About this house rental
This new home is located in the heart of the downtown historic district on Block Island, RI. It was constructed in 2020, has 4 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, and is steps away from restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and the beach. Spectacular ocean views from first and second floor porches, two outdoor showers, and central heat and air conditioning.
The owner runs a construction business out of the adjacent lot and is respectful of the fact that there are renters next door. There is no actual construction going on, but there are trucks coming in and out as well as the loading and unloading of materials and heavy equipment.
We rent weekly in the summer with shorter stays available in the off season.

The first floor living area is a spacious open kitchen/living room. This bright and airy home has plenty of natural light and was decorated in beach cottage style. Ocean views can be found from virtually every room in the house. The inviting living room has a seat for everyone with a full couch, a love seat, and an over sized chair. The living room also has a 50" flat screen smart TV with Netflix capability. The living room opens up to a spacious front porch with views of Harbor Pond and Crescent Beach to Jerry’s Point.
The first floor master suite has a king bed and its own private bath with a tiled shower and a large, marble top vanity. The bedroom has its own access to a shared porch with amazing ocean views.
The second floor king bedroom has its own private bath with tiled shower and large, stone top vanity. This room has sliding doors opening up to it's own private balcony with ocean views.
The second floor queen also has it's own private balcony. This bedroom shares a bath, with a shower/bathtub combo, with the adjacent second floor bedroom.
The second floor twin room is a spacious room with two twin beds that shares a bath with the second floor queen.
The kitchen is outfitted with stainless steel appliances, a quartz counter top, dishwasher, a large island, and plenty of cabinet space. The kitchen comes equipped with pots and pans, dishware, silverware, and common spices. The large, counter height, dining table can accommodate 8 guests comfortably.
The basement provides a second living area with a TV, full sized bed, full bathroom, and a small kitchenette.
Your vacation home comes with all bed linens, bath towels, beach chairs, and beach towels.
The close proximity to many island attractions gives you the option to leave your car at home or bring you car, park it, and relax...

For our stay there were 9 girls. Melanie the host was super attentive and always responds quickly. This home was so clean and exactly what you see in the photos! It’s right in town making it easy to walk to the beach, grocery store, or restaurant. The views from the first floor porch and second floor balconies were gorgeous. I will definitely stay again!

Staying at this property is always wonderful. The house is clean and comes with a wide variety of amenities (chairs, towels (shower and beach), clamming rakes, corn hole, etc). Location is perfect for walking downtown and eating out without having to drive. 5 stars.

This is a beautiful house in the most perfect location - steps from Old Harbor and the beach and with plenty to do, see, eat in the neighborhood. The house is bigger than the pictures do it justice, and there’s an awesome downstairs with bedroom, TV, couch, kitchen and playroom/games. If you want a gorgeous house with amazing ocean views and steps to the best restaurants and bars, then this is the place to stay! We can’t wait to be back again next year!

We had a wonderful long weekend stay! The house was beautifully appointed for our large group. The host was very responsive during our stay. And the location was the best part! There are ocean views from the front porch, where we spent most of our time! Would absolutely recommend and hope to return!

The Reeves property is in an ideal location on the island. Close to the ferry, Crescent beach, and centralized restaurants. The beautifully appointed interior makes for a clean and spacious gathering space. The interior is only second to the views from the front porch. This relaxing inviting retreat is perfect for family to gather and have access to the best of Block Island. Melanie, the host, is attentive and responsive.

This is our third year staying at the Reeves house. The house is great, and gets better every year. We really enjoyed the new basement, games, and extra space. Great addition to the house. Amazing convenience and excellent hosts! Cant wait to for our next stay.

This was our second stay at this property and hopefully not our last! The interior is open, bright and clean. Plenty of room for one or multiple families (and child safe for little ones!). The new downstairs in-law apartment was great for hanging out as a group and provides extra privacy for guests (it has a private entrance and direct access to the kitchen so it isn’t isolated from the main house). The location is perfect for walking to everything in town and to beach access points. There are construction vehicles in a neighboring lot but we hardly noticed them, very little truck activity or noise the entire week. Given the immediate proximity to several bars and the grocery store, it’s surprising that the property is still very peaceful and quiet, being set just enough back from the road up a hill. Dreaming about our wonderful Block Island summer stay in this house will get me through winter!

This was our first trip to Block Island and we had the best time! The house was in the most convenient location with a quick walk to shopping, restaurants, grocery - anything we needed. The house was very clean and quiet. The basement was a bonus for the kids with basketball and an air hockey table. Communicating with Melanie was seamless and we'd love to come back.

We stayed at Melanie’s house for Block Island Race week. We were racing in the regatta and had 9 people staying at the house - 3 couples and 3 singles. It was absolutely perfect! The basement area downstairs is much larger than we expected, you could fit some aero beds down there and has a little kitchenette with couches and TV. (Could be great if you have kids staying and want to give them their own space to hangout). The water views from the porch area were an unexpected surprise! We were a stone throw away from the grocery store, bagel store, bars and downtown. We loved the open concept, which was perfect when we were hanging out for breakfast, dinners or just hanging out. We’d definitely stay here again!
Some tips, if you’re planning on cooking - bring dish sponges, Tupperware and a good wine opener. Also, bring laundry detergent/dryer sheets.
We also had an extra large RTIC cooler that we kept beverages in (beer and water/seltzers), so you don’t have people constantly opening up the refrigerator and easier to grab.

