Thank you! Everything we were hoping for

This place is amazing. It is the cutest bungalow tucked away in the most beautiful grounds. We saw many birds including a parrot (wow). It is centraly located to all the fantastic things to see in this area. The screened in porch was our favorite hang out spot. It is very clean and well equipped.Rosa is so friendly and helped with anything we needed. After a long day out we were treated to her fantastic cooking. We would highly recommend the beef burritos (we had them twice). If you are staying in this area this is the place. Thanks everyone for making our stay so wonderful.

The property itself is really nice. The people are nice. It feels like you are sleeping in the jungle like advertised. The only reason for the three-star rating was the water situation. We were only able to shower one day out of four with any kind of water pressure. Tried morning and night. I have a buzz cut and had to fill buckets from the sink to rinse the shampoo out of my hair. One day there was no water pressure at all. Went on our excursion without showering. Rent a car if you are staying here. It is a drive to town to get groceries or the other direction to get wet in the river.

What an enchanting place (peaceful & secluded) – conveniently located just off the highway, but feeling very remote, and like you are deep in the wilds of Belize! Fruiting palms around the cabins attract toucans, trogons & motmots right outside your door, which makes this a thrilling spot for bird watchers! We were so mesmerized, we spent our entire time just here! The owners have kept the surrounding forest intact, while also landscaping the pathways with wondrous tropical foliage and exquisite flowering plants! Our favorites were the gorgeous Hibiscus blossoms, & the dainty clusters of Belize’s national flower – the Black Orchid!
We loved our cabin – very spacious & “homey,” with a fully stocked kitchenette, dazzling hummingbird/parrot/bromeliad artwork on the walls, cheery floral curtains, beautifully crafted wooden dining table, attractive bathroom/shower stocked with sunscreens, shampoos, & soaps, and a MOST lovely screened deck that beckoned the jungle sights & sounds right into the balcony!
Most meals we prepared ourselves (with grocery shopping nearby - either by taxi or rental car), but one enchanted evening, the co-owner, Rose, prepared an elegant, outdoor dinner for us & 2 guests in her on-site “Hummingbird Kitchen” (where she also made breakfasts for guests). Rose also gave me a special cooking lesson on how to make “Fried Jacks” – which were delicious fresh from the frypan, & drizzled with honey! We highly recommend this VRBO!

My group had all three cabins and they were all wonderful. The family that owns the place were so nice and helpful. The restaurant food was delicious. We hope to go back and stay again soon.

Such a beautiful spot! Melody was very gracious and made sure we got checked in alright. However I think she responds best to the VRBO messaging rather than through email, because she never emailed my husband back about the stove (oh yeah, there needs to be a lighter in there for the stove).
It also ran out of hot water pretty quickly and when it did so it would get burning hot and then freezing cold. It also would have been nice to have a closet or a dresser so that we didn’t live out of our suitcases.
Other than that, the cabin was insanely clean and we loved the screen porch to hang out in and listen to the nature!

We had a fantastic stay in Cristo Rey! The cabin was spacious and accommodating and nestled in a beautiful private landscape. We loved leaving the doors and windows open to listen to the rain in the evening. Melody met us upon arrival to settle us in and provided helpful information for shuttle service, rental of their pathfinder, dining locations, and excursions. We enjoyed eating at Sandals, Carms, and The Bluff; hiking at Black Rock Falls and Big Rock Trail; and trips to the San Ignacio market, ATM Cave, and ruins at Xunantunich and Cahal Pech. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend the Cabins at Monkey Fall!

Excelent!

The Property is so perfectly secluded and away from noise pollution to hear the insects singing all night (just magical), yet close enough to town to grab breakfast 5 min away at Carms Home Baking and head off to whatever adventure you have planned for the day. Rod, provided the 4 Runner for us to rent during our three day stay, that we used to explore west Belize, along with plenty of activity and restaurant suggestions. Forgot to mention, on our first night staying at the Cabins at Monkey Falls, my boyfriend and I got engaged on the screened patio while lounging in the hammock. This place will always have a special place in my heart. I will be recommending staying at the cabins to anyone who is thinking about visiting Belize!!

Melody and her family have such a beautiful property! The cabins are perfectly nestled in the stunning jungle landscape of Cayo. The perfect place to unwind and connect with nature. Her family even has a coconut orchard on the property where you can knock down a few coconuts to cool off on a hot day.
The location was perfect, a very short drive - or even 15-20 walk - to Monkey Falls and Cristo Rey village.
My only complaint is that I didn't stay longer! Can't wait to return. Melody and Rod are perfect hosts - friendly, communicative and flexible

Check-in was easy since owners live on the property and the cabin was unlocked with keys on the table. We were greeted upon arrival then left to enjoy the property. We loved the amenities and spent time enjoying the screened porch especially in the morning. Two other rental cabin were on the property but they were quite and positioned well so as to still feel secluded. Some noise echoed from nearby town at night (karaoke or bands playing). Great location for exploring if you want to be outside of town.

Lovely roomy cabin with a great screened-in porch and a well equipped kitchen. Friendly owner who communicated with us quickly. Great spot, would be thrilled to return.

Belize jungle hideout!
Great place to be close to San Ignacio but far enough away to feel like you are in a remote Jungle hideout. The property owners live in a completly different house and we had ournown place located away form anyone else. Great AC when needed, clean cabin, and fun screened in porch. Our cabin had a great few of the grounds that were well maintained. All our tours that we booked for the Mayan amd caves were from their suggestions. The tour companies also came out to us for pickup and drop off. We would absolutely stay here again.

Jungle Getaway
Wonderful accommodations at The Cabins at Monkey Falls. We loved the private and quiet space away from the hustle and bustle of San Ignacio but close enough to do all the things we wanted to do while we were there!

Peaceful Cabana in the jungle
If you are looking for a more natural experience close to San Ignacio, you found it. It is so beautiful and peaceful here, I didn't want to leave!
The family is so nice and accommodating, and such hard workers! The son, Rod, built all of the cabanas on the property (so beautiful), mom makes a delicious breakfast, Melody makes booking a breeze, and the son-in-law paints some of the most beautiful animals I've ever seen, which decorate the properties. The detail is amazing!
There is a coconut grove just down a short trail, which is fun to explore, fire pits for the cool nights, the bus will stop and pick you up at the end of the drive as they pass, and you might even hear a howler monkey or two!
Highly recommend!
