The cottage was very cute and well stocked with pots and pans and spices if you want to cook. The snacks and water were very much appreciated. The bed was very comfortable. We didn’t mind the sound of the trains at night but the blowing train whistle woke us a few times. There are ear plugs there if needed. Unfortunately the lake was over grown with vegetation so we didn’t kayak, but we brought our own bikes and rode the Cannon Falls trail in MN. The trail was beautiful. The owner recommended the fried chicken at the Outpost Bar and Grill and it was delicious.

Great weekend getaway!!!
Great weekend getaway!!!
Lonna’s tiny house is an absolutely perfect weekend retreat. It is beautifully decorated, makes use of space well, and has all the creature comforts. She is a fabulous host; provides excellent communication, information, and welcomed us with sparkling wine and chocolates (it was my birthday weekend). She thought of everything we could’ve needed for our stay from extra toiletries to beach towels to a well stocked kitchen with spiaces, coffee, creamer, etc. I highly recommend staying in her cozy cottage! You will LOVE IT!

This house is so cozy. Lonna thought of everything to make our visit comfortable. Yogurt, fruit, bagels, eggs, butter, coffee ...everything for a breakfast. Extra comfy bed, fluffy towels, completely stocked kitchen. Extras like nightlights, hooks to hang clothing, bug spray, lantern in case of power outage. It rained the entire time we were there, but we still checked out thrifty sisters thrift store in Bay City, and went to Nelson and Alma. Amazing views. Communication with Lonna was easy, just a text away, although we had no issues. She texted just to make sure we were settled in. Everything was immaculately clean and comfortable.. We surely will be back.

My husband & I visited the Bay City area on a 3 day, 2 night motorcycle trip. Upon arriving at the cottage we were immediately happy with our lodging selection. Lonna was considerate and left a wood platform we could use for the kickstand on our motorcycle, she also made entering the cottage easy. The thought Lonna has put into providing guests a stress-free experience is above and beyond any I've experienced to date. Upon entering the cabin we were greeted with champagne glasses and a handwritten note. Lonna has beautifully renovated this space and her decorating sense is modern and inviting. I especially liked the farm-style labeling of things. The bathroom makes or breaks a cabin for me, and this bathroom was fantastic. There were no bugs that are often seen in older cottages and the shower was new (or at least seemed so!). A hook is conveniently located for hanging towels when in the shower and the towels were fluffy and fresh. Lonna provided hand soap, shower soap and enough toilet paper for our stay (I would expect for longer stays we would replenish our supplies for items like toilet paper & soap). The kitchen is galley-style and has everything we needed for preparing meals and snacks. We visited the local farmer's market in Red Wing (10 minutes away) where we purchased some of the best sweet corn we have had this summer. It was nice to be able to bring this back to the cottage to prepare and settle in for the evening. The bedroom is cozy and again Lonna's thoughtfulness shone through. The little things like having a jewelry dish at the bedside and fresh and fluffy pillows with a stash of freshly laundered cases in a cedar closet was above our expectations. Having a TV here for turning in was nice as well. Lonna stocked the kitchen with snacks and conventional breakfast! What I really appreciated was the fresh and frozen fruit so I could prepare my typical breakfast - a smoothy. Lonna also has a selection of health/beauty items so if we forgot something we could have it replaced with ease. The cottage is small and Lonna has maximized the space. Everything we could want was there and it did not feel crowded. Lonna has a shed with bicycles in it that we used one evening for a ride through the local campground. Bay City is a small, quiet town. Red Wing is close and that is where we rode most of our time in the area. In Bay City there are limited dining options for alternative diets (gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan).
