About this house rental
A blend of mid-century modern, farm-house, and a touch of the South-West on 1.3 acres in a quiet, rural. neighborhood.
The great room is 2 walls of mostly glass that open onto extensive decks, with expansive views. The south end of the great room is a modern, fully equipped kitchen including a 10' x 4' island perfect for preparing meals with friends and family. The 10' long dining table seats 8 - 10 comfortably. Comfy chairs and a sectional fill the north end of the room.
The great room is surrounded by a family/TV room and 3 bedrooms, each with its own bath. Two of the bedrooms have 9' sliding glass doors that open directly onto the deck and views of the surrounding rolling hills and vineyards. The third is perfect for the person who wants to pull down the shade and miss the sunrise.
In the garden is a bocce ball court, horseshoe throw, swing set, sandbox, and available is a cornhole set and Jenga game.
Begin the day sipping your tea or coffee and watching the sunrise. End the day with dinner and a glass of local wine while watching the sky turn pink. I recommend doing it all from one of the outdoor decks. Wear a fleece jacket for the winter, a light sweater, or go sleeveless in the summer.
You may notice that our reviews took a break in October of 2017. That was when the Santa Rosa Tubbs fire took 22 lives, 36,810 acres, and 5,643 structures. We survived unharmed but all that remained of the house were a few shards of pottery and ironwork. It was shocking, frightening, and painfully sad but there is comfort in numbers and together, thousands of us cried, hugged, supported, sympathized, agonized, and helped one another.
Now, 5 years later, there are silver linings. The once dense forest has become expansive views, our 1970s ranch house is replaced by a home that is cleaner, more modern, more open, more environmentally efficient, and far more fire-resistant. It is all-electric, solar, will soon use gray water in the garden, more conducive to an indoor-outdoor lifestyle, The garden, and the furnishings are continuing to recover and evolve, but the house is complete and finally, I can once again relax and feel restored here. I hope you will feel the same. I periodically peak in or spend a little time in my studio-nest on the rooftop but I generally try to leave the house when guests/renters visit.
VENTURING OUT: We are a 10-25 minute drive to Healdsburg, Forestville, and downtown Santa Rosa, Calistoga, and more wineries than you can possibly explore in a mere week. For outdoor pursuits, there is hiking in Annadel State Park, Hood Mountain, Shiloh Ranch Reserve, etc, or head down to the Russian River for kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and enjoying the small towns and restaurants on its banks. You might also find yourself content to relax at home and explore our neighborhood on foot. If you feel a hankering for the ocean, we are a 40-minute drive to the coast at Jenner or Tomales Bay.
This is a cyclist's paradise. Options include anything from a relaxed bike ride through local vineyards to a long, rigorous but spectacularly beautiful century. Check online and consider joining one of the many organized rides hosted by local bike and/or culinary clubs. There is also a collection of bike route maps available at the house. Or ask me! :-)

This place was perfect for 3 couples to enjoy Santa Rosa. Close to everything we wanted to do. The deck and hot tub have a beautiful relaxing view. The garden area had deer and many varieties of birds. The home was well stocked. Sandy was a perfect host. We loved it there.

I’ve stayed in a lot of vacation rentals around Santa Rosa for various wine trips, and this might be my favorite house of all of them. It’s such a lovely space: outstanding kitchen, great bedroom layout, modern but still cozy, awesome windows to showcase the view. And, just wow, the view and outdoor space are absolutely outstanding!
Our hosts made sure we had everything we needed, and the instructions for everything are clear and thorough. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed at a house where I didn’t need to ask any questions because all the info was already provided. Plus, it’s so close to grocery stores, restaurants, and wineries in general - really right in the middle of everything.
I cannot recommend this house enough!

We had a great time enjoying the views and the central location made it easy to get to many wineries, restaurants and activities in Sonoma.

This property is stunning! Very quiet and peaceful. We loved evening walks around the garden and birdwatching. It was everything we could have asked for and more!

Pictures did not do this property justice! The property is modern yet still homey. We stayed here for my first Mother’s Day and had family come down. It was the perfect home for family time. The home came with everything to cook, eat, and serve.
The home is beautiful, clean, and spacious. We had not
One complaint!

Stayed here with a party of six friends and visited Sonoma and Napa. This location is perfect! Short drive into Santa Rosa and about 45 min to the Napa area. The house is clean and modern but the outdoor area is its best feature. Wonderful deck and hot tub with spectacular views! So peaceful relaxing outside listening to the wildlife and looking at the stars. Definitely recommend!!

Lovely property with great views morning, day and night. We enjoyed coffee on the deck, watching the wildlife, walking through the garden and relaxing in the hot tub at night. Neighborhood was quiet and a quick drive to anywhere we visited. Thanks for a great stay!

This home was perfect for three couples coming together for a long weekend. The home itself is beautiful and very nicely decorated. The views are amazing and with two decks to dine/sit at off different sides of the house it was great no matter what time of day. Very quiet and peaceful. Two things of note: more cooking utensils (spatulas, etc.) would be nice (obviously a super easy add). And as a heads up to any light-sensitive sleepers out there, the shades in the bedrooms let through all the light, so you will need to bring and sleep in eye masks. Overall awesome stay - would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful place to stay. Very warm and welcoming for our family. Hot tub was extremely relaxing. Hearing the turkeys and other birds in the morning was nice and homey. Would definitely recommend this for those who want to relax, release and relate.

