Exceptional

Great location. Great rooms. Restaurant serves excellent food. Service was great. Bar on the roof could make some improvements, but overall it’s a great place to stay.

There were apparently few guests. The reception ladies were not well versed in touristy questions.

We didn't it breakfast there. Too many nice coffee shops nearby

There is a horrible picture in our room: a greenish, ghostly sort of plant or flower depiction. We expected something colorful and vibrant like the textiles in Oaxaca.

Great location and very comfortable small hotel.

The location was great - just half a block to Santo Domingo and the ethnological botanico gardens. Good breakfast restaurant Pan-am right around the corner. The roof top bar was very nice ( but without great views ). Rooms had nice baths with skylights and a/c units. Very quiet and comfortable.

For a limited stay- where budget isn't a priority - this was worth the price just for the location.

Location was great - right next to the Ethnico Botanical Gardens and Santo Dominico Cathedral. Rooms had AC ( so street noise was not an issue) , nice baths, and comfortable beds. There was also a nice rooftop bar - though the views were limited. Interior courtyards were lush with plantings. Quite attractive and well situated hotel.

No complaints. Didn't eat there so I cant review the restaurant. A little on the high end of the hotels but worth the price.

Good

The location was excellent, close to restaurants and shopping and sightseeing.

There was constant muzak playing in the hotel is the (lots of popular American music like Coldplay). Couldn’t open up the window, and listen to the birds! There was not a lot of space for sitting outside. There was a roof deck, but it was not set up since the rooms are on the small side that would have been a real plus.

Very comfortable Oaxaca exploration

We arrived and our bags were whisked up to our rooms by the night porter. Breakfast in the nicest courtyard in Oaxaca. Late checkout at 4pm was reasonable at 30 USD. Could not imagine a nicer quiet casa so close to the church of Santo Domingo.

nice cozy and well located hotel. :)

the property is quite nice. its a small hotel but charming. the rooms are confortable, the staff very friendly specially at the restaurant. i really liked it.

the safe box in one of the rooms didn’t work. and would have been nice to have the opportunity of enjoy the terrace they have in the second floor but it was closed while our stay.

I had a great time, the staff was really nice, it was a really comfy hotel room. the shower is amazing.

it has great location, one block away from Santo Domingo, the restaurant is really good and the hotel is really beautiful.

I couldn’t say something I did!’t like, everything was great! Well the tours, the girl charge me in cash because she told me she could charge in credit card and later my friends went to pay and they did pay with a credit card.

Nice hotel with good vibe, but......

Hotel is located in a quiet street in a nice neighbourhood about 10 minutes walk from the central square. It has a good vibe, rooms ar clean and located around a central courtyard. Shower is very good and staff is friendly and helpful.

Our room (101) was located on the ground floor opposite the reception, quite noisy during the day and no privacy so needed to keep the curtains closed. We changed the 2nd night to a room at the 2nd floor, which was a lot better. Furthermore our confirmation on booking.com stated a room with balcony, but in fact none of the rooms in the hotel have a balcony! This is misleading and should be corrected at booking.com. Only a few of the staff members speak English, so upon arrival and departure we had to communicate using google translate.

When I arrived from Ajijic and entered my room, I felt like a princess.

The location was excellent. It is A small hotel, but there is 24-hour front desk and doorman. To me, as a solo traveler, this is important. The service provided by the staff was perfect. I had a delicious dinner at the restaurant, and every morning I got a quick delivery of café con leche to my door.

Margaritas from the bar could be better.

Lovely hotel and great location, slightly spoiled for us by building work.

fantastic location right in the heart of the old centre of Oaxaca. The restaurant is great for both breakfast and lunch/dinner. The room was nicely done out.

unfortunately, during our stay there was ongoing building work next door to our room - there was constant drilling and hammering from 9am every day which made it difficult to rest in the room.

Casa Vertiz was a wonderful place to spend a week in Oaxaca and the staff were so kind and helpful.

Casa Vertiz is ideally located in the centro area, close enough to be walking distance to anything, but away from the noisiest part of the city. Super close to great restaurants, stores, the Templo de Santo Domingo, the Jardin Etnobotanico, and more. The courtyards were beautiful, the restaurant was good, and the staff were wonderful during our stay.

Honestly, our stay was ideal. The only thing I wish had been different would be that the rooftop terrace was open. It was being worked on / renovated during our stay and it would have been awesome to have that space available in addition to our room and the restaurant.
