This lovely, oceanfront studio is the ideal place for a relaxing getaway to Hawaii! It has a screened-in lanai with furniture to lounge on and is within walking distance to all our beautiful white sand beaches and a sundry shop located in the old hotel. It's quite a large studio with a full kitchen that has all your amenities, a queen-size bed, living room, and dining area. It has free internet, cable TV, and a private washer/dryer. This studio sits below and is a short stroll up the steps to the shared outdoor pool and BBQ areas.
What's nearby:
Paniolo Hale is located on Molokai's West end and on the ocean. There is Kepuhi Beach right in front and it is great for surfing in the winter months and perfect for swimming/snorkeling in the summer months. Just a short walk over the old golf course is the Papohaku Beach to the longest white sand beach in the state of Hawaii. Very rough in the winter months and cannot swim, but awesome to watch the waves break in and in the summer months great for long ocean swims and shell finding. A short walk to the left brings you to Make Horse with lots of little tide pools for taking a cold tub or letting the kids catch the little fish. You are six and a half miles from Maunaloa town where there is a small market open daily to 5 PM. The Molokai Airport is a short 13-mile drive.
Kaunakakai Town is about 19.5 miles and that is where most of the groceries, art shops, gift stores, mini markets, restaurants, equipment rentals, and our county offices. The east end of Molokai with other great little beaches, a playground for the little ones, and a small market with takeout foods is a good hour drive. There are many things to see and do on Molokai but most are all outdoors. If you like to paddle rent a kayak or stand-up board and paddle over our barrier reef.

Paniolo Hale is a great place to slow down and relax. High contrast to the busy-ness of Maui. Comfortable condo with ocean view and sounds. Beautiful grounds with lots of walking paths and pretty beaches. 30 minute drive for groceries, restaurants, whale-watching and snorkeling/diving tours. Condo itself could use some updating (bath and kitchen).

I’ve stayed here before and I loved my return visit just as much. Always a perfect spot.

Beautiful spot. Steps to the ocean.

This is a sweet little spot (with an emphasis on little) with a beautiful view of the ocean and night sky. It’s ideal for a solo traveler who’s looking for solace and a great porch to read a book. However if you are a couple traveling in the summer and looking for a private beach getaway, this is not the place for you. There is next to zero privacy as the lanai and the front door are your primary sources of breeze. While my fiancé and I stayed there, we had to purchase our own fan because it would get so hot and stuffy with the doors (front and to the lanai) closed. This studio also has more furniture than is needed which makes the space feel cluttered and adds to the stuffiness. We did enjoy our time at Paniolo Hale - the neighborhood is charming, residents are kind and the pool is lovely!!! The listing needs to be updated - as there is a notice that the pool is closed due to COVID - pool is open 9 am - 8 pm with a working BBQ.
If you have not visited Molokai before, you want to stay on the west side and you want to book your stay at Paniolo Hale. These are musts!

Lovely oasis amongst the dry western Molokai landscape. Right by the ocean with great views. The beach was lovely to hang out on. Only drawback is there isn’t any food places nearby, you have to go to town for everything. Would definitely stay again!

This place is absolutely fantastic. If I’d known how peaceful and beautiful is there, I’d have stayed much longer. Aloha to the locals for keeping it that way!

Ideal location with Huge View!
We had a fantastic time staying at this condo! The condo community is well maintained, beautifully landscaped, and filled with a mix of long term residents and guests. Keep an eye out for the wild turkeys! The condo itself faces southwest and has a HUGE view of the ocean and surrounding landscape. The pictures don't do the view justice! It's a short walk down to the sand and waves, great for surfing and sunbathing, but the currents are a bit strong for swimming most days. Incredible sunsets every night!! The interior of the condo is comfortable and well-stocked. We cooked dinner each night and woke to the sounds of birds and waves each morning. Molokai is best for those who want quiet and calm, and this condo was perfect to find that.

Great view, comfortable, but due for a makeover
I-2 is a studio unit. It has a full complement of furniture and can feel a bit cramped. Somewhat because of Covid and Paniolo Hale's isolation, we ate in all but one night. The kitchen has not been remodeled but was adequate. The dishwasher was not functioning properly so we washed most dishes by hand, Some dishes in the cabinets were still dirty when we arrived and had to be rewashed.

Great quiet and tranquil location — lots to explore even just walking from your place. There isn’t much going on which is exactly why it’s so great. This is not the place for a rowdy group or yelling kids. The screened in Lanai is everything. Whale watching is worth it!. I also just drove on my own and found beaches. Many of the beach parks have showers which is great. Everything you need is there including a beach towel , blender, all kitchen things you need.
