My husband and I stayed here for a few days while visiting Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and absolutely loved our stay. The space was very welcoming, clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and even had a dual sided heated mattress pad which was very nice. The breakfast was delicious and perfectly filling for our day out exploring the area. Rhonda, our host, was very nice and we really enjoyed getting to chat with her in the mornings.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Royal Orchid Suite. It’s a lovely B&B in a perfect location close to Volcano National Park. The fresh breakfast and Hawaiian music each morning was a nice treat. We really enjoyed chatting with the other guests and sharing our various adventures from the previous day. Our host, Sarah was very knowledgeable about the area and offered several helpful tips. Our room had everything we needed, mini fridge, microwave, fireplace, jacuzzi tub.

My wife and I stayed here while visiting Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park and it was our first experience at a B&B. The host made a wonderful breakfast and her place is a gem that is only minutes from HVNP. The host also gave us great recommendations for the area and the park as well.

We enjoyed staying at this beautiful B & B near volcanoes national park. The property manager was traveling but left the home in good hands with Rhonda answering our many questions and filling us in on local sights. Breakfast was hearty and kept us going all day.

Great location to visit Volcanos National Park. Breakfast each morning was amazing. Lots of activities to do in that area. Only thing missing is the sunshine but you're in the rain forest. Lots of vegetation and birds.

Sarah was wonderful. Great breakfast every day and great advice as well. What a nice couple days on the "wet" side while we visited the Volcanoes and had a great time. Thanks! We will come again if we come to the Island again!

Everything about this B&B was awesome! Which is all a reflection of the host...Mahalo Sarah! Highly recommended!

Great place to stay and Sarah provided great service and suggestions. Everything she suggested from which beaches to snorkel, where to eat or even which coffee farm to visit were great. We got in a bit late, but she welcomed us and made us feel at home immediately.

This place was so much fun! We met friends from South Korea, the mom and the daughter in the family team, and some really nice nieghbors. We sent some friends their way, it was so lovely. We did have trouble understanding how to fill the tub with hot water but that was on us, we didn’t listen close enough.

My partner and I stayed at the lava pond lodge for 3 nights and had a comfortable, restful, and pleasant experience. The daily breakfasts in the kitchen were plentiful, delicious, and a great way to start our days. Our host, Sarah, had many great recommendations for our visit to the east side of the Big Island, and was great company every morning over breakfast. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be recommending it to friends and fellow travelers!

Sarah is an amazing host! She made yummy breakfast and even let us have a burrito for our hike! We arrived to chocolate chip cookies!
The property is lovely; like being in a tropical rainforest, surrounded by giant ferns, altherium, and serenaded by coquis at night. The property had everything you could need or want, especially an attentive and generous host. The bed was comfortable and the hot tub great. You can’t go wrong with Sarah!

What an amazing stay in Volcano! Perfectly located close to the Park and within the most beautiful rain forest. Make a reservation at one of the local cafes for delicious dining and thoroughly enjoy breakfast with the hosts!

This place was fabulous! This place offers pretty much everything you could ever want in a B&B. My room was wonderful (the Royal Orchid room), the breakfast was wonderful, hostess was wonderful, loved the hot tub and the sound of frogs croaking at night. The fireplace was awesome. Close to restaurants, the Volcanoes National Park, and the Volcano Winery. You can also go to Hilo, about 40 minutes away. I highly recommend!

We had a lovely stay at the Lava Pond Lodge BNB. Rebecca did an amazing job getting us a delicious breakfast both mornings. The jacuzzi was very enjoyable, even in the rain. Would highly recommend, but suggest booking through them directly. It was very confusing booking through Expedia. It somehow was listed as VRBO for payment and I think the price would be better directly through Lava Pond Lodge!

The setting here is beautifully tropical and isolated. The room was comfortable, especially the bed, with all we needed. The breakfasts had a variety of choices. Sarah was a wonderful host, a lot of fun to talk to and had many useful recommendations for how to enjoy the area around Volcano Park and Hilo.

This BnB is just a few minutes from the entry gate and visitor center for Volcanoes NP, so it's incredibly convenient for those visiting the park. Our first day in the park was wiped out by heavy rain and dense fog, and that's where this BnB really paid off for us. It it such a comfortable home: a large living room with plenty of comfortable seating; plenty of entertainment options: TV, DVDs, music player, CDs; and a large picture window looking out on a tropical backyard. Guest hostess Auntie Lila (sorry if I misspelled!) made breakfast a delightful and delicious experience. And on top of all that, our bedroom was clean and comfortable. We will be back someday!

We had a lovely visit with Sarah. The property is cozy, comfortable, and beautiful. The location is fantastic if you are planning to visit Volcanoes National Park, just a few minutes drive from the park entrance. Sarah was able to give us some great recommendations for the park, and for the surrounding area. Breakfast was delicious, and the Ka'u coffee is on another level. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

We had a really enjoyable stay. Great location for access to any volcano adventure, just a few minutes away. Sarah recommended we see the lava flow at sunrise so we did. She had flashlights and umbrellas for use. Weather was great while we were there but there was also a fireplace in common area for chilly nights. We had a quiet stay especially since we were the only ones the first night. Breakfast had a lot of options, served at 8 am. Room had good amenities as far as own coffee maker and fridge, tv, waters, etc. highly recommend the orchid room. Good to know that the water is collected rain and treated for personal use. We were mindful of how much we used. Drinking water was separate. Highly recommend staying if your looking for a quiet volcano getaway

We had a great first VRBO experience with this room. Not only was the property clean and spacious, it was in the perfect location and very easy to get to. Sarah was a tremendous host who gave very good instructions and tips around the area. The breakfast was such a huge bonus for us before hiking around the park. The bed was very comfortable and the hot tub was also very nice to have after a long day. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again. 🌋😀

We loved this Bnb in Volcano. The host had great communication, left thoughtful touches like snacks, water, umbrellas, torches for night viewing the Volcano lava. The highlight of our stay was the breakfasts - they were so generous! Delicious fruits, yoghurt, muffins, bagels, cooked breakfast. Our chats with Rhonda were wonderful - she made us feel like family. She learnt from us, and we learnt from her. She gave us tips where to go each day. This was by far our best BnB experience we've had, and highly recommend it to others. Location was also great - only 5 mins from Volcanoes National Park. We'll be back here some day ... it was a real highlight for us.

Staying at the Royal Orchid Suite was a highlight of our trip to the big island. The property is fantastic, the bed is great, and the amenities such as the hot tub/spa is soooo good. Sarah took the best care of us, communicated well with so many good suggestions, and the breakfast was second to none. I would not hesitate at all to recommend this property and experience!
