A really friendly welcome, including a check in call on day of arrival.
Really unfussy place. Perfect for folks who just want a bed for the night with privacy and some facilities.
No complaints.

Great location, spacious, clean and good facilities. We stay here when getting the ferry over to Ireland. Laird's Inn is worth a visit (book in advance) nice walk through the woods from the back of the hostel. Cheers Panni :)

Great base for seeing the area. The area is full of great hiking opportunities and historic castles, abbeys and ruins to see. A set of lovely towns to see. I consider Dumfries and Galloway to be the missing half of the Scottish Borders. Doesn't get enough visitors and needs more coverage by other travel agencies.
A couple of fold away chairs for the rooms.

Nice decor,clean room,
Check in said 4 to 9pm ,at 6,30, shut, notice ion door to phone, and a text message, with room details , ihave previously cancelled, accomodation with self check in, false impression on advert, reception open until ,9, not in 2 days did we see,a member of staff, room had no sound proofing , not. nice listening to next-door in toilet, and not for them hearing us, describes as a budget small double, you still expect basics, 1, no where proper to hang clothes, only 4 hooks , on a coat rail, with just 2 hangers, only 1 bedside light and small bedside table, no, room for 2, r just no where to put your clothes,, not evena small chair bathroom n,o shelve or cupboard for your toiletries, calling it budget, does not mean you don't provide basics.. shared kitchen is 2 floors below down a spiral staircase, we like a cuppa in a morning in the room,,totally impractical to carry 2hotcups up the stairs, through 4 Fire doors ,which are therefore a reason, but we found on 2 occasions they where blocked open ,by fire extinguisher, we shut them as kitchen door , only to find same again 2 hrs later, no staff in evening on either night , exactly the reason we won't stay in self check in establishments, I can only comment on this room ,and common areas ,but room is not fit for purpose, too small for double,, and facilities poor , we won't be back ,and in view of our experience, I would question the reviews ,we read, when booking the room,
It's ok having a number to phone, but the things that need attention can't be done on the day,
We left at 8,15.am after 2 poor night's sleep ,hearing toilets talking etc, both nights ,due to lack of soundproofing , not the people in other rooms,
TV.

My daughter and I just needed a good clean reasonably priced place to stay for the night and Barholm Accommodation was perfect. Very clean with good facilities, comfy beds and a good shower. Andy Pandy is a friendly and helpful guy who knows this area of Scotland well and told us a couple of places we should visit, the lovely Portpatrick being one. We would have no hesitation in staying again.
We cannot think of anything.

Four of us travelling by bike arrived drenched. The manager Andrew immediately offered to put our clothes through a quick wash and tumble dry!
We had two double rooms which were very comfortable with great ensuite bathrooms. The hit showers were especially welcome.
With no restaurant/pub/takeaway close by we took advantage of the Robnroll facility, ordering food with the tablet provided on our room. Food arrived within an hour. We ate in the kitchen/dining room, with drinks purchased from the local shop.
We also bought breakfast stuff from the shop.
We had a great stay and would not hesitate to book Barholm again.
The manager Andrew was superb.
Initially we had concerns about getting an evening meal, but Robnroll worked a treat so in the end there was nothing to not like!

Great staff, Panny was kind and explained to me everything I needed to know about the property.
Comfortable beds, clean bathroom, communal facilities in great shape, all paired up with a friendly smile and jokes from the team managing the place.
Will definitely be back again!
