About this apartment rental
Louis Armstrong Suite in Lower Garden District- This newly renovated ginormous 2-bedroom suite is the heart of elegance and luxury with Victorian era charm and modern amenities. Off-street parking in private driveway, California king-sized bed, large, plush-soaking tub, double-headed shower, new sleeper sofa and huge kitchen are some of the perks. Just 1 block from St. Charles Ave on the parade route with easy access to public transport, taxis, Uber or Lyft. Fresh Market, restaurants, & historic Garden District landscapes are only footsteps away!
Relax and enjoy a nice bubble bath in the fully functioning Ciprea Jacuzzi, large enough for 2. If you're more of a shower person, our custom-designed 2-headed shower is equally large, with rainforest option, sitting area and natural stone floors. The humongous bathroom has a private toilet area, plenty of closet space and 3 skylights that provide a beautiful natural illumination onto the ceramic floors.
The master (Night Sky) bedroom features a California king-sized bed, sitting area , exposed brick (non-functioning) fireplace, wooden mantel and (3) 10-foot bay windows. The 52" HD television is equipped with Cox cable, Netflix and Hulu capabilities. Both bedrooms have the original red oak floors complemented by authentic Persian rugs. The naturally refinished hardwood trim and molding adds the perfect touch to bring this 1896 mansion to life!
The queen (Sun) bedroom is outfitted with a queen-sized bed, sofa, exposed brick (non-functioning) fireplace, wooden mantel and 10-foot window overlooking the property's side yard. The 47" HD television is equipped with Cox cable and Netflix and Hulu capabilities.
The extremely large kitchen is equipped with a 1930s O'Keefe & Merritt gas stove, microwave, Keurig, refrigerator dishwasher, granite island and seated eating area with 3 tall stools. We stock the kitchen with utensils, cutlery, dinnerware, k-pods and bottled spring water. There is also filtered Kentwood Spring Water from the spout on the left side of the sink area.
The rear door leads to a shared back stairway area that houses a new bottom load washer and dryer set, detergent and extra amenities. The gated driveway is yours exclusively to use during your stay. Be careful when entering and leaving, as the gate closes automatically after 30 seconds.
Step outside into our quaint grass yard area that houses (2) bbq grills at your disposal. We only ask that you clean the grill before each use, as is our long-standing tradition custom.

The reserved gated parking initially sold me. But the whole place was beautiful and well appointed. It was convenient location to the streetcar and pretty centrally located to be a quick drive to most of our destinations. The music room was a super nice touch. Lots of great jazz records to listen too when we were in.

This property was spacious and beautifully decorated. Communications with the owner were speedy.

I took a train by myself to New Orleans from the SF Bay Area and was feeling ill and a bit disoriented during check-in, where I didn’t realize my reservation phone number was my actual phone number. After getting lost with my Lyft due to having the address slightly wrong I discovered an on-site staff member who must’ve thought I was a burglar. He let me in and I got the right code the next day but had difficulty locating and working other equipment and finding things so I mostly left the music collection and kitchen appliances untouched. However the place was truly amazing and I would highly recommend it for a group of jazz buffs, chefs, and urban explorers who like old streetcars.

These guys thought of every little thing! The place is beautifully decorated with anything you’d need. They even have a wall of jazz vinyls with a record player so you can listen all day or night. The teens filled their instas with tons of unique pictures just from inside. It was very clean too. I would definitely stay there again. And I NEVER leave reviews for anything bc I’m too lazy. I had to this time

Very nice apartment, great location with the tallest doors we have ever seen! Walking distance to a wonderful grocery store. Enjoyed morning walks through beautiful neighborhood. Everything as stated or better.

We LOVED staying here! Highly recommend! Was nervous at first sharing a house with others but you couldnt tell! Felt like it was all ours! Plus this comes with your own parking spot and parking would have been a challenge if not. You will love it!

Such a clean and classy place for a weekend getaway! 5 stars.

