We had an amazing family holiday staying at Vesta View which was perfect in every way. The house is stunning and extremely well equipped to enable a great holiday for all of us. Thank you to Leah and Kevin for the hospitality.

House very comfortable and well equipped. One member of the party was a wheelchair user and the layout and facilities were excellent. The view out of the sitting room is wonderful.

8 of us stayed here ages from the youngest aged 3 to great granny aged 93. Beautiful house which was comfortable, well equipped and very clean. Loved the on tap hot water and the double oven. Bedrooms were comfortable and bright. We all loved the space and the accessibility bathroom was a great help. Blown away by the generous welcome hamper, especially enjoying the rum cocktail ( which we are now seeking out ) and the yummy chocolate cake waiting in the fridge. We loved watching the chickens, quite often sheltering in the hangovers as it was raining quite a bit sadly. We still managed to get out and about and property is close to Hadrian’s Wall so lots to see close by. Would highly recommend staying here.

We booked this for two families for a long overdue catchup.
The layout worked perfectly, one family downstairs and one upstairs. Plenty of space for everyone and every minor detail had been thought of.
Lots of games on the landing & info about the local area, a manual for everything-even the alarm clocks! The most friendliest of chickens roaming about & a wonderful welcome hamper!
The views are breathtaking. The house was immaculate. We will absolutely be rebooking.

We had an excellent stay in this very comfortable and extremely well-equipped house - it really is perfect for people of all ages. The views are fabulous and we were blessed with near perfect weather - although I imagine that even without lovely weather it would be a very pleasant place to stay. It really was a memorable weekend in all sorts of ways - thank you.

Having spent a fantastic week-end at Vesta View our entire party were keen for me to express our delight with the property & the owners.
The house is a wonderful property finished to an extremely high standard, every room & amenity tastefully furnished & decorated with absolutely fantastic views over Northumberland.
The attention to detail is lovely with free wine & even cake provided for us on arrival, it is unusual for owners to supply so many extras but all were very much appreciated.
I could not recommend it highly enough & anyone staying will not be disappointed, so on behalf of us all thank you for a wonderful stay.

Stayed here with some friends to celebrate my 30th birthday and couldn't of picked a better spot and was definitely the highlight of the celebration. The property is stunning, very clean and extremely well equipped with everything we needed and more. The views were absolutely breathtaking and we couldn't stop taking pictures, loved lighting a fire sitting back and taking in the views with a drink. Bedrooms were cozy and very comfortable. We wished we had stayed longer but have already decided that this won't be the last time we stay here and will be returning in the not too distant future. Thank you for making it a birthday to remember.

We were fortunate to return to Vesta View for this year as a family group of adults reuniting for Christmas week. Vesta View hits the nail on the head for this as it has spacious, well equipped en-suite rooms with no need to argue over the best rooms as in other properties, each bedroom benefitting from the not-to-be-underestimated views.
As it was Christmas week, we made heavy use of the well-equipped kitchen; two ovens is heaven when tackling turkey and sides for eight people, roast gammon, pies and several cakes were conjured up for our self indulgent group, making good use of the big dining table for leisurely brunch and our lavish family dinners.
The lounge affords a comfortable place to take in the ever changing view over the Tyne valley, cosy by the fire if the weather is unfavourable, but the location of Vesta View draws you out to experience the National Park. The obvious attractions of Hadrian's Wall path direct from the front door is a mixture of first-class scenery and historical significant site rolled together.
It is hard not to be a tiny bit jealous of Kevin and Leah's young family living up in one of the most scenic spots in the country, fortunately they are generous in ensuring our stay (and presumeably yours) is enjoyable, from local advice, welcome treats and a wheelbarrow delivery of wood for the fire on Christmas day. Even if it was just for the week it made for a superb relaxing break - all in all, another 5 star stay at Carraw.

The property worked well for less physically able guests. The wetroom and shower seat and rails near the toilets were very useful as was the level access from parking area. All of the treats such as the cake and wine were much appreciated. Thank you for making it a very enjoyable stay.

We first stayed at Vesta View two years ago, and we were quite simply amazed at every aspect of the accommodation. Absolutely everything had been considered, and then implemented in the best way possible.
And two years later? Vesta View is just as fresh and special feeling. And as before, mention just must be made of the accessibility it really is top notch for those who require it.
I can already feel a third visit coming on!

As a large family group we frequently book self-catering accommodation for get-togethers and we all agreed that this was the best we’d encountered in the UK. There was no squabbling about who got the ‘best’ room as each had the wow factor - extremely comfortable beds, good bathrooms and each one facing those fabulous views. As one of our party uses an electric wheelchair, accessibility was important and Vesta View ticked every box including an excellent, spacious wetroom. We hope to return again one day.

Stayed in this lovely house from Dec 28th - Jan 4th with 8 family members & our grandson,on arrival we found that Leah (the owner) had made us a beautiful chocolate cake and had left us a bottle of Prosecco and jars of chutney & jam,
the house was absolutely spotlessly clean, views are stunning and location is exactly what we wanted (very remote with excellent walking spots in close proximity) then on New Years Eve Leah & Kevin left us a crate of drinks for the whole family, the hospitality is flawless and would not hesitate to come back again.
Thank you so much guys hopefully see you again in the future.
Patrick O'Brien & family.

location provided an excellent base for all the activities we had planned - Hadrian's Wall, cycling in Kielder, National Trust properties and sightseeing.

From the moment we pulled up on the drive we were wowed by Vesta View. The whole building has been designed thoughtfully, and the interior is understated but very comfortable and to a very high standard. If space to swing a cat in is what you’re after, bring the whole cattery, there’s room aplenty in Vesta View.
The sitting room is quite incredible. The view is beautiful. As the weather changes, so does the view. We could sit there for hours, just watching the changing light, and if a storm approaches, you’ll be treated to a dramatic sky. The sofas are very comfortable, lighting choices for the room are good. The open plan aspect includes the dining area which contains a large dining table and chairs for ten people. Again… space. And space for the wine fridge :)
The kitchen is wonderful. Everything we could need was in there, and more besides. Plus you can see the resident chickens outside, wandering around. They’re a friendly bunch, and one of the cockerels will probably wake you up around sunrise, which is nice.
The bedrooms are wonderful. If you require an accessible bedroom with accessible shower room, Snipe is the room for you. Very well thought out, and the owners are very understanding if you have particular requirements. They strive to improve. All bedrooms have views and are en-suite, and there’s a choice of wet room, shower over bath, and shower cubicle.
If you’re after a taste of luxury while catering for yourself, and want to be close to the various sites along the section of Hadrian’s Wall, I really can’t imagine you’ll find better than Vesta View. Add to the above Hexham, a lovely town with all most people will need, and this could be the ideal holiday for most of us.
We just hope we can return!

We couldn’t fault the property or our stay there in any way. We were bowled over by the breathtaking views from every window, the excellent facilities with attention to detail and the warm welcome we received on arrival. The icing on the cake was the chickens that roamed freely around the property, providing much interest and amusement! An absolutely joyful experience.
