For us, it's a lovely apartment (bottom half of a cottage). Nice clean kitchen and bathroom and comfy beds. Hot tubs great and is the reason we use the cottage.
There was no WiFi the whole time we were there. Apparently it was due to the weather. It was very disappointing for my disabled son, who relies on it, so we had to leave a day early. There's no mobile phone signal either for O2.

Lovely cottage apartments
Grate location and property
Hot tub was amazing after long day at work
We didn’t mind about the hot tub not to be used after 10 was clean but out in the sticks you will have bugs about understandable
Only think would say is because it was short notice we didn’t release we had to inform them about another car which me and my partner was informed when arriving not in a welcoming manner so felt not welcome
Anybody who dose stay let them know more than one car is turning up to one property many apologies
After we settled in it was a lovely stay would go again would recommend to anyone

The location was fantastic.
There was quite alot of 'rules'. When I stay somewhere I always clean up after myself, wash pots put away etc. I don't need to be told to do this. It's common courtesy.

Loved the hot tub.
Loved the size of bed and it was comfy.
Not very good response to query before arrival. Didn't realise the lovely pond, fire pit, swing , hammock where out of bounds so kids really disappointed when told , so no nice area to sit and admire views as surrounding hedge too high. Ok for privacy for hot tub but just too enclosed all down the side of cottage.
Arrival 4 oclock ( only ever been as late as 3 ) and out at 10 . So many rules and regs and not very welcoming. Although beds where very comfy , bedding ripped and stained , as we were told to strip beds before leaving !! Never been told to do this before . All crockery and utensils to be washed and put away ( always do this whereverI go.). Again never told to do this before in such an abrupt manner , even though there was not enough cleaning products etc.

Super clean with a spacious feel to the whole place set in an amazing scenery!
It markets as a cottage but this is more like a ground floor flat as another 'cottage' is above you meaning you can hear all their footsteps and noise. Also hot tub is yours for the using between 10am-10pm and if people leaving upstairs property/house can see directly into hot tub.

Clean, cozy and everything we needed for our stay.

Hot tub , cozy, remoteness was nice but didn’t realise walk to restaurants was not best etc
Power cut and no reception but excellent t service to remedy situation.

Location beautiful. Maybe fill potholes all the way up track.
Be nice to vacate at eleven rather than 10am.

I like the fact it had a hottub. I like the fact there was a TV and netflix.
I wasn't pleased with the fact you could only park 1 car in the car park which was not advertised prior to booking. I wasn't pleased with the fact the rubbish was not taken out when we arrived an there was previous rubbish from another person who stayed at the property. I wasn't happy with the fact hardly any toilet paper was at the property and I had to buy more. The location should be explained more on booking.com as you have to drive down a very thin road which if not carful could have burst your tyres. When I asked about the carpark situation the owners were not helpful and just said you can only park 1 car. We did have a random person who walked past the cottage knocked on asking us if we were renting the property and could they stay in the property as it was raining. So the property isn't very secure. Whilst using the hottub the owners directly saw us in the hottub as they were in the carpark which was very off putting. Also there is a sign which states you can use the hot tub from 10am but another sign stating half 10 which again very confusing.

The place is clean and can accommodate a lot of people
Nothing to do or go around the place
however check - in time is only between 4-6:30 pm which is wired to enforce such restriction!!
Also there is no way to communicate with owner only via booking.com which is inconvenient and they didn’t reply when I needed them.
Moreover, access to the property is not easy, one way unpaved road so be warned and warnings all around you not to walk here not to go there not to do anything really!! We just had to sit there and leave next day..
no pointers on where to go or walk to enjoy the place specially for people who travelled from abroad and know nothing about UK or this place
If they provide pointers or things to be done there with flexibility in check in time then it worth a visit .. otherwise find other more convenient place specifically if you are coming from outside the UK

