the private space in the room is bigger then i expected, can make breakfast by self in the morning and amenities is enough for daily use, staff is friendly! 👍🏻
staff may not stay late night so no one will control the using time of hair dryer and washing machine. some ppl just no manner and close the door so hard in the midnight but staff may not there to remind them. 🥺
4.3
Situated right infront of Ewha University.
I think my room is a little cramped coz its at the end of the corridor compared to other rooms, had to pack my luggage at the corridor due to space constraints. But otherwise, great place, appreciated the free breakfast provided. Best value.
4.3
The place was clean and conveniently located.
I had to pay for my stay in cash upon arrival. Multiple bathrooms were out of service during the stay, with these already being limited. It's also quite noisy and easy to hear through the walls.
4.3
It's a small place but it feels very homey, there are full of details that makes the stay very pleasant. The area is also very nice.
Not the place's fault, but beware how long some girls occupy the restrooms, not of this world
4.3
The privacy of the bed with curtain, the location and the vanity mirrors.
Very antisocial. Staff came across as a bit rude and not very friendly or concerned.
4.3
Great location, Very clean and spacious. Has heaps of things to help you get ready (curler, straighter, iron and board etc)
nothing
4.3
The bathroom is big and comfortable. Location-wise is good. Contact-less check in is available. The staff will contact thru booking.com platform before check in.
Basic facilities like iron, hair dryer, vanity mirror, microwave, toaster, refrigerator are available. You can make your own breakfast with the eggs, bread and cereals provided.
Room is a bit small, so most of luggages will be put outside, at the hallway. You wont be comfortable to pack/unpack in the room.
For Muslim traveller, you will have very very limited space for Solat.

The philstay hostel is very comfortable for young female travellers as it’s located in a quiet, yet vibrant neighbourhood with university students going around. The hostel itself is a bit of a climb to the third floor without elevator but it’s manageable. The amenities are all in good condition, and the staff were helpful. It’s also easy to get public transportation and to go see the campuses nearby. Definitely a good option for a solo trip.

Location is conveniently located minutes from Ehwa Station. Sent the staff a message on booking app saying I'll be arriving later than expected and they responded very quickly with clear instructions on self check-in. Bed space was clean and roomy. Towels are provided and self-service. Water dispenser available. CCTV for security. Room is kept comfortably heated.
They are located on the 3rd floor and there is no lift so it's a struggle for people with large luggages. The shared space in the room between the bunk beds is TINY, hence most people have their luggages outside the room making the hallway very cluttered. Personally since I'm on the top bunk, i just took out all my packing cubes and laid them next to my mattress so I did not have to keep getting to my luggage outside. The toilets were alright but toilet paper has to be discarded in the bin. Hot water inconsistent and one night with completely no hot water at all for shower, which is very bad news during winter.

There has definitely been a lot of thought put into the hostel. From the features of the beds, such as the blinds, the little fold out table and the wooden ledge that provides more space. I also thought it was handy that the hostel provided lots of toiletries as well as the likes of hair dryers etc. Sometimes I feel quite uncomfortable staying in hostels, but my stay here felt very relaxed, especially due to the calm nature of the common room and the privacy of the beds.
Very important to note that the hostel is two floors above street level, with no lift so getting heavy luggage up can be quite difficult. There is luggage storage in the room however it's not too large so many people had to store their luggage next to the main door - however I never heard of any issues regarding this.
The rooms can become very very warm at night time.
And if you stay here please note it's a self check in !! I seen several guest who were not aware of this including myself, thankfully I noticed whilst at the airport, gaining the entry codes through airport wifi. However, some didnt. And as they had no sim card and were outside, not yet connected to hostels wifi to check how to get into reception and their rooms. I seen this cause a few issues and confusion during my stay here. Especially as staff are not always there to help out.

