I found relief in departing from the establishment swiftly the next morning. This experience now serves as a stark reminder of poor hospitality, blatant sexism, and an illustration of how not to run a business.
Caution to Future Guests: Misrepresentation and Unprofessional Conduct at the Hotel
At Hotel Zum Berggarten I encountered false advertising and unprofessional conduct. The rooms depicted in the hotel's advertisements were not reflective of the actual rooms available for booking, which I found to be highly misleading.
I had booked a room with a large double bed after a long drive (specifically as I was still recovering from a medical procedure just days prior), only to be allocated a room with two single beds. The reception was closed by the time I discovered this discrepancy, and the staff member I reached over the phone was unhelpful. The manager, who did not speak English, made communication even more challenging for non-native German speakers.
In an attempt to rectify the situation, I was moved to another room where two single beds were pushed together. This arrangement was far from comfortable. The manager's attitude was abrupt and rude, and he seemed more concerned about ensuring I was not secretly hosting a second person in the room than about my comfort or satisfaction as he removed the bedding from the 2nd bed.
Throughout the night, there was constant noise from an air conditioning unit or a similar device within the building. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and I woke up with back and neck pain. Upon checking out, the manager's demeanour changed dramatically. He made unsolicited comments about my appearance, implying that his level of customer service was contingent on how I visually presented (looking well-groomed and dressed smart casual, as opposed to tired and more casual attire the night before). This left me feeling objectified and uncomfortable.
I urge future guests to be aware of these issues before booking at this hotel. It's important to know that the rooms you see in the advertisements may not be what you actually receive, and the level of customer service may be inconsistent and based on superficial judgments.

The Room and the receptionist were okay. But the price was too high for the quality of the room provided. Not enough shower gel. We paid for one big bed, but got two single beds joined together. The street and the Church made it hard for us to sleep because they were very loud. And the Check-out was way too early.

Bathroom - shower doors did not really close
Apartment is partly underground, which is not clear from the description at Booking.com. It means that there were two windows only, which gives the stay an bunker-like feeling. Combined with the exceptional weather - it was very warm at the time of the stay - there was not enough fresh air in the rooms.
Advice to the hotel - please give more accurate information about the apartments location, and install some air conditioner.

The location seems far from Central Kassel but fast tram stops in front - it's a 7 min ride to Friedrichsplatz

Great staff
The tram noises were fairly loud but nothing to complain about. Part of city living.
No air conditioning.

There are nothing to like
It was very bad experience in this hotel
This hotel is located in the outside of city, the reception person didn't speak English, the owner was NOT friendly and kindly with the tourists. The worst part is no service cleaning every day. The owner is not German, he is not polite with clients. And the owner hang up my friend's phone, he insults the guest, we hope to tell everyone:
Do not suggest to stay in this hotel.

Such nice personnel! We reserved one apartment for our family (2 adults and 2 teenagers) to rest mid way from Baltic Sea, but we forgot to announce that we were traveling with our dog. One solution was immediately offered and everybody was very happy! Hotel is well located, few minutes by car to the town center and not far away from the Palace and Hercule monument.

It was clean comfortable bed good shower and bathroom
There was A big rat on the indoor stairs leading to our rooms on the first floor. My husband called the receptionist and helped him chase the rat out. But the receptionist didn’t seem to disinfect the stairs and hallway. Neither did he offer us a free coffee or anything to make up for the horrible experience.
