Served our need for a place to sleep overnight.
Being close to the highway, it was a little loud from traffic noise.

The Covert Tavern is right off N4. Pub opens in the afternoon with live music and karaoke later in the evening til ... Fish and chips, delicious, view of a family of swans from the booths. Easy drive to the Dublin Airport, 50 minutes or so.
Fresh paint a little overwhelming but temporary. Couldn't open the window shade in the morning. Lodging is under construction/renovation,

Nothing not to dislike

It is a scam, the place is closed down, and i emailed for a refund, and got no reply.

Claire was the most lovely host so accommodating the covert is in a great location and I’d definitely recommend to anyone travelling to mullingar for a night or 2

Nothing it was a time i will pray to forget zero is the best number to rate the helpfulness of the host
She changed my room without informing me. Booked for a triple room she said i was only staying for 1 day there is a family who want it for 4 days. The new room had no keys she said she was unable to find the keys so room wasn't not able to lock. Then when ask about the keys she said i was giving her stress. I took my bag and got another hotel in town will not recommend this was awful.

Lovely bar area with big tv to watch rugby match
Attitude of owner when she was told we had booked with Booking. com
We had paid the rate asked on Booking but she felt it wasn't enough - said it wouldn't cover the cost of washing the sheets.
Implied if we were decent would pay extra and when that comment was ignored we felt she really didn't want us there
The room had a double bed underneath the Tv with two single duvets and two single beds with only mattress covers on them facing the tv and two of the most threadbare towels I have ever seen in my life left for us. They were disgraceful.
We had intended spending the evening in the bar but the owner's attitude forced us to pay forty euro for taxis to Mullingar
In hindsight we would have been better off just booking somewhere in town (and one should, especially now as the rates have jumped from 80 to 120 for that room!)
And that's room only.
Do not recommend and will not be back

Great place

From the start we were greeted with kindness, from Catherine the host to the locals down for a few quiet ones, it really is a must visit spot in the midlands. Lovely clean rooms and an excellent bar with a beautiful fire, absolute bargain.
What did I not like ? The fact we didn’t stay another night !

Very friendly, accomodating and interesting host Catherine.. Bedroom recently refurbished beautifully. Beds very comfortable. Spacious, modern, clean ensuite bathroom. Bar very cosy and welcoming.

Not a lot.
The proprietress was unwelcoming—her connection to Booking was down and she wasn’t expecting us. regardless, she bordered on being rude and inconsiderate. The room was marginal and totally overpriced. Finally, the WiFi was spotty.

This is cheap, well place between Dublin and West coast (Siglo) and Derek is very kind.
The room and equipment are what they are but, the price is low, so this is what we expected.
Fine for a stop night

Clean enough with a decent shower.
Room very basic. No tea making facilities, in fact even had to go and ask for a glass to put some water in. People crashing in the main door in the middle of the night.

I had a great sleep the bed was unbelievably comfortable the man working the bar was a great help and the lady working in accommodation was a delight
Nothing I had a great stay

The Covert is being renovated , we must have stayed in one of the refurbished room, clean comfortable with modern en suite. It is ideally located on the way to Dublin and close to the local tourist interests.
Although located on a major road the rooms are quiet with no noise from the road.

A good place to stay if you need to stay overnight on your way to other side of Ireland. It is very easy to find, with free parking just outside of the house, very good price and large room with everything you need for one night stay. Also a later check in is possible. Just give a call to very friendly guy before you come and he will wait for you. :) Easy and fast check in. Thank you.
Everything was good.

Could do with 2 pillows per bed instead of 1.

Nothing
We booked and paid for 4 rooms and only got 2 on arrival for a group of 8 people! Staff did not care about this and have refused to issue a refund for the 2 missing rooms!
Beds were clean but bathroom had no toilet roll and the drawers were flighty (pic included)
