Convenience to our friends and availability of refreshments
Church bell chiming every hour through the night

We brought out little dog Rupert and he was welcomed by everyone. There was a cute little doggie pack with some lovely treats and a ball in it which he loved. The food was fabulous, the bed large and comfy, and breakfast was fantastic.
Really nothing to improve on. Despit it being the end of a busy bank holiday Monday we still got a great service with friendly energy and great food.
4.2
Really comfortable bed. Great bathroom; shower with good water pressure. Good breakfast. Modern room, with good power options - mains sockets with USB-A and USB-C charging on both sides of the bed.
Service in the restaurant was a little slow

Warm welcome on arrival. The food was lovely both lunch and breakfast, room was fine big bed and TV....room was very warm.
No toilet paper in bathroom, but was sorted after I informed the staff, also no hand soap on sink. We were in room 6, which we had to go outside to get to, did not like the extractor fan we had to walk past......The shower could have done with a better clean, some mould

Historic building, full of character and tastefully furnished - right at the heart of the village. Ample parking, warm welcome from lovely hosts and really dog friendly. The doggy welcome packs were well received! Lovely large bedroom with comfy bed and smart bathroom. Dinner in the bar and breakfast were good quality. Overall a great place to stay.
Nothing to fault. Perhaps the dog charges were a bit high, but the welcome packs were excellent.

Warm welcome from all the staff for the dog as well. Room very comfortable & clean. Dinner & breakfast excellent.

The room was lovely. As anticipated, there was noise from the bar but the tv soon covered that. The ambiance and service in the bar was good, particularly for a woman traveling for business on her own. They booked a taxi for me on request, although that was outside of their service. The staff were very friendly. The room was warm and comfortable.
I have a thing about needing a hard fried egg for breakfast. It's a simple request. They couldn't deliver across two days. I refer to this as I LOVE my fried eggs, provided they're cooked right. In fact, they were worse on the second day than the first. Spoilt my breakfast.

It was warm and welcoming. The rom was very well equipped with plenty of;
space,
hooks for hanging,
Mirrors
Plugs -added bonus being near a mirror for hair styling.
Towels were lovely and soft and a great size.
The staff were very accommodating and very welcoming.
Being on a junction meant it was quite noisy but can’t be helped,
The windows appeared to be single pane which meant either have windows shut with condensation or open with noise and be cold or waste heat.

Das Frühstück. Schöne Auswahl.
Das Zimmer war ganz schön. Sowie die Badausstattung
Die Nähe zu unseren Ausflugszielen.
Das Zimmer war nicht so gut in Schuss. Hätte sauberer sein können. Stuhl, Tassen etc. Alles staubig.

everything lovely hotel and pub

Good size room, lovely pub.
All good!

Character.Rooms a bit pricey.
Short staffed which affected service. Only one tea bag. 😟in room. Breakfast nice but service slow due to only one person front of house. Daughters room noisy due to kitchen music being played loud early in the morning. They did complain in the morning.
4.2
Spot on. Nicely presented and well cooked. I asked for my eggs poached and they were perfect.
Maybe a full mushroom, instead of half. Fruit juice to start or more choice of cereals. But these are very minor quibbles.
4.2
All good
Its a nice property

Staff extremely helpful. Room very comfortable. Food pretty decent. Good wine selection.

Great boutique hotel with nice and helpful staff, excellent food in the restaurant and for breakfast, fantastic champagne

The staff were all really friendly and helpful. I was checking out before breakfast time and the manager agreed to make me a roll to take away.
The manager also agreed to put some of my food items in the fridge as I was going on to an event after.
I had dinner there and the food was delicious.
The room was very dusty and full of cobwebs.
The bathroom sink was blocked and took ages to drain.
There was a strange textured mark on the duvet cover, so I turned it around and then when I woke up the next day my nightdress was covered in the textured mark, which meant it must have been on the sheet too.
The blinds were ill fitting and there was lighting on the building. This meant that my room was very bright, which disturbed my sleep.
4.2
Central location and comfy bed
I think £200 is slighly over the top for a standard room

The breakfast was very good. The bed very comfortable. The staff friendly and helpful.
The reason for the lower score was the evening meal. We ordered steak which i could't cut very overcooked, we did get a discount which was very fair but it spoilt our evening as we went for the racing at Lingfield and a good evening meal was part of our enjoyment .
4.2
great overnight stay
some parts needed replacing ie carpet and doors painted

First rate. Could not be bettered.
Quirky layout of room not ideal for elderly but …
