A small and friendly hotel, clean and ideal for the bus to the airport, which is across the street..nice hot water.
Traffic noise is unbelievable, toilet and shower are quite small, kitchen is non-existent unless you call a microwave a kitchen..

Esta relativamente cerca del centro.
La cama esta muy dura
Amanecí con dolor de espalda

¡Fantástico y a buen precio!

It’s very cute. One very friendly guy works in his shop attached to the building and also runs the hotel. It was very basic but always clean, and it was perfect to catch the Tica bus to Panama the next morning, with just a 600m walk. There are lots of places to eat close by, as well as a small balcony and kitchen where you can prepare your own food if you wish. The shower also has hot water which is always a bonus!
The room was hot, but manageable with a fan. The bed was comfy but felt very sweaty (like if you were laying on plastic).

Only one English language tv station

Very nice staff, they waited for us after midnight. The room was very clean.

Walkable location, nice room, nice common area with tables and seating
The kitchen had less than the pictures showed (no stove), only a water boiler and toaster oven to cook with. The upstairs bathroom was also very tiny.

It is a small, very homely place that is furbished nicely. There is a little kitchenette and living space. The bed is comfortable and the shower nice and hot. The location is within walking distance to the Tica Bus.
The location being close to the bus depot meant that it is on a busy road. Our corner room was right above the road and the windows don't block any sound, so it was rather noisy for much of the night. (A photo of exterior with some traffic would be more accurate).
The Wi-Fi unfortunately was bad too which meant I couldn't catch up on online work the way I had hoped to. This could have been due to a thunder storm that evening.

The best all around!

For the cost in the location you cant complain. We stayed 1 night before we left for la fortuna. It was more of somewhere to sleep after getting in super late. It provided a bed and a shower. The rooms smelled nice and fresh.
Staff was very nice and friendly. Very hospitable and answered all the questions we had.
Shower/bathroom wasn’t very clean.
Towels smelled damp

Location is good and stuff was very helpful.
Place has small cozy balcony as well.
The room I was staying was a bit noisy as I could hear people talking on the counter and cars outside.
As it has only one window that looks inside the house, it was hot inside and it was hard to get any air inside.

The service was great and the staff very helpful and kind. The room was spacious with natural light and access to the balcony was very nice.
The room gave on Avenida 3 and we could hear the noise from the street very clearly until 11 PM when the traffic slowed down. It peaked up again around 5:30 AM.

They charged me more money, and I don’t know why. For 3 nights it was 80$, they charged me 90$. And the staff made noise day and night.
And there is no kettle, no stove.

The room and facilities were spotless, and Justin was very kind and helpful. I was getting the TicaBus the next morning, so the location was perfect as it was less than 10 mins walk away.
The curtains were a little bit more sheer than I would have liked, although this didn’t affect my sleep.

super nice staff. great price for value for a single room.
ok location but it the best to just walk around. not the comfiest/coziest place but it’s perfect for 1-2-3 nights

Even though it's a hotel, they have a large common area with a small but nice kitchen. From the location, it's easy to walk into the city center, while there is a bus stop right in front if you prefer taking the bus. Also, there were many restaurants close by.
Nothing too bad, the kitchen doesn't have a stove, only a microwave. But then again, I only ever made tea.

Staff were very friendly and allowed us to stay all day after check out until our taxi to the airport in the evening. The room was a good size with lots of storage and the bed was comfortable. Common areas were nice, comfortable and clean.
The room had no insulation so was cold at night, this is similar to the majority of places in San Jose. Kitchen doesn’t have an electric or gas hob.

Very close to a busy road, difficult to sleep. Windows we're not sealed so traffic noise, from frequent large lorries and buses, was not blocked.

The mattress!
We had an indoor room and it felt a bit too warm at night and that it didn’t have enough air.

convenient location from San José airport and relevant embassies.
Hard to reach for a first-time without a car; location also does not support buses like other hotels

I had room no. 4 on the top floor. It's a lovely room, large, comfortable bed, many windows, a sofa, a desk, computer chair, shelves and a place to hang your clothes.
They have a very nice communal area and a small kitchen with fridge, microwave and coffee machine. It feels very homey. The staff is very friendly. The speak little English but use an app called 'Say Hi' to translate. It's not half bad, although sometimes the translations turn out incorrect and rather funny.
There is no insulation or soundproofing. It is on a very busy corner. There is a near constant stream of cars, busses, trucks and sometimes sirens. You can hear everything and I wear earplugs. It is next to a parking lot and on the Saturday night, for about 2-3hours, there were a guy and girl yelling 'Parqueo, parqueo, parqueo, parqueo" almost non-stop (I do not envy their jobs). Plus, every time a heavy bus or truck goes by, you can feel the bed vibrate. So, even though the bed is very comfy, I didn't sleep well at all.
Plus, the walls are not insulated. Although that doesn't seem to be unusual in San José, the sliding windows have about an inch of space between them so the wind comes through, you can see the curtains billowing. I slept with my hoodie on because the blanket didn't provide enough warmth.
Pity because it's such a lovely place.

This time I had a really bad experience.
I showed up at 9 am, the room was ready, but they refused to give it to me.
I was told to wait for 2 pm.
At 2 pm the member of the owner family showed up, and tried to overcharge me for this (btw windowless!) room.
He refused to give the right price, he tried first to charge at least 50% more, and at the end hr still was not willing to charge the correct sum
I left for an more serious place.
Not easy in this dangerous city!

Nice common area upstairs
I had to leave after the first day, they found a couple paying more
