We loved the place. The location (neighborhood) looks sketchy but it was actually very quiet. The house was perfect for what we needed. I will say that the AC in both smaller bedrooms was not working very well. It got pretty toasty. But everything else was great.

We had a good time. Very convenient to get to destinations. The house was very clean. Nice fenced in backyard.

The house and property were so inviting! The owner was quick to respond to questions and the house was stocked with anything a traveller might need. We were there for a family reunion in town and this property was more than adequate for us. We were there over July 4th and the neighbors set off fireworks in the street until after midnight but that would have happened at home as well, so not a big deal. Overall, as a first experience with VRBO it was very good

I was visiting my son for the holidays and needed a place to stay. This house was perfect. Loved walking around the yard looking at the plants or sitting outside on the covered patio. The house was decorated for Christmas. It was well-stocked for me to cook meals. The host communicates quickly. There is a guest book with recommendations. The host even offered a bottle of wine! Great host. Darling place. I enjoyed my stay.

Awesome place! House is cute & has everything you need & then some. Coming in late to snacks on the table, fruit in the fridge and a bottle of wine was so refreshing. Jim also has a small medicine cabinet stocked with drugstore items to use at our disposal & while I didn’t use any of this, the gesture was such a nice touch. The backyard is even better than the pictures! We enjoyed having lunch on the back table, and I snagged a cherry tomato from the garden that was so fresh and delicious. My two dogs also enjoyed the fenced in yard!
Jim has a list of suggestions of places to go, places to eat, etc but my favorite was at the end for chain restaurants: “chain restaurants: I don’t recommend any, but if you want to go to one, google what’s around”. I agree, Jim!! :p
The neighborhood was quiet & safe. I would definitely stay here again!

We got to site see a lot of historical locations. The location of the house made it possible to travel all over Charleston. Very convenient. Adorable set up of the house.

The house was very well decorated, very clean and comfy beds! Super kind the owner had some drinks and snacks set out for us upon arrival which was great not having to rush to the store. Owner is very quick to respond and always very helpful. Outdoor area is so cute and enjoyed while staying here.

Very nice owner, super responsive and helpful. The yard was perfect for our 2 dogs and we even sat outside in the rain under a patio cover. Flowers, decorations, books, movies, games, kitchen supplies. It really was like being at home. This isn't very close to the beach. But we had a very nice weekend here.

The Charleston rental was located in a less than favorable neighborhood. However it was within 15 - 20 minutes of events, shopping and restaurants. The host, Jim, was super nice, helpful and very hospitable. We did see quite a few roaches in the house and our dog had an allergic reaction to a flea infestation in the yard, which ended up costing us over $300. We had to take her to the emergency vet clinic. I would not stay in this rental again b/c of the team to our fur baby. The host was the bestest.

First of all, we arrived at 330pm. I told our host, Jim, that we may not arrive until after 5 because we were driving over 600 miles and traffic is unpredictable. The listing said check in is after 3pm. Jim said he would send me the check in info when the cleaning service finished. I told him we arrived and he asked if there were any cars there. There weren't so he said I could use the same code to open the door as the previous renter.
Once in, we noticed a distinct musty smell. There was a space on the top and bottom of the front Storm door. The furniture and carpet were noticably stained. The popcorn ceiling was pealing and dropped to the floor in the hallway. The master bedroom smelled like urine so we figured there were 2 others so we didn't use it. I think the bedspread was the smell origin but didn't appear to be soiled.
The kitchen stove was dirty and rusty on the side and roaches were seen scurrying from underneath. The ice trays and ice bin in the refrigerator smelled strongly like old stagnant water. I washed them with soap but it didn't help So we bought our own ice. The kitchen chairs were stained and the table was dirty and sticky. Jim put out an array of complimentary snacks on the table for us. There were also complimentary bottles of wine. During the 2nd night there, we noticed a roach in our bed. We switched to the 3rd bedroom which only has a single bed so my wife slept on the couch after she covered it with clean sheets and towels. No more space to write

Could not have been better-kind and super-thoughtful host, comfortable home, lovely neighborhood. Totally peaceful except when planes fly overhead, but even that seemed like no big deal in the relaxing atmosphere of the back garden. Exactly the break from stress we needed! Highly recommended!

A friend and I came into town for a graduation and stayed at this property and it was absolutely delightful. The host was communicative and prompt, the property was clean and well stocked. I particularly enjoyed the back yard, which had a lovely covered sitting area.
The property is also close to everything. It is extremely easy access to I-26 and only 10 minutes into the heart of Charleston. There is also a great brewery just around the corner and many wonderful restaurants only a few minutes away.

