Good positioning to city centre
Drain smells as you entered property and throughout the building. Staff generally unfriendly and not welcoming x3 that we met. A fight broke out one evening in the restaurant, during our stay when we were in our room. It went on for some time and things were smashed. No one spoke to us about it afterwards and there was no telephone in our room. I didn’t feel safe and it was generally unpleasant.
Cistern of toilet in bathroom was not consistently working without having to fix it internally. No one was present when we left and no instruction as to where to leave the key to the room.
Two members of staff outside were not interested in our stay or whether we were ok.
Whilst the executive room was well furnished and of good decor. It felt cold when we entered and we had to wait for the room to warm up with the heater.
Generally not a pleasant experience and would not revisit this property again.

Location
Ask for the main light bulb to be replaced as it would flicker after a couple of minutes not done also ran out of wire we asked for so had to purchase more expensive wine.l

The staff are always lovely and welcoming.
The food is really lovely, we have dined here a fair few times and never been dissatisfied with the meals
The hotel room was very cold so we had to sleep in jumpers!
I’m claustrophobic so having no window in the bathroom wasn’t great for me but that’s just my issue not down to the hotel itself

I thought the breakfast was included in the cost. I'm 100% sure i read it along the line somewhere. Still not too bad.

Very cozy. Decor is like a cottage or summer inn. Rooms are perfect size for single traveler. Hosts were fantastic and kind. Food was outstanding. Service excellent.
I loved everything about. Not one complaint.

The room was clean, nicely decorated and had the things you would need. It was fairly quiet and comfortable.
We had to leave at 08:00 and staff only came in at 10:00. There were no instructions about what to do with the key and check out.

Really delightful place. Just outside the centre of the city so perfect for sightseeing, especially the Cathedral. Very pleasant, helpful and friendly staff made the stay a pleasure. The rooms are bright, cheery and well furnished. Athough the rooms are over a busy noisy bar/restaurant there no noise in the rooms. There is no breakfast service but any number of cafes are open in town to cater. I would happily stay there again. Car parking on site is limited but just to the rear is a large car park with free long stay parking.

Location was handy for the centre of Ely but quiet. The veggy breakfast was enormous and lasted us for most of the day. The Staff were pleasant and helpful.
Decor in our room was a bit odd--portraits of dogs and plastic plants in pots! The TV screen was enormous and out of scale--could have been half the size!

Great location, close to everything
It was hot in the room. Small windows meant little air flow. A local building alarm was constantly going off which the hotel obviously couldn’t control but it meant we had to have the windows closed.

Friendly staff. Good shower.
The smaller window out of two in the bedroom had no blind/curtain and the light woke us very early. No instructions for checkout (no staff there when we left at 8).

The High Flyer was great, it met our expectations but we only stayed overnight so aren't able to comment on the facilities other than the bedroom and bathroom which were fine. Not stingy on the tea, coffee etc or toiletries in the large bathroom
Personal preference. At home we have a firm mattress and this one was very soft

The room was clean and had all the necessary amenities (hair dryer, kettle, tea/coffee, and even an ironing board). The bathroom was clean, spacious, and had a window. The staff in the restaurant/pub downstairs were especially friendly and accommodated our dietary requirements.
The restaurant opens for breakfast only at 10. However, there are plenty of other cafes within walking distance that open earlier.

Nothng. The standard of cleanliness in our room was disgusting. Also we were lied to and told our room had been scrubbed. The toilet was filthy with what tge last visitors had left in it. The sheets hadn't been changed, tge room hadn't, cups were filthy, towels with tears and stains on them. There was also a terrible smell townstairs through the hotel and pub. I raised my concerns with the hotel staff and was lied to originally. When l said that we were leaving, he finally said that the cleaning staff didn't turn up for duty. Absolutely terrible and no breakfast include. I can't understand how they can charge so much for so little.
As above. Absolutely disgusting and not worth the money paid. No breakfast included and definitely not a Gastro Pub. All in all, give this one a wide birth. It will ruin your break away.

the location in central Ely is excellent.
car parking is. a great advantage.
From previous experience the restaurant is very good. The staff are friendly and helpful
the breakfast menu is attractive if rather pricey but breakfast service does not start until 10 am which is too late if you are staying because you have commitments or work in the Ely area
we needed to be somewhere by 9.30 so ended up having breakfast in the cafe at Sainsbury’s
feels more like a pub with some rooms than a hotel. if they sorted out the breakfast service it would be much better

Good location. Lovely pub and restaurant. Easy free parking. Good service.
No curtains on small window in room. No breakfast in the morning contrary to advert and booking. Came down at 8am for breakfast to find the restaurant and bar all locked up with no-one about. Banged in the future and went outside and all around property but couldn't find anyone. Had to leave without breakfast and without checking out. Had to leave my room key on an inside table.

Didn't have the breakfast, location was very good for walking around town and exploring
Smell bedroom from shower, the shower trap was dry and allowing smell of drains through. Grout in shower needs a scrub and a few cobwebs over en suite doorway....

Mattress and pillows substandard and uncomfortable

The bed was really comfortable and the room was lovely
The door to the room (2) was badly fitting and took a long time to lock from the outside. There is a big gap around the door so you can see the landing light and some of the guests were really noisy. We had a lot of trouble using the door code to open the door to go up the stairs to our room. We had to fetch a member of staff to assist us. Also the bathroom sink taps are way too big for the sink . They are almost the same depth as the sink and it is hard to use the sink . The shelf above the sink is also in the way.

Comfy bed (but could be too soft for some). Good bathroom with rain shower
No view whatsoever out of windows. (Just roof top)