Lovely property with hot tub
Later use of hot tub that’s only thing

beautiful location easy to find , the cottage was amazing , immaculately clean . the host sent all the relevant information quickly and efficiently.
if your looking for a remote , peaceful night away then this is the place for you .
yes you have to strip the beds and take the bins out h on departure but that didn’t bother us . it only took 5 mins.
The hot tub was ready and warm on arrival . we will definitely be returning
the only tiny thing that bothered us was there were so many flies around the hot tub , I mean loads . it did become annoying after a while as they were constantly flying in our faces , maybe it was something in the water there were attracted to . however this was a very small bother that didn’t deter us from having a lovely time at pine cottage .

Beautiful place.
Hot tub was not really clean, no hot water, no heating, no one greeted us on arrival or on departure, not very welcoming and bedding so old only suitable for dogs. Was ok until I stripped the beds and saw how dirty it the pillows and duvets were. Road to cottage unusable and I think I'm going to need a new tyre after only just replacing them

Location was great, place was lovely and clean lovely little cottage. Hot tub was nice after a long day walking.
There was no hot water, so we couldn’t take a shower and had to boil the kettle to wash the dishes and babies bottles. It was also so cold on the night as the heating wasn’t working. That probably explains why there was no hot water.
Also didn’t want to stay in the second room as there was loads of spiders!
Bruising all on my back from hot tub, which is weird because I’ve never had this before.

A lovely peaceful location, the cottage was spacious and still cosy with a nice modern bathroom. the hot tub was great and ready to use when we arrived. We can't comment on the hosts as we didn't see them when we were there. But seem friendly enough through emails and update messages.
The grounds were lovely however when staying in the cottage you cannot go into the paddock and enjoy the surrounding views.

location of the property was exactly want we wanted! off the beaten track, quite literally.
Great access to many National Trust sites. Extremely quiet.
I feel it’s important to note, the hot tub is NOT private, it’s in full view of a driveway. it’s also comes with a 12 ban - you can’t use it between 10pm-10.30am - me and my partner are quite partial to an early morning dip, so this did somewhat disgruntle us. I raised this with the host and asked the the reason behind it, the question was ignored and they simply said was stated in the property details - after triple checking I’d dispute this! I can’t see anywhere that these times are stated.
The cottage was ‘self catered’ to the extreme. Don’t come expecting any welcome baskets!! The only thing provided was washing up liquid. no salt, pepper, cooking oil, tin foil. we literally had 3 teabags, one teaspoon of coffee, sugar and just over half a toilet roll left for us.
I did raise the toilet roll issue with the host and they quickly resolved, which was much appreciated.
Also, there was some kind of maintenance man loitering around at 9.30am (half an hour before check out), right outside our window, and unfortunately he got a right eyeful of me coming out to the shower before I had clocked he was there.

I don’t know what the bad reviews are all about we were worried after paying then read the reviews after but the cottage is clean quiet very nice , we didn’t see the owners once. it’s a lovely place with amazing views would stay again.
nothing yes the path to cottage isn’t tarmac but it’s a country path so what else do you expect

Beautiful cottage in an absolutely stunning setting with amazing walks all around. So peaceful. Would be ideal for a couple getaway or a family vacation.
The beds were a bit hard, could do with an upgraded mattress.

Beautiful location.
Quiet and pleasant atmosphere.
very clean inside and homely
highly recommend!
thank you so much we enjoyed the stay and look forward to coming again

Very modern and comfortable stay, was nice to have the choice of bedrooms and loved the hit tub
No bath robes or soaps in bathroom which was abut of a let down as we thought there may of been some.

