About this house rental
Welcome to The Farmhouse in Asheville NC and wide open spaces! Drive out the quiet winding road that parallels the French Broad River to the white 1940s farmhouse on the hill. Sit on the front porch and soak up the sun as you survey the green that surrounds you. Horses graze in the field. You exhale and relax. There is corn hole, horseshoes or enjoy the firepit. Asheville has so much to offer! Float or kayak the French Broad River. There is a seasonal tubing outfitter less then a mile away - Beer City Tubing. For "do it yourself" kayaking or tubing there are 2 river access points close to our home. One is about 2 miles away at Glenn Bridge Rd Park and the other is Butler Bridge Rd by the airport. There are more upstream. One is at Lazy Otter Outfitters and then on upstream at Etowah Bridge.
As the cool of the evening sets in, relax on the patio or porch. Get away with your family or friends and unplug as you play board games or corn hole. Or drive 30 minutes to one one many of Asheville's iconic destinations: Biltmore House, the largest privately owned house in America; or 30 min the other direction to quaint Hendersonville complete with bakery, soda shop and Mast General Store. Asheville is also a hub for great hiking. We have DuPont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest, and the infamous Parkway. Our home is centrally located to so many of the attractions of the Asheville area. If you are a beer or wine connoisseur, the Asheville/Hendersonville area has become known for its microbreweries and wineries. We are approx 10 minutes to the famed Sierra Nevada Brewery. Don't forget to take a tour, it's so interesting.
If you are flying in, we are 10 min from the Asheville Airport.
My childhood home was built in the early 1940s and is modest yet comfortable. It sleeps 8. There are 3 bedrooms and a queen sleeper sofa. There are 2 bathrooms. Downstairs there are 2 queen bedrooms that share a hall bathroom. Upstairs is the master with a king bed and private bath. There is a den and living room so kids can game in one room and adults can gather in the other room. For holidays, there is ample room to prepare a meal and eat together in the dining room or spread out on the porch. To me, the best spot is the glassed front porch where the sun streams in and you can enjoy the 180 degree view.
Our goal is and has always been the comfort of our guests. We have been in the vacation rental business for 20 years (see our Lake Lure properties Vrbo#28758 and #34359). Please note this is a working farm and it is an awesome “ in the country experience” including horses in pastures near the house, lots of grass and hay fields. My sweet childhood memories come flooding back as I breathe in the smell of fresh cut grass and hay! That being said, if you suffer with allergies related to these things, this might not be the best choice for you.

Really enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse! The property was absolutely beautiful and so serene. The inside was cozy and had everything you need. Our young kids really enjoyed all the outdoor space and wildlife. It was also very close to Sierra Nevada and downtown Asheville which was nice! Definitely would consider staying here again and would recommend to all looking!

A farmhouse surrounded by pasture and a view of mountains in the distance. The house had a lot of personal character and was very comfortable for my wife and our three grown sons.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely house just outside of Asheville. Horses roaming right next door, fresh air, lovely views, sitting by the fire pit and a warm and welcoming house when we were inside. If you are visiting Asheville do yourself a favor and drive a few minutes outside the city and stay here rather than the hotels in and around the city, you won’t be sorry.
Owner/property manager was incredibly nice and made sure we had everything we needed.
Can’t wait to return!

This property was so special. Charming and roomy. family friendly farmhouse with the most amazing grounds! Plenty of room for family to have fun with beautiful views out of every window. Kids can run and play in the huge yard and see the horses that graze everyday. The fire pit was our every evening gathering spot.
The location in Arden was ideal between Asheville and Hendersonville. Close so much!
We will definitely be back. Jenny was sweet, informative and so helpful. Highly recommend!

This home really worked out well for our family vacation, with plenty of room. Great location- short drive to Asheville and Brevard. Loved the outdoor space and we were entertained by the horses!

Beautiful old but renovated farmhouse on acres. Well -equipped kitchen, great weather for eating outside at the patio table in back or sunroom table in front. Landscaped with good outdoor living possibilities. The sunroom at the front of the house was used by everyone, especially after the toddler was asleep, but whenever we were there.
We used the 3 bedrooms and the sleeper sofa in the living room for our family of 8 adults. The toddler had her inflatable toddler bed, though a packnplay was available there for younger babies.
Our kids and we loved our visit there, a relaxing getaway from the city.
Thank you.

We had a very enjoyable stay. The house was spacious, comfortable, and clean. It had a farmhouse feel, with many upgrades. Media and internet connections allowed for streaming while checking email for work. Furnishings were comfortable, rooms were private, and the property was well maintained. Made smores with the kids at night in the fireplace. We were 20 minutes from the Biltmore and Arboretum. The horse boarding next door allowed their horses to graze, and we were able to pet the horses across the fence. Although it felt rural, yet we were close to supermarkets, restaurants, theatres, etc. We will definitely look to stay here again.

The farmhouse and surrounding property was perfect for our family. The open fields and horses on all sides of the house reminded me of my childhood home a few miles down the road. It was quiet and somewhat secluded yet convenient to restaurants, grocery stores, etc. We will definitely return to this beautiful farmhouse.

My family loved staying here. The kids had room to romp outside and the house was lovely. We were in the area for a wedding and this suited us just perfectly. Lots of amenities close by, but away from the fray. We would stay again!

I love the quiet, country estate and my family loved it too. We ended being together for a memorial service and it was the perfect location to spend quality time with family and play games that were provided. We especially loved sitting around the firepit.

