Property is well-located adjacent to parks, to a Trader Joe's, to a Swiss bakery, to Harvard and to other amenities. This is basically a student apartment that has been changed to a vacation residence with minimal modifications. Furniture is old, cleaning under the furniture is inadequate, bathroom fixtures (esp. shower) are in poor condition. Air conditioning is by four small, noisy window units. Parking is practically nonexistent.

Great place, clean, easy communication with owner. Beds were comfortable and having two bathrooms was nice. The living room is just ok, not really a place to hang out. I was bummed there was no tea kettle as there was in the picture but boiling water in a pan is ok too. Nice washer/dryer in the unit. Porch is cute. Basically if you just need a place to sleep so you can get out and about it’s the perfect location. Construction across the street but it didn’t bother us at all. 12 Riverdale will always hold a special place in my heart

Excellent Hosts
Neighborhood was a bit run down with several buildings boarded up (may be going through remodels but looked like inner city abandoned to the eye). The other thing that was a big turn off was the rat (yes rat) problem near the unit. Each day we had to wait for Uber to pick us up and could not believe how visible the rats were running between properties. I am a city guy so it was not a huge surprise to see but if my wife were with me we would have left the area immediately. Now, I am not looking to hurt the hosts here because they were great and the unit was clean. Some of the furnishings were a bit tired but everything worked. The unit is also close to bus service, Starbucks, Duncan Donuts, etc. so a big plus for me. Overall it was just okay.

Exactly what we needed - for a 3-day stay w/6 adults
3 couples traveling together on an epic adventure - we weren't sure what to expect of a "college town" apartment. We were totally comfortable - plenty of space and the property location was perfect! And Justin was VERY responsive to help get us checked in and settled - couldn't have asked for more :)

Great location and super comfortable
The apartment is in an excellent location and super comfortable, with thoughtful touches like Keurig pods. Having a washer and dryer was very helpful. There are great food options right in the neighborhood, and easy access to walking paths and park. The host, Justin, was proactive and very helpful.

Lovely apartment in a convenient location!
My colleagues and I were in Allston for a recital at Longy, which was scheduled to happen right up against the looming coronavirus. Justin provided sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer to keep us at ease, and the apartment was incredibly clean (especially important at the moment). The apartment is very well equipped and comfortable, and Justin was a lovely host who was easy to communicate with and even checked up to make sure we were happy with the space. Our recital was ultimately cancelled, but we are hoping to come back at a later date!

We just departed after staying in this property for two weeks and we couldn’t be happier. It was clean, comfortable, well-stocked, nicely furnished, and quiet. Winter temperatures were no match for the great heating system (complete with a Nest thermostat). The kitchen has a nice assortment of dishes, pots, and pans, making it easy for us to cook meals daily during our stay. If you plan to watch TV or movies, make sure you bring your favorite streaming device. The large, clear TV doesn’t have cable service, but it is ready for you to connect your own media via the in-house WiFi.
Justin was a wonderful host. He made check-in super convenient and he was always one quick text away during our stay. He even went out of his way to stop by on our check-in day just to make sure we had everything we needed.
But as nice as the house is, the best part is the location! With a Starbucks, a Trader Joe’s, and a host of restaurants less than 300 meters out the door, you won’t need to venture far for the necessities. By the way, try “Father’s Deli” within easy walking distance for good pastrami. 😉 It’s an easy 3/4 mile walk to Harvard’s main campus through a pleasant neighborhood and Harvard’s athletic facilities. Given the location, I couldn’t imagine a better place to stay if you were visiting for any Harvard sporting event.
Overall, my only hesitation in posting this review is that it might cause it to book up ahead of our next business trip to the area. If it’s available, we WILL be back!
