The cottage space, location, amenities, Lake view and access, and comfort were just a few positives that made our stay so wonderful. The large fenced-in backyard was particularly special for our pup. David was a 5 star host who was thoughtful and accommodating. Hope to return next summer. Thank you David!

The house is very uncomfortable- the seating in the living area was very old and has seen better days. The beds had mattresses that were old and lumpy. One of the beds had more than two mattresses and a topper. A sign that it’s time for a new mattress set! The mattress in another room was sagging and also lumpy. If you tried to sit on the edge you realized that the box spring underneath was smallest which made the top mattress unstable. Some of the porch chairs were falling apart where they were attached to the frame.
The carpet was old and didn’t seem very clean. The windows were dirty and filled with bugs.
The furniture and beds need to be replaced with new comfortable pieces. The steps leading to the lake had poison ivy in them. Overall it seems like the place needs a total refresh. With no airflow it would be recommended to have air conditioning or at least multiple window fans. The two positive things are that it’s dog friendly and close to the lake. Overall we were six adults and none of us liked the place.

This lovely lake house was perfect for a get-away. The host had absolutely everything we needed, from shampoo and soap to dishes and pans! The fenced backyard was perfect for my pup, who enjoyed a daily visit by the neighboring cows. The property also has two very long clotheslines for your clothes. With the lake breeze it made the laundry experience a pleasure! The wifi worked great, as well as all of the appliances, etc., as listed. The window by the dining table offers a spectacular view of the lake! As a recommendation to guests, the back bedroom on the left is on the lake side and offers a wonderful breeze through the windows if you open them. It makes for perfect sleep. We will be back!

Very comfortable and clean cottage. The fenced yard was great for our pups. Traffic on the street between the cottage and the Lake was really the only negative. The speed limit is 45 and cars were constantly speeding on W. Shore Road.

Property Manager communication was excellent accommodating us on a short notice. The cabin seemed like it hadn't been open in a while. It was a little musty when we first arrived.

Enjoyed our stay at this wonderful area. The communication with David was timely and helpful. He provides guests with a great list of things about his lake home and community establishments. We checked out five and each spot, the staff were so welcoming. Sunsets are spectacular. The fire pit was nice although Mother Nature did not totally cooperate. The fishing was very good and large mouth bass were plentiful. We fell in love with this area of Laje Champlain.

We enjoyed our time at Lake Champlain. The property is great for traveling with a dog due to the fenced in yard. We enjoyed the grill, fire pit and access to the lake. The shower was on the small side. David was helpful and responsive when contacted. Thanks!

My family of five thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at the lakehouse. It's conveniently situated just across the road from the lake. The free public boat ramp is just four houses down the road. Sunsets from the front porch or the dock were awesome. It is just an hour to Burlington for a day outing. I also recommend a trail ride in Grande Isle at Breakaway Farms. The Grande Isle farmers market on Saturdays is a must do.

We had minor issues finding lock box (which was our fault). Owner was immediately available and friendly, helped us right away get in. The best part of this property is the easy access to private lake edge & dock. We sat there for hours enjoying the view-- heaven. And much to our delight, a herd of friendly cows often hang out on the other side of fence in the back yard. Fun! Downside to this property was some housekeeping issues- there were half-empty bottles of wine on the counter, fridge had left over food and jars of nearly empty salsa, queso, some sliced lemons in tupperware etc. The counter in the hallway was piled high with blankets and laundry in baskets. One bed was made, but it was not the one we wanted to sleep in (we wanted the larger bed) so we were doing a midnight hunt for bed sheets which we didn't enjoy after a long day of travelling. Despite all the laundry piled nearby, we didn't find a set that fit until the next day. We would have given a 4 or 5 if it weren't for these issues, which are preventable so hopefully next renters won't have that experiencenow that owner is aware. It'd be a great place if you have dog due to doggie door and fenced yard.

Great VT Trip
My husband and I had a great time here at this cabin. We came for our second wedding anniversary. We were here Oct 8th through 18th. David gave us clear instructions, places to go, and shop. We did a lot of wondering of the area. Karen and her husband own the farm directly behind the property...we got to see the cows our first night! It was lovely! They have veggies, AMAZING COOKIES (order ahead),and eggs to purchase. Loved the fenced in back yard and doggie door for our dog. Fireplace in front was great. It was such a great peaceful time. We had our own private dock and decks. We met the neighbor to the left (when in the back yard) they were so nice gave us some great fishing and exploring areas. We would definitely recommend renting this lovely place. Would be a fantastic place for families.
We bought a bed foam for our mattress. It was a bit uncomfortable. But really that was the only thing we could complain about. There's even a sunroom/mud room with shoe rack, table and chairs. Washer worked great and the weather worked out to where we could hang our clothes on the line. If you are looking to get away for any period of time. It was just what we needed.

Beautiful sunsets only a stone’s throw from Canada.
Very nice vacation experience. Fenced in backyard worked well with our dog. Very clean, well maintained camp. We especially enjoyed biking down West Shore Rd and around Isle La Monte.

Relaxing vacation on the lake
Nice place with room for us all. The lake was right across the road with a patio and dock. The water is clean and the boat launch is walking distance away. I was easily able to launch my 19' boat and there was never a line or lack of parking. There is a nice fire pit for evening relaxing.
We had a great vacation.

A delightful getaway
We certainly recommend this property. The house is well equipped and very comfortable - not formal or sophisticated, but relaxed and charming. We slept so well! Kitchen had everything we needed and we used the BBQ almost every night. It was a great touch to have some food and toiletries available - that was much appreciated. Wifi worked well. The road out front was not busy and there is easy access right onto Lake Champlain. We swam almost every day and there is a boat launch nearby. We were pretty low key, but we went on a number of delightful walks within about 15 minutes drive. Farm stands are great for local fresh food and we loved the store and new brewery in North Hero. Sitting outside watching the amazing sunsets across the lake was a delight. Communications with the owner were excellent.
