The property was just what we were looking for. Our family planned a few days in Sandusky to go to cedar point and the beach. The property is located minutes from both. We had a great time and would definitely come back!

A nice house, perfect for a family vacation.

Location not quite what I expected. Remodel was ok but could use a little improvement. Very sparse on kitchen supplies and weren’t very organized. 2 bedrooms upstairs have no closets😩. But overall experience was good and served our purpose for the week we stayed

Stayed here for a college graduation. Three generations of family. Loved the house. Nice bedrooms and privacy. Master bedroom perfect for grandma. Big dining room table was great for late night card playing.

The house was just as advertised! Clean and well appointed!

We stayed here for a girls' night away. This home was comfortable, beautifully decorated and the perfect size for our group.

I was shocked pulling up to the property to see the neighborhood is so trashy. Its on par with a trailer park. Houses are run down, old signage from lost elections is up on a gazebo thats falling apart and its you see first thing turning onto the street. Jarring BUT the inside of the house is as pictured so no surprises there.
Communication was non-existent on vrbo, i resorted to messaging the host on Abnb & they responded immediately when i never heard back from them on vrbo.
It weirds me out they tell us not to strip the beds and put the sheets in the washer??
The oven is old but they fixed the door issue another guest had. I also didnt see any dog hair so that was nice.
Overall, the house is nice on the inside, plenty of parking & when i called the host he answered.

We loved the house! The sleep spaces were perfect. We did find an old shirt in a corner of the downstairs bedroom and quite a bit of dust on the TV stand. We could tell it was dusted, except for under the legs of the TV where it was very visible. The oven also needs cleaning. There are two safety issues we need to mention. The dishwasher is not secured at the top, so when you pull out the tray with dishes, the dishwasher tips forward. Also, when we opened the stove door, the handle came off and the panel over the door dropped to the floor. We had to pull the oven door open by pulling on the screws at the top. I held the door down so it would not spring closed while my brother-in-law and nephew used a small screwdriver to put back the panel and handle. However, it may still need adjusting to be safe for future guests.

Pillow case dirty. Don’t know if linens were changed. Blanket in basket smelled like dogs. Fruit flies in the house. Smoke detector hanging from kitchen ceiling. Location was perfect for our event.

It was a nice location for friends to gather from all over while in town for a funeral. Lots of rooms, bed, and comfortable place to hang out and chat together. Very clean. Could use more outside lighting, as we arrived late at night, but very nice location and helpful manager.

We were looking for a gathering place for our family - my 2 daughters, their hubs, and 7 grandchildren all 8 and under in age! This place worked perfectly. Grandpa and Grandma had the main floor bedroom, each couple had an upstairs bedroom and we had the kiddos in the 3rd bedroom upstairs. We spent 2 days at Cedar Point and another at Put-in-Bay and visited other places within driving distance. The dining room table plus snack bar accommodated us all for meals. Only downside?.... wish the yard was bigger for little ones to run ... but we were always on the go and it really wasn't an issue. Place was clean ... a little tired ... needed a little attention (burned out lightbulb, dishwasher wobbly, a drip under the kitchen sink .... little stuff) but basically good - clean comfortable beds, and room for all.

We stayed 1 night for a wedding and wish we could have stayed longer. We enjoyed the outdooe fire table.

We enjoyed our stay at the property. It worked well for our group of three families with six adults and seven school age kids. Location was convenient for Cedar Point, Nickel Plate Beach, and day trips to Cleveland.
4.8
Great location with just a short drive from Cedar Point. We were a party of 10 and there were enough beds for everyone and we love being able to all sit at the table for breakfast.
4.8
The place is decorated super cute, is close to the water and had plenty of space for our group to spread out. However, some things in the house need repaired.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would consider renting again.

Location to Cedar Point and parks was great! It allowed us to take break and then return to Cedar Point without a lot of traveling. Although having parks near by was a huge plus for kids and pets, the yard almost didn't exist and was very small and the back "patio" was almost on the street. No place for dogs or kids to play. The home was super dusty and the washer (front load) had mold and wasn't discovered until we were trying to wash bath towels. The cleaners need to do a better job. For kids who need to run and play, you have to go to a park (same for dogs). If you have a big dog, this place is not for you. For anyone just wanting a place to sleep and eat, it's ok. If you want enjoy family outdoors, you will have to go to a park.

The property was as pictured and a great size for our family. It was not as clean as we had expected. It was far from sanitized as described in the ad. It needs a good cleaning from top to bottom. One suggestion our family would give is to mount the tv in the livingroom on the wall for safety sake with a 4 year old and a one year old toddler it was a concern. Loved the location and neighborhood.

This property was as listed and perfect for our family of 10. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. We love the outdoors and the patio was great both to eat on and to relax at the end of the day. The neighbor was friendly and nice to talk to. We were close to many fun things to do and were able to enjoy a nice quiet setting. The private park was a nice addition for a short walk and beautiful sunsets.

We had a beautiful stay in this lovely 4 bedroom home and the host, Jimmy, was accommodating and quick to answer any questions we had. The full size refrigerator with ice and filtered water was so helpful and although we didn’t have time to utilize the patio and grill, it looked lovely. The large dining room table made a perfect “command center” for our family, in addition to being a beautiful place to enjoy a meal. The off street parking is actually a drive through spot, so that was really convenient. Plenty of water pressure and hot water for our showers, lots of little extras (Kuerig coffee maker and coffee pods, shampoo, paper plates, etc) and very clean.
Our absolute favorite hidden “gem” about the property is that it is 8 miles from Cedar Point AND there is a “resident area” entrance to the parking lot that allowed us to skip past the line to the parking toll booths and to leave the park! ( take Hwy 6 and turn off onto Cedar point road going in, reverse going out) We had 3 cars in front of us on one day only, out of five, and the other days we were able to get into the parking area without anyone in front of us! And when you leave, it is so quick with just 7-10 cars instead of the rest of the parking lot trying to get out!
We enjoyed our time here and plan to use this lovely home again on our next Cedar Point get away! Thanks Jimmy! :)

The property was perfect for our group of 12 (6 adults and 6 kids ranging 4-11). The kids loved the short walk to the park and water and would have spent all day there if we let them! Short drive to Cedar Point and other local places. Highly recommend the Cooke-Dorn House and the Merry-Go-Round Museum. We will absolutely be back to this house in the future!

