After reading the number of 5 star reviews of the property, I had to see what the high ratings were all about. We were not disappointed in the least. Great place to stay and treat as a home base while discovering the islands off of Seattle!

We had a lovely stay. We had a great time at this beautiful property, which was accurate to its online listing. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family!

We stayed for a week while exploring the area- a great ‘home base’. The space was as advertised and past vacationers accurately identified the few items to be aware of- the driveway and traffic noise. We really appreciated the all the amenities. Spectacular views from the deck of the sunrises/sunsets. We loved being on the water with the tandem kayak. Rachel and Jim were very responsive and helpful. We’d come back again for sure.

The property was secluded and so relaxing

We had a wonderful time at this property and the owners made it extra special for our anniversary. The waterfront location was spectacular! Very private, but close to everything in Port Orchard. Highly recommend for any occasion! We will be returning!

Anchor Down Inn is by far one of my favorite VRBO’s I’ve ever stayed in! It sits right on the water and as the tide comes it, it comes right under the house (on stilts). Amazing sea life - seals, river otters, crabs, cranes, eagles just to name a few. The views are astounding and the place is very comfortable and with cute decor! The hot tub is a wonderful addition day or night. It is nicely situated - there are no homes on either side but Port Orchard is only a 3 minute drive down the road. We had a very memorable stay and will be enjoying this place again when we’re in Washington. The owners are fabulous and very attentive to making your stay the best it can be! Highly recommend!

Spent a few days of spring break with the family here. The view was amazing! Wonderful home, super clean and the best deck I’ve ever seen. The front drive is pretty steep so be prepared and the front door sticks a bit. Other than that such an amazing home! Played around on the sand during low tide with the kids. Great food not too far away, had a blast touring the USS Turner Joy in Bremerton! Can’t wait to come back!

Very cute, clean house. You are literally right on the water. The water goes under the house in one area. Host supplies are plentiful. Road noise was the only downfall. I would rent again!!!

This was a great house. The view was wonderful and it was really private. The entire place including the hot tub was very clean and welcoming. Everything was well stocked with a great kitchen. 5 stars all the way around.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this property for a few days. We live in Vancouver, WA and I had been wanting to visit Port Orchard for some time now. We had an amazing time. The house is beautiful and very clean. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed waking up to see the sunrise on the water. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Our family loves this gem

My husband and I celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary at the Anchor Down Inn. If you are looking for a place to relax with a beautiful view, this is for you!! Kitchen had everything we needed to cook and a BBQ on the deck. We enjoyed hot tubbing in the morning and late at night watching the stars and all the lights on the water. We will be back!!

All told, this place is a gem, and we will definitely be returning! <3

Beautiful views, comfortable beds.

Great place to stay if you are looking for some relaxation. My husband was I In the Navy. It was a nice surprise to hear the Reveille and then the National Anthem in the morning, coming from the Naval ship yard. Close to downtown port Orchard and Bremerton.

This was our second time staying here. Can't get any closer to the water than this.

Nice place but had some issues with the hot tub. The owner came right over to fix it. It was also on a very busy and loud road - the owners very kindly provided ear plugs for sleeping. Property is right on the water with a lovely deck.

Perfect girls weekend getaway. Rachel had everything we needed and more. The place is lovely, the view is terrific and stocked with everything you need away from home.

Clean, well stocked kitchen, great beds, super view and hot tub on the deck with full privacy. The shower has lots of pressure in the tub/shower combo. If you are lounging on the deck there is a propane heater to use when the weather doesn't want to cooperate for you. Rachel does a great job of making your stay an enjoyable one. On high tide the water is several feet deep that comes in under the house and splashes against the cement retaining walls. Just for information, cars drive about 45mph (give or take) so being prepared to turn into the driveway is something to think about. When pulling out of the driveway it is quite steep just as you are pulling up on the road and once again be prepared for the traffic. With this information I would not let it deter you from enjoying the stay you will have there.

This is a beautiful home with amazing views. It is very cozy and comfortable and has everything you need. We loved how close it is to local adventures. Our stay was perfect. We hope to be back in the future!

Fabulous spot !! Initially it was just going to be my hubby and I, but our young adult children stopped by and didn't want to leave so they stayed the night , I cannot rave enough about this property, lots of privacy on the beach , we saw 2 eagles, the road traffic was not an issue at all for any if us. My hubby said this one one of the best places we have ever booked. Loved all the extras, The family is insisting that rebook for the summer

My husband and I spent two nights at the Anchor Down Inn in early December 2021. We found it to be wonderfully private, super comfortable and spotlessly clean. The view is gorgeous, the hot tub is glorious, and the entire place is really well-appointed and seems to have been recently updated. The kitchen is a fully-equipped gem (my husband, an avid and excellent cook, gave it high marks, which says a lot!) There's a full-sized refrigerator, as well as a very nice stove/oven, a microwave, coffee/espresso makers, and all the dishes, pots & utensils we needed. There were many thoughtful touches throughout -- from a complimentary bottle of wine in the kitchen, to a tray laden with packaged snacks and candy, to mints and "shower condiments" on a tall stack of fluffy folded towels in each bedroom. There are games and puzzles in the closet, as well as an attractive brass telescope that's extremely functional as well. The hosts seem to have thought of everything! The pellet stove in the main room gives a warm, cozy glow, heats the room effortlessly, and is easy to start and control via a thermostat. Since our hosts had thoughtfully pre-filled the hopper with wood pellets, we didn't even have to add fuel -- we just turned it on! The beds are luxurious and the sheets soft, with plenty of fluffy pillows provided. (The bed in the front bedroom is a bit on the soft side, but the one in the back bedroom was just the right level of firm for us.) There was some traffic noise from the busy highway (louder in the front bedroom), but it wasn't too bad. I am a light sleeper, so I did take advantage of the earplugs that our innkeepers had thoughtfully provided, but my husband slept fine without them. Other reviewers have mentioned that the driveway can a bit dicey to get in and out of, but didn't provide details, so I will do so here. For us, there were two issues: (1) heavy traffic can make turning into the driveway a bit challenging, and (2) the driveway has a sudden steep slant at the beginning, which was a surprise the first time we turned in to it (but which turned out to be no problem, even in my fairly low-slung Odyssey minivan). We loved our stay at Anchor Down Inn so much that we will be returning again this summer. Rachel and Jim, thanks so much for providing such a welcoming and comfortable space!