There was adequate space in each bunk to settle in. There were reasonable rules so that guests were respectful of each other. The common space was well kept and clean for use. I liked that there was a mini fridge in the room for personal food items.
It is not ideal if you have large luggage as there is not much space in the room to organise your things.

This is probably the best hostel that I've ever stayed! The toilets, bed and eating area were reasonably clean. The security was great as there're passcodes both for accessing the hostel and your room. There're enough toilets for everyone to use. There were some noise at night but it's acceptable and bringing a pair of earbud would help. The staff was very nice and responsive. The hostel is located near subway station - very convenient and you don't have to worry about safety too much when you go back to hostel at late night. Would definitely recommend this place to girls coming to Seoul on their own!
Nothing really.

I had lived in this hostel several times, this time the staff was the best staff I have experienced, very kind, thank you.

This hostel is in a very ideal location, not too touristy, perfect during autumn, close to everything! They provide breakfast (cereal, eggs, tea, coffee, juice, milk, bread), towels, adaptor, shampoo, liquid soap. They also have hairdryers and the capsules are so spacey compared to the other ones I’ve stayed in. The first room I stayed has a bit narrow common middle space but I was transferred to another room since I requested a bottom bunk for the next half of my stay there and that room has a lot more space. The owner is very nice too, she let me leave my luggage there while I go to places outside Seoul, such a huge help to me, I’m very grateful~ My previous go-to accommodation closed down due to pandemic so I’m glad I found this new one! Will probably always stay here during my visits in Seoul from now onwards

All beds had dividers so there was privacy, staff also was very particular about guidelines that all had to observe which made things smooth as most of the people obeyed. There were laundry, hair dryer facilities available, breakfast was also good.
Staff was super polite and helpful.
Location is also decent, very accessible through subway and bus.
The place can get cluttered, particularly the bathrooms towards the end of the night and the morning as there are quite a number of people staying. Same with the kitchen sink and common room dust bins. Cleaning staff came around noon - 1 pm and the place was cleaned every day, but just tends to get quite cluttered at these times.

Of all the hostels I've stayed in Seoul in my eleven visits, I must say that this is one of my favorites so far. Aside from the high ratings I've provided, this hostel gave me a lot of happy memories which I will really remember :) Special mention to the hardworking and friendly staff, Hye, for the exceptional services she extended during my stay :)
Location - it is located a stone's throw away from Ehwa Women's University, and few blocks away from the subway station so this place is somehow strategic (lots of shops, cafe, restaurants around, although they close a bit early -- beginning 7:30 pm). Taxis also pass by the area regularly so it is also easy to get a ride when you need one.
Bed - the room for the eight dorm beds is quite small, with a little space for everyone to walk in to so if you have big luggage, you need to store it in the common area outside the room (but it's safe, don't worry! There are CCTV cameras all over common areas). The dorm bed itself is quite spacious, though. If you have a small luggage, it can also fit beside the mattress. I don't like super soft mattress so the one that's provided is good enough for me. The only issue that I have is that I move a lot in sleep, and the mattress creates a sound like crumpling paper or plastic even in small movements haha!
Breakfast - basic breakfast is offered, but is enough to fill you up for the morning grind (bread for toasting, eggs, cereals, milk, juice, coffee, tea). There are also basic cooking utensils in the dorm so if you feel like cooking basic meals, you can also do so.
WIFI connection is also not an issue because common areas and even the rooms (and bathrooms!) have fast internet connection.
It's not that I didn't like, but just a comment so others would also have an idea to also set their expectations :)
The facility is situated at the third floor of the building WITHOUT an elevator. So if you have a heavy luggage, it can get quite hard to bring it up in flights of staircases. Rooms are not 100% sound proof so some outside noise tend to seep in the doors/small open spaces under the door.

The location is excellent, right by the subway station.
Just be aware that the place is located on the third floor and there is no elevator.

Comfy bed, really spacious. A place to put every single belonging. And a really great location.
Towel could be a little bit bigger.
