About this house rental
The space
This home has it all: modern amenities, a quiet location, and proximity to all that Seattle has to offer.
The living areas are spread over three levels. The entry level is the main living area. This open concept space has a chef's kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. This flows directly to the dining area which includes 3 stools at the breakfast counter, and a dining table that seats 8 and expands to accommodate more.
Continuing from the dining room is the living room, furnished with plenty of seating, a nicely loaded cable TV package (HBO, Showtime, Starz, etc.), and a DVD player. There is a queen size sleeper sofa (with highest end sofa bed mattress on the market) for larger groups. Enjoy our collection of games (Scrabble, cards, etc.) in front of the gas fireplace. This floor also features a powder room.
Up one flight of stairs is a floor with two bedrooms. One has a king bed and large closet. The second bedroom offers great flexibility. It is furnished with three beds, including a twin over full bunk bed (solid and sturdy --- not just for kids!) and a standalone twin bed. These two bedroom share a nearby full bathroom with dual sinks separated from the bathtub and toilet for added privacy.
Continuing up to the top floor, you arrive at the full-floor master suite. This room has a king bed with dual nightstands. It also has a window air conditioning unit (note that this is the only floor with air conditioning, which is a real rarity in Seattle). There is a large balcony with views overlooking Madison Valley. On a clear day, enjoy the Cascade Mountain Range in the distance. The master suite also has a large walk-in closet and a 5-piece spa bathroom with jetted soaking tub, his and her sinks, and a toilet separated by a door for privacy.
Also in the home is a full-size washer dryer, a one-car parking garage, and lots of storage space.
AIR CONDITIONING
Air conditioning is a real rarity in Seattle. This home does not have central A/C, but does have a small window unit air conditioner in living room and the master bedroom.
Guest access
Access to the home is provided without a cumbersome lock box or key exchange. Instead, you will choose a 4 digit code, and the electronic lock to the home will be programmed work your code for the duration of your stay.
You will have access to the entire home, including garage parking for one car (and plentiful free street parking for additional vehicles). You also have a dedicated storage unit, as well as bicycle storage (both available with prior arrangement).
Interaction with guests
Your hosts, Andy and Lynne, live just down the block. We are here to welcome you and help you with any of your needs during your stay. We are happy to offer you advice for sightseeing and restaurant recommendations.
Guests will receive, in advance, our comprehensive homemade visitors' guide to Seattle, packed with our personal recommendations for dining, activities, and much more.
Do you plan to cook during your stay? By special advanced arrangement (depending on availability), we will fulfill your grocery list and have your home stocked for your arrival.
The neighborhood
This home is central to everything Madison Valley has to offer: great restaurants, parks, hiking, supermarkets, day spas, and more.
Your hosts made Madison Valley their home when settling in Seattle 5 years ago... and haven't looked back since.
We love walking the streets of this neighborhood, and we will gladly suggest fun walks depending on your interests. Stroll to the beach at Madison Park. Walk by multi-million dollar estates. Discover hidden neighborhood gems such as the farmhouse with horses in the yard and the home that doubles as an eclectic art studio and antique truck gallery. Take a walk through the fabled Arboretum to Lake Washington.
Once you have worked up your appetite, enjoy the countless restaurants that Madison Valley ("Little Paris") has to offer. In addition to French gems, try our favorite tapas restaurant or the best Japanese food east of Tokyo. Take your morning coffee in one of numerous bakeries. Or opt for Thai, pan-Asian, craft pizza, Tex-Mex or more.
Our home provides easy access to Downtown (Pikes Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Great Wheel), Seattle Center (Space Needle, Chihuly Glass Museum), South Lake Union (MOHAI), University of Washington, and Capitol Hill. All are accessible by car, bus (numerous bus lines a few blocks from home), or for the adventurous, by foot.
If all of this touring (and eating) has you tired, pamper yourself with a visit to a day spa or nail salon. There are several of each within a few blocks of home, and we are happy to point you in the right direction.

Great place, clean, good location, plenty of space. Good restaurants nearby like Palermo for pizza or blue water bistro on lake Washington. Puget Sound express for whale watching and Discovery Park and Snoqualmie falls are all 45 minutes or less.

We had a large party and stayed in Seattle for a few days prior to leaving for a cruise. The house had plenty of room for us, was very clean, and very quiet. We were able to make breakfast and dinner a few days, but also were close to some great restaurants and attractions ( all within 20 minutes). Excellent stay, highly recommend.

The home was as described and very functional for our 3 generational family stay. Within easy walking distance of Safeway and slightly farther is Trader Joe’s. No backyard or outdoor space to speak of. Beds were comfortable and kitchen well equipped. Excellent prompt communication with owners. Carpet on stairs is stained but otherwise the place is in very good condition. Quiet location.

The location was great. The layout was perfect for our group. The house needs a little paint touch up and the carpeting on the entry stairs was really dirty and that was what we all noticed on entering.

The property was terrific- close to everything, very nice rooms and furniture, exactly as described. The property owners/managers were very communicative and easy to reach. Definitely recommend staying here!

I personally did not stay at the rental as I booked it on behalf of a group, but they only had positive things to say about it. Thanks for being a great host.

The house was nice. Need a compact car if you want to be able to park easy. A Mini van is too big, haha. The house was very clean with lots of space and bathrooms so all us girls could get ready for the day at the same time.

Garage is insanely small and difficult to park in. I have a BMW x3 and barely made it having to back in. Make sure you really study how to get to the home before going it's not right off the street it's behind another condo and a little difficult to figure out exactly. Place was clean and well appointed. Everything seemed new but mid quality like ikea which was fine but pics made it look a little better than it is if that matters to you. Overall it's definitely better than a hotel and not too far from Everything. There are 3 leveps jic you have a hard time with stairs. I wouldn't have a problem staying again.
