We enjoyed the time!

Gorgeous property, location is second to none - a very short distance to Cromer which is walkable or a few minutes drive. Bus services (bus stop directly outside property) are plentiful in both directions across the coast, the beach (beautiful) is around the corner. Directly opposite is a new restaurant called The White Horse which is gorgeous, for something a little less fancy you also have a charming local pub across the road - the Fishing Boat, which has a stunning hidden beer garden. The bed linen and towels were fresh and smelt lovely on arrival. Set in an attractive courtyard, we didn’t use the parking space directly outside - although even with a medium SUV type vehicle, there’s enough room. We parked around the corner at the East Runton beach car park for the week and paid £37 which was a bargain because the 7 day permit includes all local council run car parks! The East Runton car park is large with loads of overflow space, our stay was in advance of school summer holidays however. It’s easy to pull in next to the property to unload however. Overall, a beautiful property offering all the right ingredients and conveniences for a holiday by the sea in this most beautiful part of the country. As they say in Norfolk, bootiful.

Relaxing and enjoying the area

The cottage is in a great location close to the beach and there’s a good grocery store a few doors down. The cottage is cosy and done to a good standard. It was clean and bright. The only downside is that there is no outside space. The photograph shows seating area outside the house but this is where you park your car plus it’s a shared space so in reality we couldn’t sit outside which was a shame as we had fabulous weather. Otherwise highly recommended.

We had a great time at Grey Seal. We were a family of 4 (three adults, one teenager) and the property was perfectly suited for our needs. It's very well maintained, nicely decorated, very clean and very charming overall. The house is also very conveniently located: a well stocked grocery store is 25 meters away, the beach a few minutes walk and Cromer is easily in walking distance. We did some lovely walks on the Norfolk coastal path towards West Runton, Sheringham and Cromer. Communication with Mike, the owner, was superb. And the little welcome package (a bottle of wine and some snacks) was a really nice touch. Overall, a great stay and would highly recommend!

Great for short stay. A bit noisy.

Great location for a family holiday exploring coastal areas like Cromer, Sheringham, and Holt. Located close to East Runton beach and nearby to local pub and restaurants. Mike was friendly and provided all the information we needed to have a great stay. Would recommend for a family getaway.

The house was immaculately presented, with all the required amenities and an added bonus of a bottle of wine and some treats to welcome us. It was an easy walk into Cromer and very close to the beach and local amenities. All on all, we had a very enjoyable stay at Grey Seal.

We visit Norfolk annually and have stayed in many properties, it was unanimous that Grey Seal is the best one so far. The property is beautifully decorated and well equipped. We had a small hiccup during our stay that the property manager dealt with swiftly. We were unable to park at the property, but there is a car park a very short distance away. Well situated for visiting all of the North Norfolk Coast.
We had a wonderful break.

4 us of had a lovely weekend break here. Would highly recommended.

We had a lovely long weekend away. The property was perfect for us. Great location as its right next to the beach. We cooked a Sunday dinner and had everything we needed in the kitchen. Just a note on parking, we managed to park one car outside the property. Our second car we paid £34,, this was for a week.

Great property with the exception of the beds they were not the most comfortable.

A lovely cottage renovated in a modern clean style. Well equipped with good fittings and plenty of equipment and storage.
Excellent communications with owner/agent. Good local shop for essentials. We went midweek early February so all the nearby places were closed.
Parking is tight and too small for a large car (we just got our BMW X3 in)
The only real drawback is that it is directly on the main road and so we found it quite noisy

Lovely property, very close to Cromer for afternoons out but located in a nice and quiet village for those looking for a recharge. Really clear communication with host who was very accommodating, enjoyed the "welcome hamper" of wine and chocolates! Would stay here again.