We had a great stay. Unique property that was clean and completely operational. Grat for me and my mom. We cooked in, went out, ordered in. Only minor issue was the upstairs neighbors were consistently loud all hours of the day or night so if you are a light sleeper bring earplugs. I slept good once I made the adjustment. Typical of old homes with multiple floors. I would stay there again

The home was above our expectations!! The pictures are great, but doesn’t do justice until you see yourself. The home was very clean. Check in/out was easy. Great location for the parades!! I would highly recommend this beautiful home.

Place was cozy, clean and colorful. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen is spacious but not a lot of seating for dining. The vinyl collection was fun and we played some tunes while getting ready. The parking place was convenient and property is gated. We walked to Magazine St easily and ubered to the French Quarter. Location, if in the Garden District, it's on the very edge. I wouldn't suggest walking at night. There wasn't much noise disturbance. All in all, we had a great stay.

Del and Treena's home is charming and luxurious; it feels like you are stepping back in time. They have decorated it with style and good taste and everything you could want is there. As hosts, Del and Treena responded quickly to all of my stupid questions. The location is great - a short walk to the antuqye stores on Magazine Street and a block from the St. Charles steatcar, which we took to get downtown. This was the best holiday ever and this apartment set the tone for a great visit to a lively and beautiful city. Thanks Del and Treena!

The iron gate automatically closes after 30 seconds and this wasn't disclosed. It is updated now to reflect this but too late and it should have had a safety sensor installed. What if it were a child or person it closed on instead of my car??The gate closed causing $2500 damage to my car and it was immediately reported to the owner w/ photos. Estimates were provided, as requested and instead of doing the right thing , he said basically "email my lawyer" and take me to court. There's an open safety investigation w/ VRBO and the legal team is now trying to help me. Bad management... admitted fault then basically told me "oh well...take me to court" He wont provide a name or address either for small claims court. I would stay elsewhere and spend your money with an honest & caring host. He wont provide any homeowners insurance either allowing me to file a claim.

Check in wasn’t as smooth because I think the door has a trick to it. Great big, clean and spacious room. It’s not the typical hotel room with doors I was expecting but I loved the close feeling of it. Del&Mar were pretty great about communicating with us when things like the WiFi and doors were giving us trouble. Also when my friends were too close to the doors with smells, they let me know and we were able to communicate about it easily. The location was great as everything was 20 mins max by cabs and the streetcar was two blocks away which was fun. Thank you for a good stay.

Love this house. The ceiling height is jawdropping. The suite is beautifully appointed and has everything you'll need. Its one block from the streetcar line as well as the grocery store and just a few more blocks to the many shops and restaurants of Magazine St. Cant wait to return...

When we arrived the door code didn't work. Conyacted property owner who showed up in minutes. Turns out the A/C was broken with no date/time it would be fixed. His solution was to let us stay in the "cottage" on the property. Even though it wasn't what we hoped for, it worked. Only wish we would have been told in advance instead of being locked out.
Property owner was very friendly and quick to respond. He reduced the rate a bit to make up for the disappointment.
Good location and the cottage had everything we needed.

My 2 kids & I really enjoyed our stay here. It is an apartment in a delightful old home, right on the edge of the Garden District. The streetcar stop is a couple of blocks away, making it very walkable & easy to get around without your car. There is a Fresh Market one block away. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom is huge. Note that there are curtains rather than a door going into the main bathroom, but the toilet has its' own room. We thoroughly enjoyed the use of the record player while we were there. I would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

This was a perfect place to stay for our New Orleans vacation. The apartment itself was beautful. You could get lost in the bathroom! Also had anything you could need.
Street car, as well as hop on hop off bus tour stop a block away. Fresh Market also within walking distance.
We are already planning a return trip and hope this property is available when we set our dates.

We truly enjoyed our Mardi Gras stay. The apartment was beautiful and we loved playing Jazz every morning. It was stocked well and great for our family. Would definitely stay again of we come back to Nola!

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay there, it was peaceful and relaxing. The host was very flexible with our early check-in. The place is adorable, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone going to NOLA.

Quaint Lodging in the Garden District
My husband and I along with our adult son enjoyed our stay in this unique apartment. It definitely had the New Orleans vibe. It was within walking distance to many restaurants. It was only a block away from St. Charles Street where you could hop on the streetcar to go to the French Quarter. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property.

