Great Kitchen facility

The staff were very nice people, pleasant & helpful. The place was quiet & in good location. The kitchen is big. You can check in until fairly late which is helpful for many travellers.
The beddings at at least one of the beds of our room had not been changed (they looked used & there were hair on the pillowcase etc), but when we mentioned it to the staff, they were very apologetic & changed the beddings at all our beds straight away.

the location was unbeatable
I have stayed in over 60 hostels, and worked in hostels for over a year. This hostel easily is in the bottom 3 I have ever had the experience of staying at. To put it plainly, this hostel lives up to the reputation hostels had decades ago, scaring our parents from ever staying in one.
the bathrooms had mould, walls had peeling paint, the bedding was appalling and filthy. we had to peel off some debris and hair from our single sheet. The fact that they make you take your own bedsheets and pillow off before you leave, and kick you out of your room from 10-3 everyday even if you stay multiple nights is ridiculous. I have run cleaning programs at hostels- this is NOT NORMAL. you can clean a room properly with people still allowed to be in occupied beds.
the atmosphere left everything to be desired, no sense of community, no socialising, no help whatsoever from the hostel to give advice on the surrounding area. Honestly, I would never recommend anyone stay here again. I camped the night before in a tent in the rain and had a better stay. the fact we paid so much money for a stay here, will haunt me.

Good location
Old, not well maintained, strange interior decorating

Massive big kitchen / dining area. Great to relax before going to bed.
All good.

Staffs are super nice and helpful. They are a small business running by only two people.
When the temperature dropped suddenly, the staffs gave me one more duvet and turn up the heater immediately.
We also had a good dinner chat which makes my solo trip to Skye less lonely~

The host is really nice, and the space of the kitchen is enough.
if can add more sockets in the room would be better!

super cheap. good location.
beds are not great.

Very convenient location right by the town square where all the busses stop, supermarket around the corner. The girl behind the reception was super kind and helpful!! lots of information available about how to get to places and the laundrette came in very handy. The kitchen has a ton of utilities available. All in all we had a very comfortable stay.
Heating only goes on a few hours a day which already felt a little lacking for late september/october in Scotland. There's not really a lounge room apart from kitchen and reception which I sometimes missed. Walls etc are not very soundproof so any type of noise from others/outside kept us up a bit. The twin rooms are fir sure very expensive for the tiny rooms you're getting but for the location it's to be expected.

friendly staff, great location and kitchen
the beds were terribly uncomfortable.

Bathrooms, showers were clean and enough of them, there was hot water also.
The beds. I would have rather slept on the floor. Springs basically are piercing through you. It was reallllly uncomfortable. The room was also stuffed too much.
Check-in was only available after 4pm..
Just change the beds! Then it could be a good hostel!
