The kitchen facility seemed well equipped and clean. The showers had hot water and we're clean and so we're the toilets. The bed itself was comfy but the rooms are probably more ideal for big groups who could book out a whole room for themselves.
The staff were unhelpful in my opinion. I asked were there any bars close all I got was there's one downstairs or the city is that way (it was not a nice one either downstairs) I asked about the events and they run no events at the hostel anymore. The reception area is just squished into the middle of a hallway, there's no vending machines or anything like that. I did not see even a washing machine. The rooms are not very private, if you're reading this find a hostel with a curtain on your bed. The cleaner as well will burst into your room at 10am as soon as people check out and starting changing sheets and cleaning so good luck sleeping. The location is fine and close to everything but around the hostel itself there isn't much you have to walk at least 10/15 mins to any decent coffee or bars.

Great people, comfortable bed for a bunk bed, just a small room, nice view from the roof top kitchen. All in all good stay.
There were no heaters in the room.

As you will read the staff are top notch at Nate's. As a customer for one day or many more you will feel welcomed into the cosy fun family. Some background music in common areas and many friendly welcoming faces. The rooms are homely and the renovated bathrooms with hot water with the extras you could expect at a relatives, available throughout my stay. Sufficient comfort, warmth and the old style come and join in, volunteers clean daily and you can chip in too for rent. Hospitality for real.
A bit more of a run through of extras that are on offer at check-in is the only thing I could suggest!

Late availability, it was available at the last minute.
Staff were less than hospitable.

The room was spacious and comfy and the shower was powerful. Staff were really helpful and informative and gave me lots of information about the hostel and the city.
Despite informing the hostel of the time I was due to arrive, I had to wait 2 hours to check in as no one was there. Fortunately I was able to wait in the lounge which had comfy sofas and a TV but this could have been a problem for someone who needed to check in quickly

I stayed almost two months and my staying was very comfortable. Clean room, toilets and kitchen, fully functional and adequate. Excellent staff and guests. After a while you feel like being in a big family. Every time in Melbourne i know that i can count on them. Highly recommend.

There seemed to be only one bathroom for the floor I was on, at least there was only one that I was aware of, and the staff were not friendly at all.