Nice place, not quite Garden District
Very nice house with good size apartment. Beds were comfy. Kitchen is fully equipped. Bathroom is huge with separate shower and jacuzzi tub. Nice thick towels and lots of them for 2 people. The apartment has some beautiful decor. I loved the brilliant blue in the front bedroom. While there are other people living there, it was usually very quiet and not much street noise either.
Check in was a little difficult as we did not initially see the keypad because it blended in so well to the house. Fortunately, Del was there and able to guide us.
There are no doors between the bedrooms or the bathroom. The toilet room has a door but not where you walk into the shower and tub area. This was not a problem for us but if you're staying with friends, it could be awkward.
It is about 2 blocks from St. Charles and the immediate neighborhood is not what we expected from a place in the Garden District. However, we had no problems and felt safe even walking home after dark. There were not a lot of restuarants in the immediate area, but definitely within a few blocks or a short trolley ride.
Communication was usually pretty good but in the week before we visited, I'd asked if we could drop our luggage off early and didn't receive a response until the night before our trip. Though he did let us check in early which made that first day so much easier.
Overall, I would recommend staying here.

Hidden Gem In NOLA
Myself and 2 friends stayed a long weekend in NOLA for a wedding close by at the Terral House in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans.
The house was beautiful it was very clean, both beds were comfortable and it was convient to everything we wanted to do in New Orleans as well as where the wedding activities were.
Most importantly Del & Trena were excellent hosts and went above and beyond in meeting all of our needs and requests as well as promptly answering all our questions we had.
Thank You!!!

Perfect!
We loved our 3 nights in this beautiful home. Well decorated, quiet, great location, and a huge space! It’s just a block from the trolley and the FreshMarket. We walked to dinners on magazine street. The area felt very safe and the homes in the Garden District are fabulous. We’d stay again without hesitation. Thank you!!!!

Nice suite. Respsonsive owner.
Beautiful suite on the edge of the Garden District. The owner was very responsive and provided helpful information and suggestions to all questions, especially as we visited a couple weeks after Ida and the city was still recovering. The building was a block from St Charles, which I walked almost every day of my stay. The gated personal parking spot was great. Would stay again.

A much needed Staycation
After needing a place to stay after Hurricane Ida damaged our home, we were fortunate to find this gem in New Orleans. Deal and Trena were the best of hosts. They responded very quickly to questions/adjustments to our schedule throughout the week that we stayed with them. The place is absolutely gorgeous and the pictures do not do it justice. Perfect location for visiting the Garden District, Uptown or Downtown. We will definitely return for a weekend getaway soon.

Beautiful place to stay!
Location was perfect. Close to Magazine Street. Home was impeccably clean and beautiful! We will be back! Vacation cut short one day due to Hurricane Ida. Praying for NOLA.

Truely wonderful
I love this city! So when it came to showing my niece and her fiance around Nola, I needed a home that fit all our needs. This place was it!
Not only beautiful, but comfortable, quiet, historic, convenient and it gave the vibe I was seeking for my nieces first stay.
Close to the trolley, downtown, the airport, and in the garden district. With exquisite charm and comfort, the home was really special! The permanent tenants that live there didn't make a difference to us, we never saw them or heard a peep. It was always quiet and peaceful. My personal first time renting a home with that situation, so it made me a little nervous but all was well. I just like my privacy but we had it. So it wasn't an issue.
I'd definitely stay here again and I have shared the link with a friend who saw the footage I shared as we stayed in town.

Great place to stay
This was the perfect place to stay for our family of 4. Normally, we are itching to get out and about on vacation, but we actually spent a lot of time relaxing here. I would definitely book this room again when visiting NOLA. It's clean, quiet, and beautiful!

Next time.
To be honest we never actually made it to the property due to a family emergency. But I still wanted to do a review so I could express my gratitude to the hosts for being gracious enough to help take care of our reservation issues on such short notice. I'll be visiting soon.

NOLA the right way!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Walked both St. Charles and Magazine St. do try if you love walking. Three miles in any direction with so much to see. Walked to French Quarter to the east and University to the west. We went to The Boil House just about every night. Get to know the people of NOLA they have big hearts.
