About this cottage rental
Stylish Cozy newly updated 1927 lake view cottage located just 1 mi East of historic Geneva-on-the-Lake's “The Strip” in Ohio’s First Summer Resort.
Ideal for a girls' trip, couples' getaway, or family fun. Just steps from the lake with beautiful views from the lakeside deck and front porch. A spacious and welcoming backyard complete with cafe lights, a gas grill, and patio furniture is yours to enjoy while listening to the waves. We are roughly 150’ from the lake and are the 3rd house from the lakefront. You have lake views from the front porch and access to the lakefront with just a short walk to enjoy the full lake views and gorgeous sunsets.
In our cottage, you will find original features with all their quirks ;) yet modern conveniences and a freshly updated space including a gourmet kitchen, we also recently added Central Air Conditioning!!
For your consideration:
The bathroom is located on the 2nd floor.
A Nest video doorbell for security is located on the front porch.
The downstairs bedroom does not have an HVAC vent for the AC, though the rest of the house does, it was a new addition this year.
We provide 1 bundle of firewood complimentary to enjoy the fire pit in our beautiful private backyard complete with a propane grill.

We had a great stay, very charming house with everything we needed. Comfortable hang out space, comfortable beds, kitchen had what we needed with coffee and creamer included, bathroom even had q tips and makeup wipes! Accurate pictures, steps from the lake, we had a great weekend!

Back yard is great, over all nice stay. Few small things. Nice spice rack in kitchen, but no salt and pepper. Something off with ceiling light in 1st bedroom on right. It would glow on and off , seems like it was when air kicked on and off.? Weird right? Over all good trip. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hygee House! The rooms and decor were beautiful and we enjoyed the backyard as well. Everything we needed or forgot the host already had supplied. We will definitely be back!

Pros: Very well stocked! Outdoor games, plenty of kitchen accessories. We especially loved that the bathroom had so many extras (razors, shampoo, spray deodorant, etc, for anything forgotten). Nicely decorated. Good location.
Cons: Wrong door entry code; caused slight panic, but thankfully the owner responded right away. Upstairs doesn’t have good air circulation for AC; glad we lucked out with a cool weekend. Rooms are small, but we made it work.

Great home for families. Quick walk to lake from house. Only a few minutes of a drive to the strip. Can bike to main downtown area in 10 mins. Quiet neighborhood. Very clean and house is supplied with everything you need. Backyard area is private. We would rent again.

Stayed here for a bachelorette party, house is very cute! Short drive to the strip. Small driveway and not a lot of area for parking but nothing that would deter me from staying here again. Had an issue with the original code to get into house but owner was very prompt on getting back with me to fix the problem.

The house is just as pictured but even more stocked than we thought, had everything you can think of! We were allowed to check in early without an additional fee and the check out process was short and easy unlike a lot of places. Location is great, would love to come back in the summer.

Super cute cottage big enough to accomodate our group of 7 and close to downtown GOTL. Lots of amenities. Loved the back yard with the fire pit, grill, lights...we spent a lot of time there. Also used the cornhole set. Nice to have a washer/dryer available. We walked to end of the street to watch the sunset each evening. One bathroom a little difficult with 7 people but we managed just fine. Only issue was that it was not as clean as I would have expected on our arrival...maybe had something to do with our Sunday afternoon check-in.

Had a great two days exploring new wineries and our old favorites. Enjoyed our stay in this cottage, the bath towels are the best we’ve ever had!! The only drawback was only one bath for four women but we made it work.. Thanks for everything!

House is equipped with toiletries, spices, trash bags, towels, and so many other items. You could literally show up with clothes and not need anything else. Amy is an amazing host. Welcoming and very responsive. We would and will definitely visit GOTL and stay here.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND GETAWAY
We loved staying at this house! It was so cute, the host thought of everything. She even left us wood for the fire pit, a bunch of s’mores stuff, and a bottle of wine. Also there was a generous supply of toiletries if you forget anything. It was a really nice touch. The location was perfect for us! Walking distance to a gas station, put put, and golf cart rental. It was so easy to get to the strip and wineries, a $5 per person taxi ride away! If you are not drinking, it would be a VERY short drive. Highly recommend this property for families, couples, and small groups. This would be awesome for a bachelorette weekend. We comfortably fit 7 with room to spare. We were celebrating our friends birthday and had a blast! Thanks Amy :)

Absolutely Perfect!!
I hosted my girlfriend’s bachelorette party at this property and it was perfect! Our hosts thought of everything!! The entire house, including the bathroom, was fully stocked with anything that we could have needed. The attention to detail was remarkable. There was a little porch that over looked the lake where we sipped our tea in the morning. The strip was also walkable from the house too which was another bonus. 10 out of 10 stars. Worth every penny. Would definitely stay here again!

Relaxing Bachelorette Party Weekend
Celebrated my upcoming wedding at the Hygge House with 6 of my girlfriends. The house was beautiful, clean, comfy and very well stocked with essential items. Close to everything but far enough away that you don’t hear any of the hustle and bustle of the strip. Amy was excellent and quick to respond. We enjoyed our stay at the Hygge House and definitely created some awesome memories this weekend!

Nothing at all to complain about. Sibling reunion of sorts, house had everything we needed, even when trapped inside due to rain. House is an old cottage, but very well-updated. We had eight adults and while it was tight, we knew that going in and we had plenty of places to sit, eat, etc. Very nice location close to everything. Owner was super accommodating and even left us wine and stuff for s'mores. The one bathroom was a challenge for 8 adults, but again we knew in advance and it was just fine, plenty of towels and supplies. House is on small lane and surroundings are quiet and pretty private. Not even 100 yds to lake.

Bliss
We thoroughly enjoyed this luxury vintage cottage. It is surprisingly close to the waterfront, where the dock is a great lakeside hang out any time of the day and especially sunsets. The house was very comfortable. The back yard is a nice size with plenty of privacy, seating, a nice grill, and a fire pit. We spent a lot of time in the water and searching for sea glass on the rock beach.

Wonderful weekend Getaway!
Just got back from a weekend at Geneva on the Lake! I would highly recommend renting this property. Everything was perfect and Amy goes above and beyond making sure you have everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. And for five dollars per person sunset taxi will pick you up at the door and drop you where ever you want on the strip! Thank you Amy for making this house available for all to enjoy.
