About this house rental

Description from a Guest:

Wow! So where to I begin…the home is spectacular with rooms and windows that showcase Pudget Sound. The surroundings were tranquil and lovely with abundant wildlife, spectacular flowers, lovely plants and trees, splendid views of the Olympic Mountains, rolling tides going in and out, and sunrises and sunsets displaying vibrant colors! We saw a bald eagle, seal, emerald duck, song birds, and a plump bunny all from the decks! The house is decorated nicely, but simply and tastefully. The kitchen offered everything for dining in with two seating areas (dining room and breakfast nook) plus an outdoor table on the deck. The large tv and rounded sofa lounger seating are was great for movies or catching up on favorite shows. The decks offered several seating areas with awesome views. I would return in a heart beat!
Experience a picturesque Pacific Northwest retreat. We provide a telescope for you to enjoy the wildlife around you including majestic bald eagles and playful seals.

The check in process was easy. We were texted entry instructions and our code well in advance of our arrival. We arrived at night and the address was hard to locate - its on the little stone pillar on the right side of the drive and on the garage but the garage address is not visible from the street. The house is a little dated in spots but was adequate for our group of 6 adults and the pictures are accurate. Its clear that there are uogrades and maintenance happening around the home as there was a ladder in the yard and supplies in the garage. I gave cleanliness 4 stars as the shower/grout in the master bath needs a deep cleaning. The crystals on the dining room chandelier also need cleaning. These were not things that would warrant the owner to come out and remedy during my stay but wanted to mention. A rating of 4 on communication was because Linda was communicating with me at the beginning of my stay but did not answer me on our check out day. Try the local Flame Burger for a quick bite! They have great burgers as well as multiple flavors of shakes!! We also ate at Jimmy Mac’s Roadhouse which was really tasty as well! The goal was to bring 2 families together for a couple days to have a good time and that’s exactly what happened so thanks Linda for offering this house with those fantastic views!

Linda was a great hostess. She communicated quickly and went out of her way to make any issues we had with the place right. The view is beautiful. The house is really spacious and livable, and the kitchen has nice cookware and lots of dinnerware which made a family dinner possible. Two things I noticed in other reviews that I ignored but were a main reason I wouldn’t return, was the beds and the driveway. Both the main bedroom and the smaller bedroom had mattresses that sunk in the center, offering no support. My parents spent the whole night fighting to keep from rolling into each other… and they both weigh less than 130lb. I’m a big lady - and the queen bed did the same to me… but I often expect that at my size. The driveway is treacherous because it is lined with cinder blocks to protect the lawn… but there is no room to turn around. And the main road has high speed traffic around a curved bend that is impossible to back into safely. So the truck was a challenge and my van got scraped getting out of the drive. We encountered a sewage smell in the home but Linda quickly responded to that with baking soda treatment every 8 hours until it resolved. She also gave a small nominal refund of $200 which was a nice gesture - but my mom was gagging from the sewage smell most of the visit. For this reason, I would take the chance of staying there again. I’m assuming this was a common issue since there was a 5lb bag of baking soda under the kitchen sink, specifically 4 this

This house is gorgeous, spacious, and very close to all sorts of restaurants and stores in Federal Way (about a 10 min drive, max). We stayed there on a whim to escape the smoky air from the fires on the east side of the state. The weather was perfect, the deck views were stellar, watching the birds was fun, and the amenities of the entire house were spot on. Some things to know- the bedrooms are all downstairs, with a large master room with en suite restroom, and one other full restroom, along with 2 spacious bedrooms and a large family room where there is additional sleeping space. If you have older teens who like their own space, this is great because it affords MANY places to rest and relax. My parents (ages 80) were OK with the stairs to go down to the bedroom/en suite, but for those who can't do stairs well, this may not be the best place for you. Upstairs is all about living space. There is a half bath, and a lovely den/study right off the front door of the house, plenty of sofa-space for watching TV, great dining space. There is plenty of bedding available, and plenty of towels, and even provided soaps, shampoos, and what not. There were so many extra plates, bowls, and flatware- very nice to not feel like we were constantly doing dishes. The house is so lovely that we brought food in to enjoy it there each night of our stay. My mother absolutely raved about this house also!! The downstairs stayed so cool- no need to use AC at all!!

It's a very nice, private house, in a quiet neighborhood, by the lake. The house was clean and had everything we needed. It doesn't have direct access to the lake. We loved the kitchen/dinning, but there are no window covers, so sunsets and sundowns although beautiful, were a bit blinding! The most complicated thing for me was the driveway, it's narrow so it was difficult to get out with ease. My recommendations: place some shades on the far end of the dinning area windows, in the kitchen, to give the option of closing during those glaring sunsets/sundowns and make the driveway a bit wider to make it easier to get out, so folks won't have the need to drive over the grass. Otherwise, we had a great stay, thank you for the accomodations!

Easy check in. Communication with the host was great. No issues during our stay. The host supplied everything needed. It was clean, but a little dated. The layout of the house was very nice and roomy. The views are amazing! The huge windows and style of the house made for a very zen feel. The only complaint we had was that the King bed was very hard and terribly uncomfortable. Aside from that, it was a very nice stay.