Great relaxing getaway
My family and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend at The Farmhouse.
What a perfect setting for relaxation and enjoying the North Carolina climate and surroundings. This property was close to shopping for groceries and added amenities, even though not much more was needed. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and preparing meals. The beds were super comfortable. The house had a great enclosed front porch to sit and read while enjoying the surroundings. Jenny was super easy to communicate with. She wanted to make sure we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. I highly recommend this property and this great hostess.

2021 Family vacation at the Farmhouse
The house absolutely perfect. It provided a wonderful place for our family to spend the week. We spent hours on the porch - reading, talking and eating. We enjoyed watching the horses in the yard around us. The house was also well located with easy access to Asheville and hiking. We would definitely return for a future gathering!

A little horsing around
We absolutely adored our little country getaway-it was exactly what we needed after 3 weeks of holiday hustle & bustle!
A fire pit (with horses to boot), followed by a morning of breakfast coffee & sweet rolls on the patio was the perfect scenario.

Perfect quiet family getaway!
Our family loved our time at the farm. The home is well kept, clean, oozing with history, and has several areas for gathering. Our boys (ages 7/4/2) loved watching the horses graze in the pasture next door and were even lucky enough to watch some riding lessons on our hike to the river! We enjoyed bonfires in the fire pit, exploring the family farm, and tossing a football around in the yard. Cannot recommend this property, and hosts, too highly for those looking to explore Asheville while having some R&R!

a lovely place for a family holiday
Three adult siblings and spouses gathered here for a Thanksgiving week visit with our mother, who is in her 90s. The farmhouse is beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen had enough room for us to cook the holiday meal together, something we love doing, and there are enough sitting areas so that people could be together or have some solitude as desired. One of the living room recliners was perfect for Mom. And the views are beautiful. We'll be back.

Perfect Stay
If you are looking for a relaxing property that is within 10 minutes of Asheville. This is it! It is quiet. Awesome property to chill with friends. Well maintained. Very clean!!! We had coffee each morning in the sunroom. We even got to watch the horses and riders practice on the course. The house is right in the middle of a horse farm. So it was really cool to watch them graze and train! We were at Sierra Nevada in no time. River access if close to the house but you do have to drive to it. The river close to the house is perfect for SUP or Kayaking. Grocery stores close! Comfortable parking. We loved this place!

The Farmhouse
This Farmhouse was accurately portrayed on the VRBO website. It is a beautiful serene atmosphere up on a hill overlooking the horse corals and the mountains. It is spacious with many picturesque areas for conversation. I contacted the owner many times through the process and she was always available and went above and beyond expectations.

Stunning house with great room
Absolutely loved this house. It has a ton of room - a nice sized eat-in kitchen, a family room and a living room w/dining room (opposite corners so people can space out). A lovely upstairs bedroom suite with its own AC, so all rooms stay cool
House is super clean and well stocked (coffee pot, toaster, pots, pans, dishes, glasses).
the porch is sealed off so 4-season, but has a nice view of the farms and horses
Location was great - 20 minutes to Asheville or Pisgah/Arden.
Hosts were super helpful
The only drawback, but I think its an issue of the area, is the WiFi speed is not stunning - tv streaming broke up at times and if I had to do a lot of work remotely (especially video calls), it could be an issue
Would 1000% stay here again - my daughter called it the perfect house. Nicer than ours :)

Outstanding!
We’ve rented some very nice properties from Maui to NYC and everywhere in between. This one ranks at the top. The setting is gorgeous, as others have described. Yet it was very convenient for our explorations of the area. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay at The Farmhouse. It was perfect.

Beautiful surroundings and yet close to everything
We spent two nights at the Farm House. The first impression when you come up the drive is how beautiful the setting is. The house is on a small hill, facing open fields, surroundedby a well landscaped yard. There is a horse farm across the driveway and it was great to see the horses from afar. The french broad river is walking distrance and a great bonus for this house. While the area is secluded and surrounded by greenery, the location is just a few miles from the main roads, shops, airport, and Sierra Nevada.
The enclosed front porch is a great location to sip a cup of coffee and enjoy amazing old trees in the front.
The VRBO pictures are accurate. Everything was well organized and clean. We had plenty of towels and everyone commented on how much space we had to move around.
We received the door entry code before days before we arrived and Jenny has very clear instructions available in the kitchen.
Jenny was a great host, responsive, and easy to communicate with. We recommend the Farm House and will have no issues returning when we are in Asheville again.

Awesome farmhouse
Beautiful location with easy access to the great mtn biking areas - Pisgah, DuPont, and Bent Creek - all within 20min drive. Same for downtown Asheville and the brewery scene. Home is comfortable and spacious.

The Farmhouse exceeded my expectations!
Jenny was very kind and gracious. The home was very warm and inviting. We had a great evening around the fire pit. We played Horse Shoes and Corn Hole, until the sun set.

Charming Farmhouse
My son is in the military and on deployment on the other side of the world so to keep our minds occupied while he’s gone, I took his girlfriend and her mom on a trip to Asheville.
We LOVED the farmhouse. The owner Jenny was super responsive and helped with every question. The Farmhouse is charming and peaceful surrounded by horses out in the pastures. It had everything we needed. We had plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need. There is a fire pit, corn hole and horse shoes. My favorite spot was having coffee on the heated front porch while watching the sun rise and the horses graze. So relaxing. Close to everything. I felt like I was far away but right around the corner. Plenty of shops 5 minutes away. I will definitely be back again!!!!!!
