Welcome to Tabby Shack SSI! Escape to the charming southern town of Saint Simons Island while staying in our 3-bedroom, 2-bath home, blending easy comfort with beachy vibes providing a sense of home within walking distance to beaches, restaurants, and fun.

The space
You enter the Tabby Shack with brightly colored door and shutters to find a custom made entryway with baskets to store your shoes, hooks for your coats, bags, and towels, shelves for your grab and take items, and a bench to get yourself ready to enjoy a day out on the island. Leave your stress at the door to kick-off your holiday right.
From the entry, you’ll find the heart of the house with an open concept living/dining/kitchen space. The living room is designed to bring you together with your fellow travelers as the central space for your vacation. You will find more than ample seating with a large sectional couch to enjoy each other, a board game, or even a movie on the new 4K large screen TV. If you are looking to break away from the pack, take a seat in the cozy chairs by the fireplace and windows where you can read a book or enjoy a drink of your choice.
Through the living room, you will see the dining area. Enough seating for eight (8) between a large table and the granite breakfast bar area on the kitchen peninsula. Fall in love with the plantation shutters allowing you to control the light and set the mood for your meals. Our favorite use of this space is as the location of many laughs and smiles over one of the many board games provided with the house.
The dining area opens to our well-stocked kitchen where any chef would be excited…high-end Samsung appliances, new tabletop serving ware for entertaining, and the all the basics for your stay. The floor plan allows the chef or chefs to prepare meals or a quick snack while never being away from the fun in the rest of the home. Tabby Shack SSI has a full-sized washer and dryer in the utility room.
Back through the living room, you will find the hallway connecting the living space to the sleeping quarters. The first door on the right is the Master Suite. Relax in the private bedroom with a new king bed, ample storage with a dresser and walk-in-closet. No master bedroom is complete without a newly renovated en-suite bathroom with a dual vanity and luxurious shower. A perfect start or end to your day.
Following the hallway to the front of the house, you will find two (2) bedrooms. The first guest room is appointed with a comfortable queen bed complete with walk-in closet, dresser, and southern facing windows with the same plantation shutters found in the rest of the house for your friends and family to spread out in their own space. The third and final bedroom offers the same amenities as the second guest room with twin beds. The main bathroom for the house has a tub/shower combo, plenty of storage, and has also been renovated.
Moving to the yard, the side patio is your access point to our outdoor living spaces. The patio is ready for your enjoyment. Furnished with a gas BBQ grill, outdoor dining, and nature. This is the perfect spot to prepare the catch of the day from your fishing trip or your famous BBQ. Oh and we have outdoor games, too! Challenge each other to giant Jenga or Connect 4 while enjoying the outdoors. Throughout the day, take-in the morning sun or relax in the afternoon shade.

Fully stocked beach house, just bring clothes and head on over! Very nice salt water pool for kids to swim in all day. Fully stocked kitchen if you want to cook or head over to coastal kitchen or southern soul bbq or any of really convenient seafood restaurants, which is what we did. Close to everything! Has washer/dryer/lots of tv channels, Netflix, Disney. Even books. Highly recommend!

We were impressed beyond measure. The property was immaculate and extremely well organized. Every detail was carefully curated by the gracious & attentive hosts. It was the perfect place to unwind & relax. Anything we might need, was already thought of & provided by our hosts.

We loved staying at the tabby shack! By far the best VRBO experience we have ever had. The host was super responsive. The house was just as listed and extremely clean and organized. Brand new pool right out back. We loved it and plan on coming back next year!

Pictures don’t do this place justice! Everything is so nice. The master shower is to die for! The pool was so relaxing and entire backyard was everything I could have ever wanted. My husband and I had the most amazing weekend at the Tabby Shack. 10/10 would return!

We loved the Tabby Shack! Even better than the pictures! Clean, kid friendly, very organized and the owner has thought of every detail! Pool and outdoor area was our family’s favorite. The location was great. Beach, restaurants and shops were just a short golf cart ride away.

The Tabby Shack is such a great property. My family always rents houses when we travel, now that we have 2 kids under 5 and we look for ones with pools. Everything was so well-appointed and organized, as well as family-friendly for the kids. Kelly-Jean is a great host and the welcome note with wine was such a sweet surprise. I could go on and on about how perfect our stay was, but I honestly wouldn't want this place to be overly booked because I want to come back! There is nothing I could think for Kelly-Jean to improve on, she has thought of everything. Lastly, the pool is beautiful and so well taken care of. I appreciated the turf in the back to keep everyone's feet clean and the pool clean. We paid for heating and it was just so perfect. My 1 year old woke up at 6am every day and asked to go to the pool and play on the large sun ledge.

Tabby Shack Review
The property owners were great! We had excellent communication with them prior to the stay and during the stay. The house has been recently renovated and it was well done. It was decorated very nicely and was very comfortable. Everything we needed for the stay was provided including all the requirements to host a large group for a steak and shrimp cookout. If we go back to Saint Simons Island, we will stay there so we definitely recommend it.

Beautiful home away from home!
Our group of 5 adults came for a pickle ball tournament. We loved Tabby Shack! The house was beautiful, very clean and comfortable and convenient to everything on the island. The owners were always quick to respond to any questions we had. Everything we needed was provided in the house. We would all definitely stay here again! Thanks for the board games!