We are lifelong girlfriends and we enjoyed our stay immensely at Hemingway House. There were no disappointments.

House was clean, nicely decorated and well appointed with necessities. We enjoyed our getaway

Just wanted to let you know that the downstairs inside the house is handicap accessible. My husband could use his wheelchair to get into the first floor bedroom and doorway of the bathroom.

We enjoyed our weekend getaway to this house in Huron. We had a birthday party for my 12-year-old and her friends, and this house worked perfectly. My husband and I stayed in the downstairs master, and all of the girls slept upstairs. With 4 beds upstairs, there was enough room for everyone.
The house was cleaned well, and we also appreciated all of the seating at the dining room table - perfect for a large group. We were most impressed with how well-stocked the kitchen was. Often, we visit rentals that don't have enough soap or knives or bowls. This kitchen had everything we needed, including multiple cutting boards, a pizza cutter and an ice cream scoop. These may seem like small things, but they made everything easier.
The house does seem to have difficulty with heating and cooling. The first floor was very cold. The owner supplied space heaters, but I was thankful we had brought a heated blanket. The cold seems to radiate up from the floors.
We also didn't love the area the house was in. Some of the houses were a bit run down, and the neighborhood seems cramped. The rental home and driveway were some of the nicest in the area.
Overall, we would recommend this rental and the kind owner who answered all of my questions quickly.

My family met for a gathering, and there were 9 of us. The home is in a very close neighborhood,
which is probably why there is quiet time. The home was very neat with lots of room for our family to eat and play games. The kitchen was good size, but we had to purchase 2 nonstick pans to cook breakfast with due to the pans being pretty worn. All of the beds were used during our stay. All beds upstairs squeak every time you move which kept some awake on and off all night. The room with 2 beds in it is the worst. One bed slants when you lay in it and my brother was rolling towards his son all night. The bed felt like it was going to give out and actually placed pillows under the bed to assist with this. The frame is buckling and looks as though it was not even put together correctly, as it is bent, and this is also on the second bed. There are no box springs on any upstairs beds either which was not supportive as it could have been. My brother and his nephew are both of average size and weight. The thermostat is upstairs, so it gets quite warm on the second level and chilly on the main floor. The home is within 4 miles of Sandusky for lots of shops and food. We visited in December, so we didn't go to any beaches or spend much time outside. Overall, it was a nice location.

The kitchen water did not work for two days.
Pots and pans are totally unacceptable and plates and glasses are inadequate for the stated capacity.
The house was constantly cold, the front door had snow and a constant breeze coming in.
There was no local or network TV access on any of the TVs.

We had a fun experience staying at this place with our small ladies/ cousins group. The house was nicely furnished with plenty supplies and and the beds were really comfortable. It was a little cold and drafty on the main floor due to the the heating system managing to only heat the upstairs. There’s space heaters in the closet that you can bring out and use. The lake is only a few minute walk from the house which was really nice. Definitely would recommend for a lake vacation for all ages…

Very clean and quiet. Also very safe to stay. Above all, awsome location for lake Erie; I saw the sunrising yesterday morning around 8 am with my friends. Want to say it was just amazing. Highly recommend this place for you planning family trip and even church retreat with a small group of 14 college students. Pray you may see sunrising too. :)

we loved the decor and the comforts of the place

This property was very clean, had plenty of beds for our family and was loaded with tons of extras for just in case. (pillows, blankets, and cleaning supplies) It even had baby gates in one closet. The decor was just as the pictures showed.
My only disappointment was that it wasn't as close to the lake as the pictures made it look.

The house was comfortable and clean. Nice location and not a far drive to other fun things in the area. We enjoyed a relaxing week away. Comfortable house and nice little neighborhood. Just a nice time in a nice house. Our dog enjoyed taking walks and finding squirrels to bark at! Which just sent the little squirrels running.
4.8
We stayed here with friends for three nights and we all enjoyed it. We found the property to be very clean, comfy, nicely decorated and well equipped. Every day we took the very short walk to the beach and enjoyed the park and lovely view of the lake there for a bit before going out to explore the area. We also enjoyed Nickle Beach, Vermilion, Milan, and eating at Berardi’s and Pied Piper. We had a cookout one evening and found everything we needed in the lovely large kitchen.
4.8
We had room for the whole family, even those ones who just visited for the day. The kids loved the playground and park. It was too cool and raining to go swim, but had fun on the beach. Us older kids enjoyed walking the quiet streets. We were located close to the activies we planned on doing. Great place to spend son time away from the city.

House was clean and well outfitted. Great location close to the park and beach. Check in process was easy and our host provided wonderful information about the house and area. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

We had 4 adults and 3 kids in our group and this house was the perfect size. Everything in the house was so clean and it had everything we needed. The location is great. We loved walking to the neighborhood beach/park. It’s such an easy and short drive to Cedar Point.

Really loved this place. Just a couple short blocks to Rye beach. The only problem with this stay is that the vacation was to short. I would recommend if you plan on cooking your meals here to bring a non stick pan, I ended up buying a electric skillet. People have been rough on their cookware.