This was a cozy house about 15 minutes away (by car) from the tourist areas. It may seem small from the outside, but it has three bedrooms and comfortably fit our family of two adults and two teen boys. Great amenities, and Jim is a wonderful host! I wish we had been able to enjoy the garden, but maybe we'll come back in the summer for that.

This cute house is less than ten minutes from the airport. It has all the amenities you need for a pleasant stay. The owner answered my questions quickly and thoroughly. We read that the neighborhood might be sketchy. We did not find that to be so. The houses are smaller and close together, but everyone we met was super friendly. I’d definitely stay here again!

Cute and quaint!
We were going for vacation. Nice little cottage! Property owner was really great to work with. He keeps a binder with all kinds of information on the area and ideas of places to go. He thought of everything as far as little things to make things easier. We didn't use the backyard but it was set up to accommodate grilling or just enjoying the outside. The community it is in is pretty well quiet. Overall, we would stay again.

North Charleston Property
This property was just as promised. The house was just right for the four of us. The house is well maintained and provided plenty of space. Renting and check in was super easy and our VRBO host was most gracious. The only concern we had was the neighborhood when we first drove up. There are several run down properties near the house, but this was not a problem. The neighbors were all very nice and we had no incidents while visiting. The location to a main interstate took us into and out of Charleston quickly. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

Kudos!
Jim went out of his way to make us comfortable with great accommodations and some extra treats. The cleaniness was exceptional for a vacation home! Had we been able to stay longer it would have been nice to enjoy the lovely yard which needed some over-due tlc. Thanks again, Jim for a memorable week-end.

Great location
This little house has a great location and has a more homey, non-tourist feel. The house manual has great recommendations on where to eat as well as things to do. This was our dog's first vacation and he loved the backyard and neighborhood. The house itself was clean and cozy. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly. Easy to get to downtown Charleston and Folly Beach.

Perfect for my dog and me
Most important: Would I stay here again? Absolutely! Since it was just me and my dog, I closed off two of the bedrooms and still had plenty of space. The fenced in yard was perfect and safe for the dog, plus an inviting area to simply hang out. Everything needed was present, including a thoughtful assortment of snacks. Also, the location was good for visiting plantations, Battery/waterfront area and taking the water taxi, and Charles Towne Landing. No where I went, including Costco, was more than a 20 minute drive. This is a residential area and with it came occasional daytime noise…children arriving home from school or other dogs barking, but never was there a problem with noise at night and I’m a light sleeper. I would definitely stay here again if a vacation brings me back to Charleston.

Excellent experience!
We had a wonderful experience at Jim's property. The house was very clean, cute, well-stocked, and had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay.
Our kids loved playing in the back yard, and there were beautiful flowering shrubs in the front yard. We also loved the various board games and books in the living room--those provided hours of entertainment for our screens-free kids. We really appreciated being able to stay in a home with 3 distinct bedrooms.
We kept our budget small by cooking most of our meals at the house and then eating out sparingly, and the full kitchen, cooking supplies, and utensils all helped with that goal (the only thing we didn't think to bring was a coffee grinder: we'll pack one of those next time. There is a coffee maker).
One of the neighbors was a bit loud late at night (it may actually have been someone visiting the person next door rather than the next-door inhabitant), but our sound machines enabled our kids to keep sleeping throughout.
Overall, we had an excellent experience and we'd jump at the chance to stay at Jim's house again!

Comfortable accommodations, great living space, well equipped and very clean. From the beginning, all of my interactions with the host were very prompt, gracious and informative. The house is cozy and very well-stocked. The neighborhood surrounding was pretty quiet and has excellent access to the interstate. The location is a super simple trip to downtown Charleston. Jim offered plenty of suggestions for things to do in and around town, which I greatly appreciated. We had a most enjoyable weekend here!

The price is right and home is perfect place to spend your down time when in Charleston!
This property is small but was perfect for our short stay. It was clean and a great place for us to spend the night, as we were really busy and didn’t spend a lot of time in.
Jim is an amazing host who left plenty of ideas of how to enjoy the beautiful city of Charleston as well as snacks and wine for us if we wanted to indulge. His thoughtfulness and communication were really above and beyond and we truly appreciated him sharing his home with us!
The back yard is an oasis perfect for relaxing!
We will definitely stay here again if we need a place to stay while in the area!

Great house
This house was perfect for our stay. We came in to see our youngest son and celebrate his birthday, this house was just a short 15 min drive from his place. Great location convenient to everything we could need. The host was amazing to work with, very clear details and great communication. Will keep this in mind for future visits.

SO There is no detail that is missed here! Upon first glance when arriving we were a bit concerned about the neighborhood, until we read the blurb Jim had so thoughtfully written out in the manual. The house was immaculate, from the linens to the very cute toilet paper flower. Jim keeps a lovely assortment of kitchen items, and snacks which were greatly appreciated. The Vino he left for us was super!
