The neighborhood looked a little sketchy initially, but we encountered no problems beyond some fireworks early in the morning and late at night, which happens everywhere on July 4th in my experience. Location was perfect for access to the convention center for a national dance competition. One bathroom was a little tight, but that was on us. Our host was gracious with the house having lots of amenities not normally found (dishsoap, tp, popcorn maker, snacks, laundry, etc.) We would stay again!

We absolutely loved our stay with Jim, he was very good with communication and overall created a beautiful place for us to call home. When you arrive to the property he provides a well put together binder with everything you need to have a smooth stay. It includes a house manual that lists everything included with the home as well as recommendations from previous guests! As a treat we enjoyed the popcorn machine, if you have any problems with it, Jim will be sure to help. The location of the home can be deceiving at first but in the manual it gives history of the neighborhood which made us feel at ease and comfortable!

House was old but clean and located 10 minutes from Charleston. The neighborhood was not appealing at all. Multiple abandoned homes in the area.

My husband and I stayed five nights in August. We really enjoyed this little house, the location was so convenient. We went to Charleston, Folly Beach and Johns island. We really enjoyed the fenced in backyard for our two dogs. The owner Jim was very accommodating and had a book full of suggestions on where to eat, play and relax. We would definitely stay here again

This was a second stay here for us. Wonderful from start to finish. Jim is a fantastic host.
Perfect location to be close enough to downtown Charleston and the beaches but yet away from the city hustle & bustle. Home is super cozy & always clean. Wonderful backyard & screened in porch, we’ll be back (again :)

Superbly stocked house!
If there was anything you might have forgotten on your trip to Charleston, the homeowner has it supplied in the property! We have stayed at a lot of rentals, this one goes above and beyond to be sure you have what you need!!! Only about a 10 minute drive from historic Charleston, the location was very convenient! It was great to have a fenced yard for the pooches. The neighborhood is a little noisier than I'm accustomed to, but we did not have any problems!

Great place and Jim is a great host
Jim is one of the best hosts we’ve stayed with. His anticipation of our needs was amazing and we had everything we needed and then some - snacks, utensils, etc. We found extras throughout our stay and yet the smaller space still felt open and not crowded
The back porch was a lovely oasis with all kinds of activities available including beach items we could use including a cooler!
At first I had misgivings about the neighborhood but a quick call
To Jim assured me that the neighborhood was quite safe and after two nights there, I agree. So don’t let your first impressions scare you off!
In all we enjoyed our short time in Charleston.
Thanks Jim!

Convenient, Accurate, Thorough
Jim puts lots of care into the home and making sure his guest are comfortable and have everything they need. The home was clean and well stocked. We liked the convenience to downtown as we were there to move our daughter into CofC. We plan to put this home on our list for when we go back to Charleston to visit her.

First time to Charleston
Jim is a great host. Everything was easy with check in, we actually got text early for check in. When we arrived to the house we loved it. Jim left snacks, juice, fruit, eggs and wine that we could enjoy. The grandkids loved the snacks. I absolutely loved the screend porch and the house, this would be a perfect place to vacation other than the neighborhood. We spent alot of time in the evenings on screen porch and experienced what sounded like young gang activity. We also experienced the same type problem at some of the stores close by. It was unsettling. I am sorry Jim because that house is beautiful, you have done a great job! This visit was enough for us.

Great Girls Trip
Such a great experience!! Communication was flawless and no problems checking in. It has been set up with so many features that you automatically feel at home. The location is great. It’s about 15 minutes to downtown and 30 to Folly Beach. It was a perfect place to get to everything. Never hit traffic going anywhere. The neighborhood was extremely friendly and quiet as well.

Fantastic getaway
We loved this cottage! It was cozy and clean and calming. Jim was ready with helpful tourism recommendations, and the location was wonderful in terms of access to the greater Charleston area. Would absolutely come back to this property, as an SC home away from our (regular) DC home.

Home away from home
So nice to be in a home and not motel. An older home in older neighborhood (enjoyed the neighborhood a LOT) but renewed and clean. The whole experience was perfect. Jim is an exceptional host!!! Thanks Jim.

Perfect Location and Stay
We truly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Jim was a gracious host and made everything easy. He had snacks, water bottles and even wine for us to enjoy. House was very clean and everything we needed. Location was great and only took a few minutes to get into downtown Charleston. Uber rides were only about $12 from the house. We will stay here again!

Weekend Getaway
Great value for our family and pets. House was nice and clean. Neighborhood is older and not what we’d describe as being in a “touristy” area, but it is very convenient to historic downtown, the beaches, and outlets, all short drives. Host provided snacks, complementary drinks, and many helpful suggestions for things to do. Fenced in yard was great for our two dogs. Home had everything we needed. We had a great family weekend!

Great little spot!
Jim's place was fantastic! Had everything I needed and more, he's really thought of everything. Just wish the weather had been better so I could have used the yard a bit more! My only "cons" were that the internet didn't seem to be strong enough to support the level of streaming I needed for video calls for work, the neighbor's rooster, and there didn't seem to be much in the area to do - but it is just a short drive to downtown Charleston.