House was lovely, clean on arrival and heating on ready for us and as it was a cold evening when we arrived it was perfect.
Lovely welcome pack consisting of wine, crisps and thorntons pack of brownies which I thought was lovely touch.
Location is great but as advert states the property only has parking for a small car and this is exactly right, we parked on road as much as we could but its restricted to 20 mins wait times in day time so had to in the main find other places, the green which is advertised as somewhere to park is just round the corner but never had any spaces and I'd imagine in the summer would be impossible to park anywhere other than local car park.
House itself was lovely, it was clean overall and I'd only be being extra picky if I said anything more as was fine for us.
There was a local shop (few doors down) that seemed to be open 8-9pm for essentials and a couple of bars/local club type places which we didn't visit. There is a chip shop opposite house but unfortunately it wasn't open for any period during our stay (fri-mon) which was a shame. Coffee shop again opposite was open from what we seen for a few hours sunday morning so again limited hours but its out of season now so to be expected. Sammys bar and grill opposite house looks to be completely closed down permanently which is a shame as previous reviews look to be good.
The weather was against us which meant we didn't explore as much as we wanted on foot, we did drive down into Cromer and Sherringham and had a wonder around each of these areas, can imagine they would both be wonderful in the summer.
Over all a nice break away in a well looked after home thank you

We thoroughly enjoyed our week away staying at this property. The house is conveniently located off the main road with the beach just a few mins walk away which was very handy with the kids. We enjoyed exploring the local area and coming back to a safe and clean place. It’s walkable too in under 20 minutes to Cromer and it was nice to be away from the busy areas of Cromer but having the flexibility to travel to Cromer as it was a short distance away.
The house was perfect and as described, Mike was very clear and helpful with all the information and even provided some useful information on places to eat nearby and things to do. Would definitely recommend this property!

Just a brilliant holiday had in North Norfolk, The Grey Seal, was situated perfectly to visit lots of different places around us, and to walk loads.

Wonderful East Runton Townhouse
We stayed here for 4 nights with our young family on our mini-moon. Communication with the owners was entirely straightforward and prompt. The property itself is nicely placed, shops, pubs and beach all within a short walk. The townhouse was immaculately clean, with modern decor and has everything you need to prep food/drink etc. We had a wonderful stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place to anyone looking to stay in the vicinity of Cromer.

Perfect property for a family stay, location a few minutes from the beach is ideal, plus with fish and chip shop opposite. The house itself is comfortable with everything we needed and nicely decorated. Would recommend and we hope to stay again.

Great location, very close to 2 pubs, a Fish & Chips shop, local shop and beach. 5 min drive from Cromer or a 20 minute walk.
The property is cosy and has everything you need for a short stay or even longer. The property is over 3 levels, with a double bedroom (with ensuite) on the first floor and a separate bathroom and a further 2 bedrooms on the top floor. One is a double room and the other can accommodate 2 people as it’s a single bed with another pull out bed underneath. (This room also has a TV with Netflix). I would say it’s more suitable for children or friends sharing then a couple but still very comfortable. (It is advertised as a double room but it’s really a trundle so one person is lower than the other). The property has a large TV in the living room and a further TV in the small bedroom on the top floor.
On the Ground Floor the front door opens into the dining, kitchen and living area which is open plan with a separate utility room which has a microwave, sink and washer/dryer and dishwasher.
Parking - You can park outside the front of the house (outside the frontdoor but it’s tight for a big car. It’s best to park in the public car park across the road , it’s 2 mins walk from the house. It’s £28 for a weeks parking (via North Norfolk Council) which is good value and you can use your parking ticket at any of the North Norfolk car parks which is very useful.
We were staying with a couple of our elderly relatives and although they have limited mobility the house is still suitable, although the top floor is better for those who can climb 2 flights of stairs.
Overall we had a lovely time and would definitely stay at Grey Seal again.

Super modern accommodation but still felt full of character. A bit of a squeeze for 5 adults, but we aren’t big and it worked fine for a short stay. Plenty of crockery and glasses! Great location with local store and chippy, didn’t have time to try the village pubs. Nice welcome bottle and snack in the fridge too - thank you.

Very well organised, great decor and great location 20 min walk into Cromer and 1 min from the beach there are some nice fish restaurants very close by, there is also some great walks with stunning views well worth a visit

Four night break
We enjoyed our stay at Grey Seal in East Runton. Very easy check in and communication with manager was excellent. House was very clean and well equipped. It’s a pity there is no where outside to sit but you can’t have everything. The house is in a good position, two minutes walk to the beach. You can walk into Cromer along the beach in about 20 minutes, and its not far from anywhere in the north of Norfolk. Grey seal is on the main road from Cromer to Sheringham and is busy sometimes during the day, can imagine it would be very busy during the summer season.
