About this house rental

Casa de Abuela is a custom home especially designed for the rainforest. The bedroom wing has two bedrooms downstairs and two with private entrances upstairs. All have air conditioning and ensuite bathrooms.

The great room has an island kitchen, large table that seats 12 and a TV/seating area. It is also air conditioned. The front porch is perfect for morning coffee while the hammock on the back porch is great for afternoon naps.
The beach is a five minute walk from the property and has been designated as one of the cleanest beaches on the Pacific coast. It has natural jetties with tide pools that are great for children to explore. And there are several local surfing instructors for the more adventurous of you.
The neighborhood was built 15 years ago and has primarily American and Canadian residents. Many live there most of the year and all are friendly and helpful. The last 500 meters before you get to the house is a gravel road and and 4x4 or high car is recommended.

This property has a well stocked kitchen. We had 9 people there and cooked most of our food in the kitchen Clean swimming pool with monkeys in the trees overhead. Nice air conditioner, which we really appreciated. A 10 minute walk down to the beach, walking past a surf rental shop.

We loved our stay at this home! The house was spacious for our large group. The weather was super hot but the AC worked perfectly. We stayed for a month and got to know the cute town and few restaurants and everyone was friendly. The road up is pretty rough but we got used to it. The pool was always clean and warm because of the weather and we spend a lot of time in it. The Wifi was overall pretty good, but no much upstairs but no big deal. It went out a couple times but someone came right away to fix it. We asked for recommendations for ziplining and a monkey tour and they were great. The kitchen was perfect and the laundry machines were better than I expected (of course not like the US). There were iguanas all over outside which was cool and they don't bother you. We saw monkeys briefly each morning if we got up early enough. My parents drove to the town mostly but we also walked there, just steep but close. We would stay there again anytime.

My husband and I, along with his parents, brother & girlfriend stayed here for 4 full days. We loved the property...lush vegetation, nice swimming pool (got A LOT of use), and wildlife sightings (we saw iguanas, monkeys, coatis, leaf cutter ants, and a snake) were all part of it's charm. The house was great. The main room with kitchen, dining/living room was cozy and exactly as pictured. We loved hanging out together here, and on the patio. It was very hot, so the air conditioning felt wonderful when inside. The bedrooms were nice as well, each with a private bathroom and air conditioning. This house is pretty high up on gravel roads, so be sure your car can handle the trek. We had a 4WD (Hundai Tuscon) and it did fine. Not a long trip up and down, just steep. The beach is close with beautiful views of sunrise and sunset. A great little market at the bottom of the hill. I was not on the rental car contract, so was dependent on others to drive me up and down to the beach/market etc. Technically would have been walkable, but the route is very steep, and in that kind of heat, you won't feel like moving much, let alone walking up and down steep inclines. We loved our time here! Would love to still be there.

The house was great, the pool was awesome! The wildlife was amazing! Management was great also! A few laydown chairs by pool would be nice, and beware getting transportation into town isn’t the easiest. It’s best to have that planned before being dropped off.

This house was exactly what we needed for a relaxing vacation. The kitchen and rooms were perfect, the AC worked well when we needed to cool down, and the hosts were very attentive and responsive the entire process of booking, figuring out what to do, and helping us know where to find the specific items we were looking for. We would absolutely come back again. My kids could not get enough of the fresh fruit and wildlife. So many great memories made!
