It is also home to a mainline train station which will take you to the pretty seaside town of Sheringham, to Wroxham which sits in the heart of the Norfolk Broads and even onwards to the medieval city of Norwich.
Those with cars can travel east or west from here and find a string of impressive beach habitats including wide sandy shores, salt and clay marshes, rolling sand dunes and picturesque quays. The whole area is packed with history too so do make time to visit the Blickling, Holkham, Houghton and Sandringham Estates along with North Norfolk Railway, Norwich Castle and the Thursford Collection with its Christmas Spectacular. Nature lovers will enjoy visits to Sheringham Park, RSPB Cley Marshes and Pensthorpe Nature Resort, along with the Norfolk Broads, which can be reached in around half an hour.
