About this house rental
This is a studio style rustic cabin located on the main street Big Bear Blvd near popular attractions, such as The Village a mile away, and Snow Summit less than a mile away. This cabin features full wood logs as part of the architecture, cozy private spa and fireplace to complete the Big Bear Lake experience!
From the curb the property may not seem all that appealing, but once you enter the driveway lined by pine trees, you'll find a little gem hidden behind those pine trees. Plenty of room for parking, and much privacy for couples.
The main cabin (originally the bed and breakfast building operated by the original owners) is not accessible to guest occupying this listing unless permission is given. A large selection of boardgames and DVDs are available in there, and you can request specific entertainment options from there to be used and then returned during your stay. You're welcome to use and enjoy any of the benches in and around the gardens on the property, and kindly share the barbecues :)

If you are easy going or have low expectations, this might be the place for you! This is not your average Expedia property- NO, this is a VRBO (owned by Expedia).
8 days before my trip, I tried to reach out to the property owner/host. I needed a rollaway bed or cot for my traveling partner. I tried FOUR different methods- I emailed, called, texted and messaged through the Expedia website. To this day, I still have yet to get a reply. I spoke with VRBO about my issues. They tried to contact the host and they could not either. They would not let me get a refund and I booked MONTHS in advance, so I could not get a solution from my credit card. So I was stuck with the reservation or I would lose my money.
Instructions are vague at best. We arrived and found the main house, which no one was working at. I found rooms upstairs, but none were labeled "Gold Rush". So we wandered the property and eventually found some cabins. The Gold Rush was very small with only one queen sized bed. VERY soft and lumpy. We moved a parlor couch out of the way- I brought a blowup mattress and sleeping bag, because we didn't know what to expect. Everything is very old. The bathroom tiles have mold growing in between. I was afraid to use the shower, but had no choice. It felt dirty.
I would NEVER in a million years recommend this place to anyone. It's cheap, but that's about it. Stay at one of the competitors- you will feel better about it.

The whole place was covered in ants the ants covered the bathroom the bathtub all over the sink all of our stuff. It was gross.

My hubby & I celebrated our anniversary and the location of the cabin was perfect for us. It was close to everything. We look forever to going back again and hoping to stay at this cabin as well.

Our hot water wasn’t working so we could not shower/take a bath. We reached out to the host who sent a woman to our room, but unfortunately couldn’t not speak English, which is not a problem, but it was very hard to communicate what we were trying to say. We were then told we can shower in a different room, and when I asked to live to that room they said “it wasn’t available”.
I spoke to the host via text about a refund for the night and we would leave the next day and they stated a refund will be provided. Almost a month later I have not heard or seen anything from them.
Please do not stay here.

It was a very bad experience. The room and bath tub was dirty and noisy heater.

add made it look like a separate cabin, not a tri plex that is is - that was kind of disappointing

It was perfect to getaway for the evening and be in the woods to enjoy some peace and quiet. Eagles nest cabins was the perfect spot for that! Thanks!!!

We had a lovely time. The cabin is small, but perfect for us. It is clean and the bed was very comfortable. We brought our own extension cord, but would suggest adding one in the room for the coffee pot. Also, the listing says and shows a picture of a jacuzzi / spa outside, there is no jacuzzi. Thank you, we will come back.

Nice and clean. Walking distance to restaurants, The Village and the Visitors Center

Perfect location! Very cozy and comfortable for short stays and getaways to nearby attractions!! The fireplace was awesome!
My only complaint would be with the bed! In desperate need of a new matress topper.
Overall it was a wondeful stay!

nice setting, but smelled super musty, coffee pot cord wouldnt reach outlet. bathtub looked bad, bed wasnt right, needs new matress. no washrags either.

because of the weather I was not able to stay at the cabin. emailed Tim on 2-17 and let him know

Experience was excellent . Property was just as described and all was good

The bed had a big sink hole covered by a memory foam, the fireplace had no wood and none for sale on property as promised, coffee maker cord could not reach outlet… and no cream or sugar, the price was jacked up to cover VrBO fees- much less on other sites I found later, the microwave was dirty and the furnace fan was so noisy - it was impossible to sleep through.
I made due by going to local Vons that was not close but felt very disappointed and stuck in a place that seemed to have good reviews. I asked for partial refund but was ignored after 2 days patiently waiting for response.

This is a one room with bath room "cabin". There is a small coffee pot but there where no coffee filters to be found so a store run was needed. Only 2 disposable cups so only one days worth. The heater is VERY noisy. There is no map of where the unit is located so at night very dark and have to walk up to each unit to see the name. A map as part of the check in would be good.
The bed could use a replacement mattress, very soft sagging in the middle.

Title says it all. Quiet cozy cabin with a surprising amount of amenities. The property manager was also super nice

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a couple of nights and it is the perfect little spot. It had everything we needed. The Jacuzzi tub was wonderful. My only issue was that when we arrived, the app we used did not provide the unit number, but we figured it out. We would definitely stay here during future visits.

Busy car-show weekend but still nice place. Set among tall Ponderosas with well kept grounds.

Cute cabin right off the main road, felt secluded but was still super convenient to everything. The cabin was cute and tiny and perfect for our needs. Loved the outdoor sitting areas, especially at night.

Overall the stay was sweet. However we did get bummed out because the jets in the tub weren’t working properly and were excited for a “spa” day. We liked the location of the cabin and the rustic feel it gave. But it was dusty and we were trying to get away from the IE air quality. The owner was nice enough to reimburse the cleaning fee when we reached out. Again, it was a nice getaway but just wasn’t as smooth sailing as we had hoped.

We really enjoyed using the fireplace in the evening & watching Netflix after a hard day’s play at the lake. The location is nice with the street being just off the beaten path, and the price was reasonable.

The little cabin was nice. Its close to everything. People were easy to talk to. The only thing is the room had a window that wouldn't shut so it got cold at night time.

Such a beautiful place, the location is phenomenal and we absolutely died in love with the wallpaper! We stayed in Gold Rush, and I have no complaints. It was easy to get in touch with Kim, and she replied pretty quickly. It was exactly what we were going for and I can safely say that we would stay here again. It’s such a beautiful cabin, and it even was decorated for the holidays which I loved!!! Kim was also very very covid 19 precautious. Check in was a self check in which limited the person to person contact, and so was check out. It was very cleanly inside the cabin as well and the surrounding area.

I booked the Gold Rush at Eagle's Nest as a last-minute birthday surprise for my fiance. When we checked in, we were greeted with the cutest little room we could ask for. There was a small Christmas tree by the fire, and the mantle was light with cute lights. The cabin was nestled close by Snow Basin Resort so it was a very short drive to go skiing. The camp groundskeeper was so kind. Please, please, be patient and kind to her. She speaks Mandarin and uses a voice translator but communication with her is very clear. I used my own translator since my Mandarin is limited. She showed used where we can score some free firewood in the campgrounds. The jetted tub was amazing and we didn't use the heater at all as we had the fire going all night. The bed is super comfy, one of the comfiest and softest I've been. We'll definitely be back again. :)
