Stay in Alnwick

The Guesthouse is ideally located on Hotspur Street, just a short walk to Castle and all local shops, bars and restaurants

No option for breakfast on site, but some cafe's and bars offer, just a short walk away

Comfortable, Clean and Central

The accommodation was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Staff were lovely and helpful even though only spoke over the phone. The location was great with an easy walk into town and to the castle and gardens. Perfect for what we needed.

Paying on site is quite difficult as we didn't see anyone so we had to leave cash as instructed.

Only good thing about this place is the location

should have been clearer beforehand about parking situation- needs to state limited parking, as an issue if a car in front of you in the yard. when I booked the room originally it states toiletries, (as you would expect for a b&b) but only hand wash provided so had to ask for that. shower was not clean or bathroom in general. never saw the owner during the trip either.

Close to Castle Gardens.

This guesthouse is in such a central location it's just a few minutes walk from the Castle Gardens entrance that I had gone there to visit.

OK for one night in the summer.

Plenty of space, easy to find.

It was cold, couldn't figure out how to turn heating on. Sofa was quite away from the TV, so had to sit on the corner of the corner unit. WiFi code was in reception on a piece of paper that someone took into her room...thought she was going to bring it back but she didn't, would have been better putting in each room.

Lovely room to base yourself in to visit the lovely town.

Great location, efficient communications via text. Comfortable room and bed. Luxurious feel to the decor. It fulfilled all my requirements for my visit.

I worked for a b&b so please hear the following as helpful facts and advice not a complaint, as know unless we were told about things we weren't always aware. I think the shower room could do with a little update, shower rooms get mould with usage and time but perhaps is starting to show wear and tear, especially in the shower door runners etc. Plug didn't fit the basin. Bottom panels on inside of toilet door could do with a good clean, think they have been missed for several guests the other panels were fine.

A group of 7 visit over one night. Everyone was delighted with the hotel.

Easy to book in, clean large rooms, very convenient for a larger group (there were seven of us) and ideally located in Alnwick next to the best pub in town!

No breakfast option but many possibilities of breakfast nearby.

Lovely value for money.

Great location, just near the arch. Great for access to the castle and the town. Lovely comfy bed and smelt really clean. Felt safe.

The bathroom ceiling is peeling slightly but it is great value for money.

The owner is lovely and very helpful, the bed was comfortable and the room was a nice size.

Very convenient for walking into Alnwick, parking very limited, but there is a car park nearby. Good communication with the owner. Room was cold, we were in the middle of a cold snap! The owner gave us a portable heater which made a big difference.

The bathroom was a nice size, but could just do with a bit of a makeover. Sealant around the shower needs replacing. Although it was clean, the mouldy sealant made it feel a bit grubby.

Booking.com have it as bed and breakfast but the email from the owners say no breakfast included. Maybe needs to be sorted out between both parties.

Really friendly owner. Great location and easy to find and access. Room was spotless and bed linen/quilt/ pillows high quality. Nicely decorated and excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend

No contact at all with host, lots of thick dust and cobwebs, mould all over top of shower (which was basically in a wardrobe), found a silver watch, earring, hair grip and broken clasp all on floor next to bed, creaky stairs/doors beside room

great location and big apartment

had the apartment- kitchen was a lot bigger than we were expecting Amazing location- no noise but super close to Alnwick centre and bars

not the cleanest and parts of room a little tired. check in a little confusing- no one there but phone number displayed so easy to call and someone quickly came and showed us where to go

Disappointed

Quiet location. Close to places to visit.

The bed mattress was tilted towards tv so I found myself falling out of bed. Probably because tv was on that side of wall where people sit on mattress to view. Tv should be downwards of the bed. Had to sleep on floor as the chair was too hard on the thighs to sleep in. We were not met when we got there at allotted time and we were not given any advance notice via txt or email. Had to contact them. Parking for a landrover was extremely tight.

Disappointing largely because although the guesthouse describes itself as a B & B we found on arrival that no breakf

it is a period property; the room was large with two windows.

advertised with parking but only enough room for a couple of cars. No communal dining area.

Stay was excellent, 100% would return given the chance.

Cosy and old feeling (in a good way) Staff are very friendly and welcoming Lots of things to do in walking distance Amazing value for money Staff restock towels, bins and tea/coffee items daily Free WiFi Comfy beds FREE MINTS!!!!!!

Doors didn’t close properly (nitpick not a problem) Parking could be a problem if you leave your car as free parking was 24 hours with not return for 4 and guest house car park only fit two vehicles (again nitpick can work around it) Shower can turn you into a lobster without warning (be prepared to dive out the shower)

it was clean and tidy with tea and coffee etc supplied

room 3 was very small, no wardrobes, place to put the two suitcases, very odd slope down to toilet which when you are waiting for a knee replacement was a tad iffy in the night, the shower had no shelf to put anything and the TV didn’t work but we knew that because it was noted on trip advisor

Comfortable and convenient

We stayed in the apartment and found it comfortable and convenient for the town. The double bed was comfortable and lounge area nice. Kitchen and bathroom were good. Free parking just up the road on the right,

It took me a while to work out how to turn the sound up on the TV as that button on the remote didn’t work. You can turn it up on the main Panasonic box below the TV though. Not having a cooker limited our eating options a bit to using the microwave and toaster. We mostly ate out anyway.
