Your next escapade to Maunaloa will be unforgettable thanks to this 1,000+ sq. ft., garden/ocean view condo featuring an open floor plan, hardwood floors, wood-planked cathedral ceilings, two skylights, and a magnificent fully-screened, wrap-around 400+ sq. ft. lanai) in Paniolo Hale! Here, you'll enjoy a quiet and private escapade–C-1 is a secluded corner condo (only one neighbor) in a three-unit, single-story bungalow (no noisy upstairs neighbors). It is bounded by several huge monkeypod trees and a banyan tree, which form an enormous overhead tree umbrella, rendering C-1 more like a paradise island private home rather than a crowded condominium hotel room.
Convenience is assured at this charming condo! C-1 is accessible via a ground-floor, private, front-door entry and its floor level (no interior steps), your car’s parking spot, and the solid concrete, short walkway connecting the two, are all on the same street level. No steps to climb, outside or inside. This breezy escapade is dominated by its fully-screened (floor to ceiling) lanai and the uniquely Hawaiiannglass wall, consisting of 18 individual wood-encased sliding glass doors, which open off the bedroom and both exterior sides of the living room to let in the sound of the waves breaking on Kepuhi Beach. The lanai is furnished with comfortable teak-wood cushioned deck chairs and chaise lounge, as well as a large dining table, and when you are not on the beach or hiking, that is where you’ll be - at dawn, sipping a morning cup of Molokai coffee, while listening to the chirps and tweets of the multitude of tropical birds departing their monkeypod trees’ nests, and at dusk, your favorite drink in hand, absorbing the birds’ musical warbles and trills as they return to roost, all while watching the magnificent Hawaiian sunset over the Pacific Ocean.
What's nearby:
Paniolo Hale is surrounded on all sides by elongated, grassy open spaces which, from the mid-1970s until 2008, constituted the 10th through 18th fairways of the now-closed Kaluakoi Championship Golf Course. These unused back nine fairways, together with the adjacent, unused front nine fairways, are contiguous to four magnificent sandy beaches which adorn the property and glorify its tropical aura. This condo is a mere one-minute walk away from the 10th fairway trail which is adjacent to the strikingly beautiful Kepuhi Beach. If you proceed to the left (south), the 10th and the 1st fairway trails lie adjacent to and along the entire length of Kepuhi Beach. Continuing in the same direction, a stroll down the 3rd fairway trail leads you to Papohaku Beach, the longest white sand beach in the state of Hawaii, and, if you desire to continue southward, the 4th fairway trail lies adjacent to and along a portion of the beach’s three-mile length. If, however, instead of turning left, you turn right (north) off the 10th fairway onto the 11th and 12th fairway trails, you’ll be trekking for several minutes along a rocky formation dotted with tide pools until unfolding before your eyes, will be Make Horse (dead horse) Beach, a romantic (despite its name), wide sandy beach, bounded by Keawe trees which provide comfortable shade from the ever-present Hawaiian sun. Walk up the 13th fairway trail, turn toward the ocean and climb up the small hill in front of you, and you’ll arrive at two coves, bounded by towering rocky walls, which shelter small sandy beaches in a scene straight out of the South Pacific.

I loved the wrap around screened in porch that you could relax on in the quiet shade. And the closeness of the beach.

Very nice property on a secluded part of the island. We would recommend this listing to family and friends.

Loved the airy doors that kept the place comfortable with giant Lenai, made it feel very spacious. A very nice place with beautiful ocean walks. Perfect in my mind.

Serene stay! everything we needed and beautiful beaches

We appreciated the clean bedding and comfortable bed and the accordion doors in the living room make it possible to enjoy the breeze blowing through the unit. We also appreciated being walking distance to the beach and a nice walking trail.
Unfortunately, the unit was not clean. The floors were filthy throughout so I swept the unit on our first day. There are lots of lizard droppings on the TV stand, cable box, and remote control. The full size stainless steel fridge has stains on it. The shower curtain is covered in mildew.
We paid close to $200 in cleaning fees so we expected the unit to be clean. To make matters laughable, the checkout instructions ask renters to take the sheets off the bed, take the trash out, and start a load of laundry (towels, I guess) in the washer (no detergent provided).

We were on Molokai for a wedding that took place at a neighboring complex. We choose this place to be a little separated from the wedding site and the other guests from out of town so we could relax and have a nice get away to ourselves. This condo was perfect. It's large lanai/screened in porch was wonderful and made the place seem larger. The lush landscape gave us privacy even being right on the parking lot. It is placed a short walk to the beaches which we enjoyed daily. Only complaints are the lighting especially in the bathroom, the cushions on the porch needed a good hosing off, and a broken? skylight that kept dropping debris onto the kitchen counter. All in all it was a wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone wanting a nice quiet to stay on Molokai.

The location is great and the accommodations are good. We were disappointed with the cleanliness. Had to wipe all counters down, didn’t sweep but it was needed, the shower curtain was nasty moldy. Washed dishes before using, not trusting that they were clean.

This cottage is just as pictured. We fell in love with it. We have already booked for next year. The property manager, Vacasa, was extremely helpful, gracious, responsive and professional. Thank you so much!

