The chap who checked us in, ran the bar & took the food orders did so with a smile on his face.
That is was severely understaffed
The food was terrible & chef wasn’t sure if he’d even served us the correct food!

The evening meal was excellent The bar staff great. we were well looked after a very enjoyable visit.

This hotel is in a perfect location, just on the edge of Peterborough right off the A1 (north). The rooms are very comfortable and the staff extremely helpful and accommodating. Despite its location, there was no noise to disturb your sleep. The dining room also serves excellent food. We will definitely be returning.
Unfortunately, the mattresses have gone well past their sell by date and could really do with replacing!! Nothing fancy is needed, but unfortunately I could feel every spring in the bed.

Good location close to A1, exceptional double glazing meant you didn’t know you were next to the road! Amazingly friendly staff went out of their way to make you feel at home. We worked in the bar for two days and stayed overnight and felt like we were at home.
Rooms had a rather unusual plug system - very old wiring!

staff were brilliant, very friendly and welcoming.

Not a great deal.
It is looking a bit tired. Booked in at 20.30 and no food available. £6 for a pint of Guinness which was pretty awful. Closed the place at 21.15 and sent to your room or sit outside to finish your drinks.

Everything! From check in to check out the staff were all friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Room was clean and comfortable.
Entrance to the hotel was on the very busy A1 and needed to be careful entering and leaving the grounds. We didn't hear the traffic in our room though. .

very old plenty of history. staff could not be more helpful. Although on the side of the A1 it is quiet, restful and we were made so welcome. Even had a drink in the gardens watching the rabbits .

Close to A1, nice clean room, comfortable bed
Changed the date of our stay to a Sunday, was emailed to say restaurant and bar was shut. Turned out hotel was closed, but note on window to givevus our room number and told key in doir. Still charged same price

Location straight off the A1 very convenient as we needed to break our journey to Scotland overnight but not divert too far from our route.
No dislikes particularly- we arrived late and needed to leave early so did not interact with anyone during our stay or use the bar/restaurant.

some of the mattresses in the family room were a bit springy!

Staff were lovely. Beyond helpful. The evening meal was so good I had the seabass both nights. Pud was fabulous too.
Only 2 tiny things, wi-fi was a little slow and no hot water pm. But I had a kettle, so no issues.

Easy to find. Lovely room with four poster bed. Really good dinner. Lovely, friendly staff.
It is a shame there is no lift but to be fair it is an old Inn and on departure we were told they have ground floor rooms. Also, although the fried breakfast was good we do not like having our toast put on the plate on top of the beans (instead of on a separate plate) and no butter and jam available with it.

convenient position . Lovely thick white towels.Good heater . usb points near bed .
The bed had an uncomfortable sprung mattress. I could feel the springs . Thin pillows, need replacing . Not good enough for a superior room .

Comfortable secluded room in Stibbington Annex, surprisingly quiet considering the proximity of the busy A1. Comfortable bed. I slept very well. Generous tray of tea, coffee and biscuits. Good pub food in the restaurant. Nicely cooked breakfast.
I wish they had a draught beer at the bar!

The staff were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. We ate in the pub restaurant which was homecooked food of a high standard - I asked for no carbs but loads of veg and I got a vast selection of perfectly cooked vegetables - I was very impressed. Breakfast was also very good.
I hadn't realised the hotel was right on the A1 so the traffic noise was quite loud but we had a bedroom overlooking the open fields at the back which was great.
