About this house rental

The house was built over 100 years ago but has been lovingly restored maintaining its character and many original features including solid wooden floors and cast iron fireplace.

It is located in Stoneybatter. The neighbourhood has plenty of of old school Dublin character but has been known as an "up-and-coming" part of the city for quite some time now. It is precisely this mixture which makes Stoneybatter appealing to locals and tourists alike.

Apart from the striking red brick artisan dwellings, the area is also known for the prominent Viking street names. For example, there is Viking Road, Olaf Road, Thor Place, Norseman Place, Ard Ri Road, Ostman Place & Sigurd Road. At the time of the Norman invasion, the Vikings, Ostmen or Austmenn (men of the East) as they called themselves, were exiled to the north of the Liffey where they founded the hamlet of Ostmenstown it what is now Stoneybatter.

Stoneybatter has a great choice of places to eat and drink. Brunch and dinner spots include Slice and Wuff. Older pubs such as the much-loved Cobblestone on Smithfield Square, where traditional musicians gather for regular sessions, and Walsh’s, which hosts an informal folk music night on Mondays mix gastropubs such as Mulligan’s. Mulligan's is regularly featured in articles about 'new' Irish food.

Also in Smithfield there's several other food options and the nicest cinema in Dublin, The Lighhouse which shows a great mix of new releases, old favourites and art house movies.

A 20-minute walk from the city centre, and served by the LUAS tram line from Smithfield and several buses from its main thoroughfare Manor Street.

One of the main gates to Dublin's biggest green space, The Phoenix Park is less than 10 minutes walk away. Dublin Zoo is in the Phoenix Park.

You are also just a short walk away from The National Museum of Ireland -Decorative Arts and History.