This property is beautiful. The windows offered great views and we were close to several wineries. The host was easy to reach and gave great restaurant recommendations. We would stay here again.

I don’t normally leave reviews but we loved everything about our stay. Beautiful views, clean house and great outdoor space. The kitchen and great room are great for family gathering and having dinner. There is one TV in a bonus room in case that is important to you.

Amazing property. Beautifully set-up for a group to visit, unwind and celebrate. Wonderful views of vineyards, gardens and wildlife. Only regret is that we didn't book it for longer.

We spent Christmas 2023 here for a week and loved it. We had 5 adults overnight and 7 for dinners and it was perfectly spacious and appointed--photos are very accurate. And the views from the great room are amazing. Great location and proximity to wineries. Hot tub has views out over the valley. Host was very communicative and accommodating. We fully recommend and would love to stay here again.

This Vrbo was lovely-everything you need and wonderful views. Sandy was very kind and always got back to us in a timely manner. If traveling to this area, I highly recommend her beautiful place. About 30 minutes to Calistoga, 1.5 hrs to San Francisco.

Beautiful home, great views. The only negative was the internet was down intermittently. Overall a 5 star stay.

We met 2 other couples to do some wine tasting and have some good conversations and food. The house was very nice but it is clearly a work in progress. We loved sitting out on the deck having coffee and watching deer, turkey, birds etc. there were a few issues the biggest one being one of the beds collapsed but the owner got it fixed right away and then followed up later. One of the bathrooms had no soap or shampoo and we couldn’t get the outdoor lights to turn on. In fairness we didn’t as the owner about that. All and all a nice trip.

We have a wonderful stay! The property was gorgeous and with amazing views.

Perfect place to celebrate my birthday with friends! The view was wonderful, spacious home and fully equipped with everything to accommodate our group!

While the interior was good, we arrived to construction materials scattered along the exterior, overgrown weeds in the front walkway, and deck with a large unopen box in the way and generally not clean.

Great house! The view, the SPA and all activities around are great

This property was beautiful and was perfect for our family to be together and make great memories.

Who doesn't love the smell of a new home. When we first walked in... the clean new smell of this home was a wonderful greeting, and the panoramic view was better than pictured on VRBO. The host, Sandy, was attentive and extremely helpful when needed. Her quick response was greatly appreciated.
The things that stand out in this new house is the huge kitchen, each bedroom has its own bathroom, comfortable beds, beautiful views, quiet neighborhood and sparkling clean hot tub.
We highly recommend this home to anyone who would like a relaxing getaway, be it friends, family or couples.
Thank you for allowing us to make lasting memories,

This is the perfect property for celebrating my wife’s birthday with friends in Sonoma County. Listing and photos were accurate. Host was available for questions and responded quickly. Clean, scenic & safe.

This property was perfect for our group of 3 couples. The spaces were clean, comfortable and well supplied. Even We thoroughly enjoyed the deck, views and location. We even had some fresh lettuces from the garden. We would definitely come back!

Perfect for 3 adult couples. Kitchen was equipped with everything you might need. Host was very responsive to any questions. Lovely views from inside the house and the back deck. The hot tub was wonderful as well

Had a weekend away with some friends and the house was very accommodating to our group. The house is very clean and everything is new. Well-appointed kitchen was easy to use. Bedrooms and bathrooms worked well although one bath had a distinct buzz when the light at the vanity was turned on (likely because the fixture is on a dimmer and is not compatible with it)
Our biggest problem was that we were without hot water. After frantically making calls to every phone number left to us including one that was disconnected and waiting for callbacks (the out of town owner returned a call after 30 mins, the supposedly local property manager responded 4 hours later), we learned that yes, the water heater was known to have issues, was likely broken and a part was ordered but not installed. We all had to endure very cold showers before heading out on a long day of wine tasting.
I'd definitely return (but lesson learned - check for hot water immediately upon arrival - don't wait until your 7am shower for a 9:30 departure to learn that you have no hot water)!

Stayed here with family of three couples and two babies. The house is set up so all can be comfortable and have their own bedrooms and baths. The large living/dining area was perfect for gathering together and the views are lovely. The owner was attentive and quick to answer any questions.

Home is very nicely furnished, with a lot of space to relax in the living area.
Well stocked kitchen with any cookware/knives you’d need.
Very quiet neighborhood. The hot tub has a beautiful view.
Sandy was lovely to communicate with as well.

We just stayed here with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. It was our first time in the area, and the house was perfect for the 3 couples as everyone had their own room and bathroom. The kitchen area was large and really nice. The patio with the hot tub was a perfect place to wake up and drink coffee and hang out in the evening when we got back from wineries and dinner. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect living space, bathroom for each bedroom, and great location to go to the Napa vineyards or the Sonoma vineyards!

A beautiful property with beautiful views!

This house was located right in the middle of the wineries that we were visiting. The view was beautiful from the house and we loved the fresh garden! Nice deck to sit and visit on and a hot tub that my husband and his friend enjoyed. The house was well appointed, comfortable and had all the necessary kitchen items. We cooked in every night. We had a little issue with the hot water in the showers. But Sandy was very attentive to our phone call and was on top of everything. I would definitely stay in this house again.

We spent most of our time in Healdsburg with more family, but this home was a pleasure to hang out in and have coffee and breakfast as the mornings opened up with the beautiful views on the various outdoor decks, wandering the gardens, and the evenings closed down in lovely space.
