Great atmosphere. Very authentic. Caretaker/ tour guide was very friendly and helpful. He walked us through the tower. Grounds are very neat. Gave us an adjoining room for our daughter. Nice sized rooms. Comfy beds.
Better signage to find the hotel at night. A trash can in the bedroom would be helpful.

We received a friendly greeting. The unique castle atmosphere was very interesting. Our bedroom was spacious with an amazing bed and exceptional bathroom suite.

Beautiful large room, super friendly staff, great private tour of the whole castle. Very accommodating, continental breakfast included

The castle was very very nice

We stayed in the Salmon room overlooking the river Clare which was such a treat. The room was very spacious and beautifully furnished. Breakfast was continental with plenty of fresh bread and fruit. We even had homemade cake! The highlight of our stay was a tour of the castle by our host Johnny who explained how painstakingly the castle had been restored.

Yogurt was great. location convenient.
Some sort of notice in the lobby of how to reach the check-in contact would have been helpful.

The staff Dione and his team were warm and welcoming. I loved the feeling of being at home in the Castle. The accommodation was clean and neat. Views were beautiful. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely return to stay at the Claregalway Castle
There is nothing to dislike. The accommodation met our expectations

Beautiful antique furniture and art everywhere, the room was spacious and spotless with a luxurious bed, lovely bathroom with a great shower. Really good continental breakfast. John was very welcoming and helpful.

We had booked a room in this beautiful castle for one night. The room we first had seemed e a bit small, especially the bed was short for my tall husband. We asked for another room and we were moved into a wonderful farmhouse in the courtyard of the castle. So we had a superior accommodation in two floors including living room with fireplace, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. It was beyond expectations! The personnel in the castle was very nice and helpful and breakfast was also very good in a gorgeous milieu.
We liked everything!

You are in a real castle. Secured parking.
Breakfast is mostly self-service, without eggs, cheese, etc.
Internet was not working all the time when we were there.

This is a Wow! factor property.
Located not far from Galway, we enjoyed three nights at Claregalway Castle.
Our host was fantastic and made sure our stay was all that it could be. Our room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, and the breakfast generous.
But even more, staying in the restored Castle with all its history was phenomenal.
Our host gave us access to view the ballroom, the tower and other parts of the Castle, where we could learn more about its history.
Nothing to fault here.

Being the first guests in this stunning farmhouse we are very impressed. It is big, bright, airy and beautifully decorated. Beds are very comfortable! It is close to all amenities! Staff are delightful and very welcoming.
The weather🤣 Even with the bad weather it’s a very delightful experience.

Absolutely beautiful and spacious room and bathroom. Amazing bath, large shower, comfy huge bed! We also loved the very personal and kind service from the man who welcomed us (so sorry I can’t remember your name!). We ran late checking in but it wasn’t a problem at all which we appreciated!
Would be awesome to have daily housekeeping but that’s it!

We especially like the staff who were very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was a great start to the day. The castle was very well decorated with authentic furniture. The ruins of the abby in walking distance was an added plus.

Excellent experience from being greeted upon arrival to departure. Michael gave a tour of the grounds and buildings, providing an excellent history of the castle.
Nothing noted.

The Claregalway castle hotel is truly a gem. Much better than I expected. Gerry, Michael and the entire staff were wonderful. They have done an incredible job with the rooms and the restoration. I highly recommend staying here.

Great to stay in a castle with relaxed atmosphere. We could explore the keep and gardens. The rooms in the keep are amazing with 4 poster beds and coats of armour. The fact the gates are locked make you feel it is very private.
The road next to the grounds is quite busy which takes away a bit of ambience. Also there is no sign for the turn in and a line on the road made us think there was a turning lane when there isn't, which is a bit risky as you could pull in towards incoming traffic. Dinner is not available which may have been mentioned but I hadn't noticed in the advertisement.

you could explore the castle . The rooms were large, the beds comfortable. The breakfast room was open all day for drinks and snacks. Property is 11km from centre of Galway.
there was nothing I disliked, I thought the inclusion of a common room with some comfortable chairs and lounges would have encouraged more interaction between guests.

excellent facility. extremely attentive staff.

Otherwise property is part of a former castle ruin that was restored with great attention to detail. The accommodations are not in the castle building which is a museum. An additional building was erected to complement the available room potential that was part of the out houses of the castle. This new building was created to a very exacting standard to recreate the atmosphere that is modern but historical. Breakfast was included in our room and was continental with fresh berries, cereal, breads, Jogurt, coffee and was to a high standard. The dining or breakfast room is a charm with furniture that perfectly fits to the property atmosphere.
A lack of a room rubbish bin was a problem but was solved on request. The property is across from a well kept Franciscan Friary ruin and has walkways direct beside the adjacent Clare River. It’s a great place for kids too as 1) they are welcome and 2) the ground are quite large and filled with either Art objects or flowers and greenery. During our stay the neighbours cat showed up!
A walkway entrance is missing and the only entrance is through the car entrance. But the 2 gates open grandly automatically.

We enjoyed the clean room and the location.
Felt we were an inconvenience. We were welcomed when we arrived, and that was the extent of our interaction we had with the staff. No phone number in case of emergency. They had events going on and found the main front door locked. We found our way around to the back door, in the dark. Felt like we were sneaking in!
No tea bags for breakfast!!! No one to reach out to. No bed service, not the end of the world, but for the cost of the room, it would have been nice to have been told that there would be no towel change or bed service.
The alarm went off during the night. No one to greet us as we left and ask how everything went or even apologize for the alarm waking us up. After a 2 nights stay, I was very disappointed. I am Irish and brought my boyfriend home from Canada, where we live to show off our wonderful country and friendly hospitality. We were greeted everywhere else with such warmth and friendliness, and The Claregalway hotel let me down! Such a shame!

this was the best place I’ve ever stayed!! The beds were excellent “very comfortable” the continental breakfast was more than enough and very fresh, the rooms were so beautiful and so was the view. We got A+ service in every way! and the staff, “especially the castle keeper” was just wonderful in every way, we will absolutely be back!
nothing! except I would add more seating around the fire to make it feel more like a living room down stairs in the main social area. other than that it was a wonderful experience!

Beautiful room. You cannot beat wmimg up and seeing a castle every morning. The contention breakfast each morning was good. We really enjoyed the location. The staff was great and very helpful.

The whole place was just so unique. The room was exceptional. Spotlessly clean, warm and cosy, comfiest bed and the old style everything was just magic. Breakfast outside our door every day was wonderful and the small fridge and kettle in the room meant we could make ourselves right at home!