The perfect spot!
There are so many positives to this home, I don't know where to begin. I hesitate to review it positively, as I don't really want to share it with anyone else. ha ;) The house is so nice - the furnishings make me want to redo my own home, the neighborhood is super quiet and convenient to everything, the house has everything you need and is so organized - again, makes me want to reorganize my own home! This will be our new getaway spot when we visit the island. :) Thank you Tabby Shack!

Great Stay and Great Location
We spent a week at the Tabby Shack and we LOVED our stay. The beds were comfortable, there was always plenty of hot water, and the location was great. Our drive to the beach was always about 2-3 min long. We had a 3 year old and it was great to have a small playground across the street in the park. There was a lot of small touches that made our stay so great. For example, the outdoor shower was so helpful especially with a small kid full of sand after a day at the beach. There was so much Tupperware (which was great for leftovers) and the grill on the patio was so enjoyable. If we ever come back to St. Simons Island, we would stay here again.

Brand new, well appointed and strategically located
We really enjoyed our stay. Everything in the place is new and the kitchen appointments (from appliances to plates) were well above average. Our group included a 2, 6 and 9 year old, and everyone was very comfortable. You can easily walk to the beach and village, and the location is very quiet/secure. We would certainly stay again in the future.

Great location and beautiful home!
We loved our stay here! We have stayed in many different houses on SSI over the years and this was definitely one of our favorites. The house was clean, well-stocked, and conveniently located. It was obvious the owners have put a lot of time and thought into making the house a comfortable place to stay!

The pictures do not do this place justice. It was bigger than we initially thought and it was absolutely an amazing stay and an amazing home. We loved every single minute of it and we even extended our stay. Kelly and Adam were the best hosts and they were very accommodating. It's in a prime location from the pier and the beach and local shops so it was such a relief to be able to walk and bike everywhere. We loved it.

Great beach house!
This beach house was just completely renovated and everything inside was very well done. House was clean and in a great location to walk to the beach and village. We rented bikes for some longer adventures up the island. Great WiFi speeds in the house made it easy for us to work remotely. Owners were very helpful and knowledgeable about the island. Cute, new, clean cottage
So well-appointed with plenty of space, comfy furniture, awesome kitchen. Dedicated parking, quiet street. We walked to the beach every day (teens) but parking at public access was easy if you had more gear or younger kids. Everything was brand new (2021) and very stylish. Bathrooms were gorgeous! Everyone had to work and do virtual school before the beach so the space to spread out and the great wifi made a big difference. Loved cooking in the kitchen and eating at the island’s great restaurants. Owner was so helpful and answered all our questions!

The Tabby Shack SSI is a great place to stay - we stayed 5 weeks and have no negatives to report at all. The owners are wonderful to work with.The house itself is totally updated with new bathrooms which are so nice, as well as lovely furniture and furnishings throughout. It is larger than we expected! We enjoyed opening the plantation shutters each morning to have sunlight light up the house and to see birds feeding outside the large windows. The kitchen has very nice appliances as well as everything we needed, and then some, for cooking, serving, and coffee-making. The TV had a nice selection of channels.In addition we think it is a really good location, close to beach, restaurants, Pier Village, and we walked and biked to all. We definitely will be back.

The pantry was stocked with olive oil, canola oil, salt and pepper, and coffee filters as there was a regular coffee pot which I prefer. Great coffee shop 5 minutes away. All the pots and pans you could need. A crock pot as well as glass Pyrex storage containers for leftovers were available. Lots of glass and plastic drinking glasses. Kitchen towels were plentiful as well as 3 cutting boards. Plenty of room in the pantry for any grocery shopping you may do. Fridge is brand new as well as the dishwasher. We got to listen to Alexa play music for us. There were several in the house. Great for setting timers too. Keyless entry was awesome as we had no keys to lose. Living room furniture was beautiful as well as two chairs with hassocks. Beds were very comfortable. Pillows were great. Bedding was beautiful and homey. Towels were great and plenty of them. Deep bathtub in the other bathroom was great for a soak. We all enjoyed the island very much and Adam was a wealth of information about great restaurants and anything else we needed. Wonderful Family House!
Great location. Very clean and cozy. Only thing is the pics show TVs in the other bedrooms and there were none. My aunt is mentally sick and stays in bed a lot watching tv.

The home was as advertised.
There was a problem with heat upon arrival, which was quickly resolved. As a first time renter, I would like to have seen more information as to trash, recycling, TV operation, (esp living room), also a map, other information about the area would have been helpful. The property fit our housing needs perfectly. Quiet dead end street. Will use VRBO for next vacation.

We enjoyed our stay on SSI. The house was good for us. The inside was clean & functional. The outside (grill & patio) was very neglected. Our VRBO representative was very responsive to the few problems we did encounter.
Attention is needed to the tub drain in hall bath.

Great stay in St. Simon!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this house! We loved the layout of the house, the rooms were spacious, and the beds were comfy. Kitchen was nice and well stocked with utensils and pans. The place was very clean and the location was convenient to the beach and groceries/restaurants.
The only thing we did notice was the outdoor area (both the patio overhang and the outdoor shower) were not functional. The back patio needs cleaned and pressure washed. It wasn’t a big deal to us as we didn’t plan on spending much time out there. Also, the kitchen wasn’t stocked like other rentals we’ve stayed at. There were only a few coffee filters left that I found under the counter and we had to go and buy trash bags for the kitchen. Again not a big deal because we made it work.
Those were just a few minor things we noticed but otherwise LOVED our stay. We didn’t want to leave!
