The room was big, with very comfortable large bed.Walk in shower in the en-suite . All very clean. Ample storage including a huge wardrobe with plenty of hangers. Dressing table with large mirror.A stunning bay window with a table and two comfy chairs looking over Babbacombe bay and the downs. Tea making tray. Juice, muffins, flapjacks and biscuits provided daily if needed.

The room had a good view and the bathroom was tastefully decorated. There was plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe and the bed was comfortable.
The room was very small, and felt quite cramped. The choice of tea and coffee provided was extremely limited. The bathroom was cold, although the heated towel rail was switched on after the first night. The shower cubicle itself was very small. My husband and I are both slim build and found it cramped. Also the water pressure was insufficient to be able to wash my hair and the shower head was leaking, which didn't help. I was shocked to find that the 'breakfast' included in the price consisted of a sellophane wrapped muffin, flapjack and a small bottle of juice. This was delivered the day before breakfast so the fruit juice was warm. We were told we go to the cafe next door, where we could have a nice breakfast!

The room was beautifully clean with a very comfortable bed and an extra heater for if we got cold in the evenings, which was very useful.
We knew when we booked that breakfast was to be a muffin and flapjack, but were disappointed by the quality of the food provided.

2nd time staying at the Royal , Very clean . Staff helpful and friendly
The shower was one temperature (Hot) and not great pressure

Everything was really goodl
Let me think 🤔
4.3
Great location, clean, large room (kingsize). Pleasant, friendly staff.
Fittings quality was poor - the toilet seat did not lift properly and there was a leak - from the shower base? - that led to a trail of water. Mattress rather soft and unduly springy. Slightly overpriced for the overall experience. Carvery meat and potatoes were fine but the vegetables were overdone.
4.3
The sea view
The bed was very small
The breakfast was terrible l don’t consider muffins and flap jacks as a substitute for a breakfast and when we asked for something different eg crackers and cheese we were told that we couldn’t have them
If I had known when I booked the hotel that a real breakfast was not available I would not have booked there.
4.3
The sea view was perfect & the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel/room was clean and the food was good.
Showering was made difficult as there was no water pressure.
4.3
The room was comfortable and clean.
The room was cleaned daily and stocks replenished
The Hotel did not have breakfast (which we knew before we went), though did provide muffins and Flapjacks in the room for breakfast. There are a number of places close by to get breakfast.
4.3
THE VIEW FROM ROOM ,CLOSENESS TO AMENATIES ,INCLUDING THEATRE ,BUS STOP JUST OUTSIDE ,AMPLE FREE PARKING ,ABLE TO BOOK TABLE FOR MEALS ,
4.3
The staff were on the whole great and very accommodating. The room was clean and I had a lovely sea view.
The food for breakfast is ok but muffins and flap jacks are loaded with sugar and not good for diabetics and slimmers. The food was very good but perhaps an alternative dessert could be added that isn't so calorific....fresh fruit salad ?
4.3
I utilised the hotel as a base to watch my foorball team play the town's local club and generally explore the town . Although the hotel was considerably higher above sea level than the train station and town, this did not deflect my enjoyment of the four day (including return journey) holiday break that I took. I walked, but I would recommend a taxi from the station. The hotel was a very nice and clean place to stay in, the staff were friendly and helpful, there was a variety of different food on the menu all at reasonable prices. With a car, I would have explored further a field.
There was nothing that I did not like about my stay.

The food was excellent , the view was fantastic and even with a room over the restaurant there was very little noise.
The bed was on casters and constantly moved away from the wall .

Lovely area. Lovely views overlooking the sea. Very clean. Loved the idea of putting a top up bag outside the door.
Walls are quite thin but if people were more considerate and closed doors gently and didn't have their Tvs on too loud and talk too loud until 1o clock in the morning. Everything would be great.