location was in a lovely part of the world and was presented okay
very little light in the property due to only 2 windows and the view you get is the bamboo fence, duvet was 10+ years old with holes in, mattress wasnt great, pillows like tissue paper, couch was very tired and uncomfortable due to sagging in the center. only one bed was made up, despite renting the whole apartment, lacked in standard items, such as a knife to cut a loaf of bread. It should also state on the site that this is a downstairs apartment with people above you on hard wood floors. For 175 per night it is vastly over priced, you could get a luxury hotel for the same price. Not to mention an unprofessional host, who informed me that all the information was in the booking.com site, which is incorrect. booking.com 1-1 messages had come through via email only, and not registered on the messages part of the site and due to poor IT system management by booking.com Microsoft regarded 3/4 of the emails as spam. but good look trying find information once on asite as there is no signal, only to be told by the host to go find the information online. private road to the property is in vast need of repair, bovington might like to add it to the off road tank training course.

really enjoyed our stay , the outside needed to be more lit up as it was pitch black so we could not use the hot tub
the bedding was filthy when we was asked to strip the beds before leaving, left me itching at the thought I’d slept in with that duvet all night
3.9
The fact that there are time restrictions on the hot tub, meant we could only use it for less than an hour
The beds were extremely uncomfortable and very itchy. Had to remove bedding before departure and the quilts were disgusting.

Really easy and straight forward and information is sent via message the day before with all instructions on how to access the property. Great location, remote but close enough to walk to a few local pubs, and lovely scenery. The cottage couldn't have been better sized, with everything we needed, the hot tub was a real added bonus for our stay, great value for money. Wifi also worked really well which was great as there is little phone reception around there.
Just be wary of driving there during the winter period, lots of back roads which are icy, just took us longer than expected but lovely remote location once you arrive. No hair dryer was the only thing the property didn't have, but not a major drama.

hot tub and the cottage itself and the trek around the cottage amazing views and the location.
you need to make guests aware of the unbelievable terrible road path to the cottage. it scrapes the bottom of ur car, our engine cap came of the bottom. u definitely need a SUV. please see path before u book as i wouldnt book again. the bed had no bed cover on and staff told us to put it on ourself! one lady think shes the lady of the “manor” needs to learn some manners. very ruthless inconsiderate woman.

The property was very pretty
The hot tub closes at 10pm they don’t make this clear until after the booking. My partner and I were interrupted mid sesh. We wanted a romantic weekend (hence the hot tub) however we were treated like children with a curfew and being rudely watched and interrupted.

Everything about this little place was great if only the check-in hadn't been so concerning!
First of all, we couldn't find the place. After a bit of googling once we arrived in Upper Hulme, we discovered that there was more than one cottage, so we followed google maps there. When we arrived we couldn't get in so we called the phone number listed on booking.com, which was a landline, and left 2 voice messages. We were unsure what to do so we walked up to some other cottages and knocked on the door there. A very polite and helpful lady said she had the proprietors phone number, which was a godsend as we were getting quite worried at this point! She kindly called her for me so I could speak with the owner. I explained the situation, assuming she would simply apologise for the inconvenience, which would have been OK, things happen and we just wanted to get in and enjoy our stay. I was quite shocked at what followed. I was abruptly informed that all the details for entering the cottage were in the email that was sent. I explained that I had already checked my email and had been searching the booking.com app already to see if I had missed something. I explained that I hadn't seen the email and was told that wasn't possible! I was expecting she would apologise for the inconvenience and explain how we could enter the cottage (which again would have sufficed), but what came next was the biggest of all surprises. She asked if we could 'move away from the neighbours and the other buildings so AS NOT TO UPSET THE PEOPLE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD'! As aforementioned, a simple apology would have sufficed, but this was just plain rude! I simply did not have the email with directions or the code to get in the key box! I kept on trying to tell the lady that it didn't matter why I did not have the email and that it was even possible that I had deleted by mistake, but she was more concerned that we may be making trouble with the neighbours! Eventually, some 2-3 hours after our arrival time she sent the code and we were in!

The cottage was well presented, great utilities, warm, cozy and quiet.
As a family with kids it was difficult as the phone signal wasn't great and the WiFi in the cottage didn't work for the 2 nights we stopped.
