Loved beds and lounge area. The grounds were beautiful and best breakfast ever. Great place to stay
Hot water took ages - great once it arrived though! Confusing to check in/out. No obvious reception area. Confused about cleaning/exit requirements so we did so much in the morning to avoid losing any of our 1000 euro hold fee.

The apartments are managed by Novotel and the main breakfast area is in the building next door with a good selection of toppings, pastry and bread. Kids (-16) eat for free. There is a great restaurant next door and an excellent bar with a very nice drinks menu conceived by the local team. The kitchen is well equiped
It is a beautiful domain and hence a pity that you don't have that view from the apartment. To reach the apartment you need to take a flight of stairs which may be difficult with large luggages
2.5
Lovely grounds, lots of room, beautifully decorated, comfortable beds. Horse and pony stables and rides on the property were very special. The brasserie fed us well and the waiters were friendly and helpful.
Communication with the reception staff was very disappointing and is the chief reason for my rating. Let me say that it wasn't due to a language barrier or cross-cultural expectations -- we had French people in our party who did most of the talking. At the reception we were repeatedly told what we wanted to hear with a smile, and then nothing was done. There was confusion about which apartment we booked and when it would be available for check in. The apartment was not well cleaned when we finally did check in. We were told wrong information about the restaurant and the pony rides. And finally they took our order and payment for room service breakfast and never told the restaurant about it, so our breakfast ended up one hour delayed... When we complained about the lack of communication, at first we were told by the receptionist that she "doesn't want to stress everybody out" with our requests and we only got heard out on our final morning by the manager who ended up refunding our breakfast...
Note also the swimming pool is 45 euro / day if you stay in the apartments and not in the main hotel, as they apparently are run by different companies

The apartment we stayed in was actually a lodge behind the castle. It was spectacular, very scenic and historic with soaring ceilings and large rooms. It had 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The beds were wonderful. The bathrooms had been modernized as was the kitchen. Coffee and tea was provided in the kitchen. It had wifi. We ate breakfast in the castle dining room. It was the best breakfast we had in France. They provided both cooked breakfast and continental items. We paid for the breakfast separately. We did not have to pay for the 14 year old. He was free. Maffliers itself is a cute, small, old village about 25 minutes from Charles de Gaulle airport. It was an easy drive through the countryside west of CDG. We chose this because it was outside of Paris, we were arriving late at night, and didn't want to spent a lot of time trying to get into a hotel in downtown Paris. It was a fabulous choice because of the quick, easy, traffic-free drive from CDG. The management of the apartment were outstanding and accommodating. They made a special effort to get the apartment ready for us so late at night. We appreciated their willingness and helpfulness.
We liked everything. A reminder to Americans that air conditioning is not a regular thing in France and there are no screens on the windows. This apartment has large windows which can be opened to provide a cooling breeze. We found it wonderful.

The location is very peaceful and beautiful. The Gîtes in which we stayed was big and had everything we needed.
2.5
Beautiful place and nice double bedroom
Unclean, unable to cook, the cooker power turned off energy supply each time we tried using it. Cooking pans have No lid, dirty grease from extractor fan drops in food, oven was completely dirty, bed was uncomfortable and water in shower gel bottles instead of body wash, very disappointed with beautiful place like that

Beautiful location, the cottage was well decorated and well equipped. There is horse riding nearby and a beautiful forest to take walks in.
The reception was very helpful when we sent a cancellation request due to a family situation (we didn’t cancel finally)
We also got a late checkout after requesting for it.
For checkout they want the guests to ensure that all the dishes have been set back in their place and that the bed covers have been removed. We had vacuumed and cleaned the gîte, had also set the dishwasher on but we had very rude remarks from the gîte-in charge who was checking us out saying that we can’t expect them to empty the dishwasher. Considering the high rent I find it odd that their service doesn’t include that. Never had these kind of remarks from other gîtes we have stayed in.
