Beautiful scenery from the balconies, nice and clean house with spacious rooms. The hosts were amazing and very accommodating, I would recommend mountain palace to anyone that wants to have a wonderful experience in Trinidad.
Everything was brilliant.

Perfect for Carnival in Trinidad or really any time of year. The bed and breakfast type accomodation is conveniently located close to the main entertainment and nature attractions in the north of Trinidad. Asha and Haresh were fantastic hosts, always ready to suggest fun itineraries and bringing such great energy to running the hotel and making their guests feel welcome. The hot breakfasts with excellent local cuisine options were simply delicious! Definitely looking forward to a return trip
I enjoyed it all.

The location is out of this world. Pictures could never do the view justice. Haresh and Asha are very welcoming and friendly people! They took us to local food favorites of theirs to try, and everything was fantastic. They're also very attentive to every want or need. Not to forget, Maracas waterfall is a must! We have memories and friends to cherish and last a lifetime!

Family run business, and I was made to feel like one of the family.
We had breakfast in one day, and on the other the owner took us out for a traditional Trinidadian breakfast at his expense - very nice of him.
Cool seeing the hummingbirds in the garden early morning and evening!
I've thought about this and honestly, there is just nothing negative to say about this place.

Haresh and Asha were very welcoming and looked after me well during my stay. The house is huge, and beautiful, and guests are welcome to make themselves at home there. My room was comfy, with good aircon, and was quiet.
The garden is a lovely place to relax, with a variety of birds visiting.
The location offers great views, and is nearby a variety of hiking trails and Yerette Home of the Hummingbird. It's 30-40 mins to the airport depending on traffic. It's sited within a gated community, and feels very safe.

The Mountain Palace is a very unique and boutique style place to stay and its views are truly spectacular both from the wide and comfortable terrace and from the rooms.
And while the house is a gem, it was the owners who with their welcoming nature and tailored approach to hosting guests made my stay a really great and comfortable experience. I am convinced that the mountain Palace with it's different beautiful rooms offers a unique experience catering to all sorts of travelling, from work trips, over couple trips to group vacations.
As my stay was work-related, I was working from time to time in the place for which plenty comfortable space was available.
In short, I can only recommend this place warmly and would always come back to this lovely place set in such breathtaking mountain panorama which is rare in the Carribbean.

Lovely home cooked breakfast every morning
Very friendly owners who give a personal touch to helping you out
Beautiful house with amazing views over the mountains
The hotel offered lifts to us wherever we went however we forgot to ask how much the price would be. At the end we ended up with a bill bigger than we expected. Fault was with us for not asking but the hotel could also inform guests of prices before arranging bookings to ensure everyone is on the same page

I had opted to select this mountain retreat as a temporary relaxation facility, after driving--as part of a "sentimental journey"--with a rental car, picked up from the SIXT concessionary at Picarco Airport, nearly 1350 km across both Trinidad and Tobago. I had started visiting both islands since 1976, when they were still competitive int'l Caribbean vacation spots for the unique Carnival (Trinidad) and as a beach vacation paradise (Tobago).
The REAL asset/feature of the mountain retreat IS, HOWEVER, NOT its wonderful/inspiring location, or any part of the physical facility itself, since "functionality" must often be compromised when approaching issues like "functionality & comfort" from the perspective of a visitor of contemporary vacation resorts. NO, the REAL MOTIVATION/ASSET for visiting this facility at Maracas Gardens in Guarata (Maracas Valley) SHOULD BE BOTH HOSTS, Asha and Haresh, who made me feel at home from the minute I arrived there.
I enjoyed the serenity/tranquility of their large home and, when sitting outside on the terrace, overlooking valley & mountains, and watching the humming birds flying around with their artistic flying skills, while they were drinking from the purposefully built water outlet, I almost forgot that I am in Trinidad, with its hectic and even stressful street life.....
The house was a perfect location for me to wind down from the extensive travels I did, re-visiting Trinidad and Tobago again, more than 4 decades after first living there in the Indian village of Marabella, for months on end---from January throughout March, over the course of several years---and I am very glad that I selected this particular mountain retreat.
I did not like the fact that I had to leave, flying back to Germany---via St Lucia and London-Gatwick & -Heathrow---and facing the outdoor January temperatures again, which are fluctuating above & below the FREEZING POINT of water.....

We had a fantastic stay with gracious and kind hosts, a beautiful home and environment, and easy access to the University of the West Indies. Asha and Hamresh could not be better hosts, and the home, the hummingbird gardens, the balconies overlooking the mountains, and the welcoming atmosphere was all we could have hoped for.

Asha and Haresh are lovely hosts and it felt a shame to only be staying one day. It’s an impressive property with very nice views and it was really nice to scale back our plans for the day and relax there and have a good chat. Would highly recommend visiting.

With its wonderful and very welcoming hosts, Asha and Haresh, Mountain Palace is the ideal Caribbean escape, nestled in the picturesque Maracas Valley. Upon entering the gates, every corner has a sight to behold, from the lush, green mountainside, the perfectly manicured lawns, the assortment of fresh flowers, plants, fishes and hummingbirds to the beauty of the interior design of the house that has been masterfully decorated, on different levels, with a unique artistic collection and architectural layout.
Staying at Mountain Palace feels like a true Caribbean dream. I stayed at both the Presidential Suite and one of the many Queen Rooms that have been designed for comfort, with a stylish flair and a touch of luxury.
Having breakfast at Mountain Palace is delightful. The meals are lovingly prepared and served with a warm smile, while you relax on the patio area and enjoy the cool breeze and sunshine.
Mountain Palace is the perfect stay. It is also conveniently located less than an hour from the beach. I will happily return again!

We liked the people Haresh and Asha. They are very helpfull and kind. She, Asha, cooked one day a lovely Trinidad diner, en we eat together with another guest. The house is beautifull!! The garden is a very good place for bird-watching, you see a lot of hummingbirds just from your terrace, and a lot of other birds in the surrounding. So ...sit down and relaxe and enjoy this beautiful green garden....The service of those people is great!

The location was very scenic with a beautiful mountain view...peaceful.

nothing...it exceeded my expectations just wished I could have stayed longer.

I felt like part of the family. When you are allowed full access to the kitchen, refrigerator et al, you are more than just a paying guest. Every need, shopping, banking, COVID testing was catered to. Already married or honeymoon would have been in the Presidential suite.
My first night discomfort was more about my ignorance about the a/c control on offer than a hosting problem.
