About this apartment rental
Our property consists of two apartments, of approximately 60 sq m each, and of equal characteristics. Apartment "A" (photos 1 - 8), is on the first floor of the family villa, and apartment "B" (photos 9 - 15) on the ground floor. Both were completely renovated in 2011.
Our villa is located in the upper part of Herculaneum, in a quiet residential area near the "Vesuvius National Park", at a hilly altitude of about 200 meters, in an area full of charm and history, away from traffic and noise but only 3 km from the archaeological site and 2 km from the center of Herculaneum. Nearby shops, supermarkets, pizzerias and typical restaurants of Neapolitan cuisine. The privileged position, central to the main tourist destinations in the region, makes it an ideal starting point for your excursions. The nearby highway (the Herculaneum exit is only 2 km away), allows you to easily reach Pompeii, Oplonti and Naples in less than 15 minutes, the airport and the port of loading for the islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida. With the same highway, in about half an hour, you can reach the Sorrento peninsula and the Amalfi "Divine Coast" with pearls: Amalfi, Positano and Ravello. And then, Salerno, Paestum and its temples, Caserta and its palace, Pozzuoli and Solfatara, Cuma, the lakes of Averno and Lucrino. Rome is only two hours by car and a few minutes, however, the archaeological sites of Herculaneum and Pompeii, the National Park and the crater of Vesuvius.
The sea is only 4 km away, with the characteristic volcanic black sand beaches. Those most easily accessible, however, are about 6 km away, on the coast of Torre del Greco. Here the coastal road runs alongside the sea and allows you to easily reach a dozen beaches, some free, others equipped, with bathing establishments and convenient parking. In the area there are numerous clubs, bars, pizzerias and restaurants, where you can eat typical products at fairly low prices.
The apartment is served by bus no. 176 which allows you to reach the center of Herculaneum (2 km), the archaeological site and the train station of the Circumvesuviana (3 km), which connects Herculaneum with Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento, Oplonti and Stabiae. Public transport, in Naples and its province, but in general in the Campania region, is not very efficient therefore we recommend using the car for excursions.