We really enjoyed our stay at Melanie’s house on Block Island. The house was in the heart of downtown and close to all the shops and restaurants. It sits up high so the views were absolutely breathtaking. The house is modern and has all the amenities you need. We had a great stay at the Reeves house. The property was walkable to everywhere and downtown was less than 10 minutes. The house has very spacious the rooms and bathrooms are large and comfortable. They supply everything you need including the linens and beach towels which was a huge plus! The kitchen is fully stocked and open to the whole house. The porches and balcony’s were lovely to enjoy. Melanie was also very attentive to all messages and questions and a wonderful host. We had no complaints and would definitely stay here again!

As a premier host on VRBO myself for a summer rental I own I can tell you this was a great experience all the way around. Our host Melanie always replied to any questions immediately.
The house was clean, newer and well equipped. The location is a 10 if you want to be in walking distance to the grocery store, liquor store and endless bars and restaurants.
Highly recommend this rental. Look forward to renting again next season.

Everything about this house is perfect. The grocery store and about ten restaurants are right out your front door. Easy walk to the beach and the rest of downtown. The house is spacious, clean, open and airy with wonderful views. Very quiet for being right in town too! We traveled with two toddlers and the house was appropriate/safe for them (a trouble with other houses we’ve rented in the past), with room to play inside and outside. This house could easily fit two families, if needed. We would be lucky to have the chance to stay again!!

We truly couldn’t of imagined a better experience. I’ve stayed in many homes through the years of renting in BI and have been searching for the home that checks all of my family’s boxes. This was it! This is our second stay at the Reeves' house and we came with different people. The house was perfect for what we needed yet again and as described in other reviews, has an excellent location, is very clean, and the beds are very comfortable. Melanie is still very accessible should you need anything, but we were all set.

Wedding Stay
Our family stayed for our sons wedding....we completely enjoyed our stay and Melanie was very responsive to any of our needs which were minimal because the house was well equipped and well maintained and immaculate. The location was perfect and walking distance to most everything. Although we did bring our cars over on the ferry to transport things for the wedding we rarely used them and rode bikes or walked most everywhere.
We frequently visit Block Island from Connecticut but never for such a lengthy stay but decided we would love to come to the house again next year for another lengthy stay !!

Beautiful home and ideal location on Block Island. We could walk to the town center, restaurants, ferry and walk to the beaches. The town grocery store was close as well.

An amazing BI home!
The house was perfect for me, my fiancé, and friends. (8 of us total.) Everything was super new, clean, and fresh. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. The kitchen is large and we could easily have several people cooking, even with someone cleaning as we went. The beach towels and chairs provided were such a great convenience. The location to town and groceries were also. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else on the island in the future. (Just a little advice to other guests: if you’re staying more than a couple of days, you will need to buy toilet paper & probably paper towels. We also bought laundry detergent, but left it behind with out extra TP. If others do that too, you may be all set.)

Fantastic week - fantastic location!!
We stayed at the Reeves property this past week. The property is beautiful! - spacious, open, beachy and nicely equipped for grilling and cooking! The front porch is the best where you can hang out on the rockers after a day at the beach or for morning coffee and watch the ferries come and go. There are many great restaurants very close by and the walk to town is short and easy. The beach is also an easy walk and just beautiful. We all had a great time and would certainly stay again next time we come to BI.

Beautiful Block Island Home
This home has a wonderful open floor plan, well appointed in every way! The location allows for perfect views overlooking Old Harbor. Everything is provided that a family needs for a worry free vacation. The property owners are quick to respond to questions and have made every effort to see to every detail inside and out. We have vacationed on Block Island many times over the past 20 years. Reeves House is one where we would very much like to stay again!

Lovely home, great location, awesome owner
Location was perfect for the varying age groups. The house was so well appointed and had everything you needed from full propane tanks for the grill to comfortable couches to plenty of kitchen utensils for lobster making or oyster shucking. Most important was the sense of privacy everyone felt in their rooms. Of course the view from the porch and upper decks was stellar but also just sitting at the island in the kitchen was comfortable and charming. Melanie was super accessible and kind. I can’t wait to come back

Amazing Block Island stay
We’ve been visiting Block Island for eight years now, and this Property and experience has blown all others out of the water. The Property is amazing. Beautifully done, spacious, clean, and super well located. We loved everything about it, from the rocking chairs on the porch to the outdoor showers! It is super well located. You are a short walk from the grocery store, pubs, restaurants, the beach, and center of town. It was such a convenient and enjoyable stay. I cannot say enough about our host Melanie. She was so flexible and accommodating. She reached out to coordinate our check-in with ferry arrival, and extended our stay when the ferries were cancelled on our departure date. Melanie was very available and responsive during our stay, and just an all around great person. We cannot wait to return for another stay at the Reeves house.
