Gostei muito do pequeno almoço! A Catxupa estava excelente.

Amazing location, beautiful views and friendly staff. Clean rooms, great hot shower with good pressure. Reliable strong WiFi. Fabulous, well sign-posted hikes nearby.
The pricing of food and drink was not clear as there were no menus provided- would be great to have a menu for clarity. Otherwise we were very happy and loved our stay.

Breakfast OK but decorators working in dining room while I was eating. Beautiful view but very noisy with music from village going on all night. The proprietor's mother was kind in letting me leave my luggage in her house when there was no-one to receive me at the hotel.
Claimed no knowledge of either of my two bookings for 2 nights and 1 night. No staff around to let me in to the hotel and receive me as anyone would expect at a hotel Dinner poor, overcooked meat and fish. The refurbishment was going on all around me, even when I was eating.

We had a fabulous three days stay here. The rooms were very comfortable with lovely views from the balconies. we enjoyed walking in the surrounding hills. We had excellent massage on site. The staff were helpful and friendly. The restaurant is excellent with a delicious buffet supper and a pleasant breakfast.

I loved the restaurant area and the hammock in the balcony of the room. The restaurant was great and the staff were kind. Absolutely gorgeous mountain setting! Perfect starting point to climb Pico da Antonia.
Not much to improve, though the WiFi did not work well in the room's balcony area and didn't work in the room.

The location was excellent with lovely views. Although the food choice is limited it was very tasty. The cachupa at breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful.
I didn't like some of the reviews which were unfair. The hotel is at the top of a mountain. It is colder here than lower down but this is to be expected. The staff wear thick clothes because they are cold. It is a poor area and it is not reasonable to demand that fires are lit. Wear outdoor clothing and it is perfectly warm. There are plenty of blankets for the bed.

This is a great location for hiking, although you need to choose carefully if you don’t want a 700m plus climb! The receptionist was delightful.
We were there in a cold period and since the hotel doesn’t have (or use) any heating, consequently everyone was cold and dining in there hiking gear. The breakfast was poor as was the buffet provided when the hotel had a large group or conference. Worse still when we checked out, we found the buffet cost more than the a’la carte which at least achieved an OK rating. The whole hotel is in need of some serious maintenance, the bed side lights didn’t work in our room. Most of the staff didn’t appear to be enjoying their work.

I loved the attention to details and to individual needs from the owner of this place. He elevates this accommodation to superior level really and makes every guest feel great. I really appreciate it. The views are also exceptional.

Friendly staff, fantastic location with superb view. Excellent location for hiking.
Good breakfast.
WIFI is available but not everywhere. This, however, shoudn 't be estimated as a real minus quotation.

Beautiful location in the mountains, the owner / manager is very friendly, very flexible with late check out.
Most of the staff does not speak English, communication is quite hard. The restaurant does not have any menu, there is no information about prices, and it took us a while to figure out that there is only buffet. The food itself was quite good, but partly cold. The rooms are quite old and not well maintained.

very friendly staf and manager; good food. we were lucky to hear the manager sing and playing guitar. we had a wonderfull evening!
tranport to Praia or San Domingos: very easy. beautiful walks with a guide to the picos San Antonio.
sometimes we had to wait a little to long for the food. after you order, they wait for the other guests to order and they make the food for everybody on the same moment. so everybody ate together, whether you just arrived or waited already one hour. It’s best to know that so you won’t get frustrated or impatient.

A great location for a hotel with amazing views.
Very good food and a delicious breakfast with loads of variety. Too much to handle on you own ;)
The first night I met the owner, a very friendly and welcoming guy, who spoke perfect English.
Note: I was the only guest in this big hotel. Maybe things would have been different if there had been more guests. Communication with the staff was rather difficult. The only lady speaking a bit of English left every day at 3 p.m. The owner was only around the first night.
Couldn't get any precise information about the collectivos or anything else.
At a place in such a location at such a price I would expect some information about hiking being provided in form of maps or little guidebooks. There was no information material whatsoever in the room.
The balcony was very dirty, when I arrived + not all the lamps were functioning in the room.

Super friendly staff, excellent food, situated in the mountains, great view from terrace.
Nothing to complain about.

The breakfast was great, the rooms are nice and location of the place is brilliant.
Maybe there could be more options for dinner.

Great View and Starting Point for Hikes
Great Buffet
Recommended local Guides probably not to recommend, better go for certified ones with language capabilities, and do not take off-road drive with rental car as recommended
Value for money is great, still some things appeared on the final bill that were not communicated before, or seemed to be for free (lunch bag, home made spirit drinks etc.)
