Location was perfect with a lot of nature around. The host was really friendly.
In the night there were midges but not inside the room.

The host was super friendly and supportive. Offered me a dinner when I arrived late and there were no other place open to have food. The room was big, good internet connection

Very friendly and helpful hosts, the check in was quick and smooth, the room was clean and had everything we needed, it was nice to have breakfast brought to our room in the morning and also we could choose what we wanted to have. Fresh ingredients and fresh fruit from their garden. Overall amazing stay, definitely recommend Cartmel to anyone.

We liked very much that we could make our own breakfast (as it was not included) at the picknicktable in the garden. The little ducks and chickens were adorable!
Also our host was very hospitable; noticing that we had not had a warm meal, she later offered some food she could spare- we by then had already eaten something else, but much valued her offer !
The room was a bit difficult to use -Maybe not a tv-table but at that place a small seat?
Or instead of the high desk a lower small table where one can sit on a low stool at either side?

I booked on a very short notice (after 9pm) and got a cosy room with bunk beds that were super comfortable. Super friendly hosts and (if you book it) very good breakfast. Thank you!!

Lovely fresh vegan breakfast - very much above the usual standard. Arrived at 7pm and the host watched for the bus and came out to meet me, as it was dark and first time stay. Heating was thoughtfully put on before I arrived. Hot shower, toiletries and lovely bath robe. Bed extremely comfortable. Hosts very friendly and welcoming.

Lovely welcome. Hosts were exceptionally welcoming. Home cooked breakfast was superb, especially as I had requirements that were catered for without issue and it was very tasty indeed.

This is one of the best places where I stayed, during my recent walking-trip throu' the North-West of Scotland!
It is a private place run by a very nice couple. For which nothing was too much.
As there was no place in the area where I could have a meal, the lady of the house cooked me a lovely meal every night. And also a excellent breakfast.
Again, this is a "grade one" place to stay as far as I'm concerned. Lovely people, excellent place to stay!
Can't think of anything.

Good facilities with good space suitable for self catering. Off road parking next to the shack.
Bed not as comfortable as it could be. Quirky decor will suit some people.

Cartmel is a very unusual comfy place to stay. The hosts are very friendly with a hippy feel. Breakfast very good and served in your room.
Cartmel has a very lived in and messy look about it which was a bit of a shock at first. The room was smaller than expected but only because we have motorbike gear which seems to fill every bit of space. Not a usual B&B but welcoming nevertheless.

The breakfast was great - I loved the trolley arriving with everything prepared for us and all beautifully cooked! The location was ideal as we cam to visit the Russian Arctic Convoy Museum which is just up the road. David and Sam also cooked us to wonderful evening meals which were much appreicated.
There was nothing I didn't like. I chose the location and Cartmel fitted the bill perfectly. If I was being picky there was only room for one armchair in the room which my husband bagged every time! Otherwise we had everything we needed.

Sam was so accommodating to us: two cycle-weary travellers. For a small cost she prepared us an epic feast of roast chicken, potatoes, veg and gravy, and ice cream which hit the spot perfectly. She washed our cycling clothes for us, and prepared a delicious cooked breakfast in the morning. They have good bike storage and some maintenance facilities for any mild mechanicals. All in all a fantastic stop over for the NC500 bike touring mob. Would recommend.

The B&B is located in a quiet place. In the morning you will wake up with songbirds and the chickens rambling in the garden. Thanks to them you will get super fresh scrambled eggs for breakfast. The room is big and comfortable.
There are not many places in the area to eat in the evening.