We are so fortunate to have stayed here. One of the most beautiful units we’ve seen. We really enjoyed the screened-in lanai, surrounded by lush foliage. The bedroom was beautiful and the string of lights above the bed was delightful!

Paniolo Hale is a wonderful place, and we love going there. almost all of the condos available for vacation rental are a little funky, but this unit really isn't workable unless it addresses some major issues. First, there are no curtains, not even in the bedroom. because it's surrounded by road/parking on 3 sides, you can feel like you're in a fish bowl. We had to change clothes in the bathroom. Yes, there's a lot of screening plants, but when the groundskeepers are mowing the lawn a few feet from your bed, you'd really like a curtain. (The groundskeepers are very nice and respectful and do excellent work - but it would be nice to have more between us then the unspoken agreement not to look at each other.) There's also a bright streetlight right outside that glares right on your face when you're in the bed. Second, the unit is dark. there are so many plants around it that even during the day you need the lights on. But, the lighting is insufficient (I seriously needed a flashlight to read a book on the sofa), and relies on those cheap fluorescent bulbs that have both a really harsh glare and are also just not bright enough. Third, it says it sleeps 4 and is 1000+ sq ft. The bedroom is separated from the living area by folding doors, so there is little privacy from the rest of the unit. the 2nd bed option is an inflatable mattress, not a sofa bed as i had assumed. Given the inevitable bugs and general state of the floors, I really didn't want my kid sleeping on a mattress on the floor. There's also nowhere to put it, except the lanai, but the streetlight and lack of privacy made that a no go. The unit *might* be 1000 sq ft if you include the lanai. We made up a bed on the sofa. I would not recommend this unit for more than 2. Lastly, it just needs some updating for guests. E.g., the shower curtain was black with mold; there's some water damage in the bathroom in need of repair; the smoke detector had been removed; the sheets and towels are ancient; throw pillows were greasy with age and hard as rocks; there was an assistance chair for the bathroom taking up most of the space in the closet, leaving nowhere for our clothes or bags. There was very little provided - no soap for the dishwasher, no kitchen staples, not even salt, so make sure you get the basics at the grocery store before your stay. Vacasa staff was helpful and brought additional towels (the home had a grand total of 3 threadbare towels when we arrived) and dishwasher soap promptly. On the plus side, the home was fairly clean overall, and for Paniole Hale had very few bugs.

The wrap around screened in porch is wonderful. We had all the doors open to the ocean breeze day and night. Well stocked kitchen, beach towels and chairs available for our use. We loved our stay and would be happy to return

Wonderfully quiet place on the "slow" island. We loved the location near our favorite beaches and the place was very comfortable. We cooked pretty much all our meals at the place - everything you need to do that. Dishwasher was a little sketchy but they are repairing that machine. A good value for a restful time.

We loved the open air concept when all doors opened out to the screened lanai.

We normally stay with family on Molokai, but this trip was bittersweet as we celebrated the life we had with a dear family member. After spending time with ‘ohana, it was a treat to come back to a peaceful place and wake to the sound of birds and gentle breezes. Mahalo for a beautiful hale away from our home. We will be back. A hui hou and mahalo!

For the love of molokai
2nd time renter C-1 we love Molokai and come as much as we can, this is a great hidden gem of a spot! Hidden in the canopy of the trees, with a great breeze. Great for two people to feel at home and remember you go to Molokai to chill, walk, hike and sunset! Bring your food with you. Go to stay!

Great space, beautiful beach, friendly service
We had a great stay here. Communication was excellent before and during our stay. Management was very accommodating. A bit of a drive to town, but worth it for the location and access to a beautiful beach steps from the unit. The place has a very functional layout. The best feature was the wraparound lanai. Would definitely stay there again.

C1 - very nice rental
A dry Baw
Very Hawaiian -Although you can hear the ocean yet not see it - it has a very tropical feel to it because of the decor and surrounding greenery.
House brings that all together.

Amazing Get Away!
This condo was a great get away from everyday life! The wrap around lanai is fabulous, wake up to birds chirping every morning and the complex that it is located in is beautiful. The condo could use some updating, overall very clean and Vacasa answered our request for additional items quickly!

Good potential, but FILTHY and outdated
While the location of this unit is tempting, we don't recommend booking. When we arrived, the unit looked like it had not been cleaned in months. The floors (both inside and on the lanai) were covered in dust, bugs, and lizard poop. The countertops and appliances and bug droppings everywhere and all of the furniture was covered in a layer of dust and debris. There were large dead cockaroaches scattered about and we spent the first hour of our vacation thoroughly cleaning the unit. After our stay we sent photos of the unit to the property manager requesting a refund of our cleaning fee and they suddently went radio silent. Definitely do not recommend booking this unit if you expect a clean place to stay.

Beautiful & Quiet
This was an awesome unit that was spacious in the best ways. The wrap around screened porch and the sliding doors that lined two sides were the best parts. Comfy/clean bed. Kitchen with just the right amount of supplies. And such a short walk to the beautiful beach. Hope to stay here again.
