From the moment we opened the front door to the moment the house was in my rear view mirror everything was top notch! The beds were amazing, the decor was beautiful and the location was great! Thank you for un matched hospitality and helping us make memories of a lifetime!

I loved my stay here, as did everyone else. It’s a perfect house if you have alot of people who need their own room and everyone for the most part gets their own bathroom as well. It’s dog friendly, so I opted to take the downstairs room which has a back door right to the yard. The upstairs has a couple balconies which you can see the ocean from. It is not the most updated house but everything worked and has a grill. The older look gives the house a lot of character IMO. It is only a 15 minute walk from all the bars/restaurants. We chose to walk 99% of the time and not deal with beach parking, but if people are older or have any handicaps the walk can be taxing because it is a lot of uphill. We found the house so nice and relaxing we opted to stay in and cook most nights rather than go out to eat. The only negatives is having to be inside at 10pm and the signs say they do have cameras out back. And also they only provided 2 trash bags. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would 100% do it again.

The house is huge with a beautiful ocean view. Our group was super impressed with the comfortable beds and linens.

The home is in a great location and is enormous. It is a bit dated and could use some tlc but for a large group wanting to stay near La Jolla it fits the bill

It’s located in a nice neighborhood close to the beaches with lot of fun activities as well as to restaurants.
Overall enjoyed the stay

The home was stunning, even if a bit dated and worn down. We loved that there were plenty of rooms which allowed for our entire family to stay together. Like previous reviews mentioned, the kitchen was lacking in supplies (don’t rely on it for seasonings, oils, sugar, etc.) A few burners on the stove didn’t work but the oven seemed to work okay. The grill outside was unusable. Cleanliness was questionable but we did request an early check-in so maybe that was the trade-off. A few toiletries were provided (paper towels, dish soap, a few laundry pods, some shampoo and conditioner) but they didn’t compare to how well other rentals come stocked. We had to buy quite a bit of additional toiletries for our group.
Overall, we enjoyed this rental and would probably stay here again. The neighborhood was amazing. Ocean views and being a 15 minute walk from shops/the beach were the highlights of the property.

We had a great time at this VRBO. It was in a good location near the beach and shops in La Jolla, if maybe a little far from downtown San Diego/Ocean Beach.
It's got a ton of beds which is ideal if you have a larger group (10+).
I would stay here again.

First this house is HUGE and back in its day I am sure it was a beautiful and amazing home. It's a little depressing how the owners either don't know or don't care how bad of a shape it is in. That being said, it is priced right for how big it is and the location! This home truly can sleep/entertain 20 people very comfortably. ALL the beds seem new and are very comfortable. There is a big dining room table and the kitchen is also big. There are plenty of bathrooms for everybody, one of the sinks didn't work and one of the showers was just ok. Just like other reviews said the stove and oven need to be replaced. The refrigerator looks like it's on it's last leg but somehow it still works well so that's a plus.
The backyard is AMAZING!!! Hot tub was so nice and there is tons of sitting areas outside. We even grilled one night. This home is run by a management company, and I'm assuming by the lack of communication I had with them they are a big management company. They never responded to any of the questions I had before the trip so I had to call VRBO and they were able to answer my questions. They did text me and offer me a late check out for 190.00 (which proved to me that they had my number and knew where I was staying.) The late check out was awesome and we were very appreciative of that!! Kitchen supplies were lacking. Big House, great location, not very clean and needs updating but it totally worked for our big group. Also no street parking, driveway holds 4 vehicles.

This is a great home for a lot of people and has enough space for everyone to feel comfortable. The downside was that the house wasn’t as clean as we would have liked, had lots of ants, and needs a little updating. The beds are extremely comfortable, everyone had a great night’s sleep. There are also not quite enough towels in the bathrooms which requires using the beach towels for some of the group. The location is great!

This house was awesome -- we were a little nervous from some of the reviews below, but clearly the feedback has been heard and we can comfortably recommend it strongly going forward. Yes, it hasn't been renovated in a while, and I wouldn't plan on cooking any big meals (only a couple of the burners on the stove work), but it's priced accordingly and otherwise lovely. The beds are new and comfortable, the hot tub is massive and was completely clean, the yard is big and private, and the house is truly massive, well-laid out, and located a short 10 minute walk from the center of La Jolla. Couldn't have imagined better, especially for the price. We had a great time and look forward to coming back!

Like the property as me and my friends had a good time. The property is clean and well managed. The pacific ocean views from second floor are nice. Enjoyed sitting in the patio with fireplace ignited. I like the management gesture of providing portable air-conditioner to big room, instead of me requesting, as one of the day during our stay was really hot.
The management addresses the issues immediately, say in an hour time as two bathrooms door locks were not working along with few electrical outlets in one room.
Things that need improvement is kitchen electric stove too slow to heat.

I am providing this feedback for future renters so you do not find yourself in the same situation and you can at least be prepared. Vacasa is not flexible at all if you need an early check in. Even though there we no guests the night before us and the house was ready, they would not budge on the 4pm check in even after I explained that we had a newborn and small children and had some baby equipment getting delivered to the house at 3pm. They were rude and said we are not allowed on the property until 4pm per CDC guidelines (Seriously???) I called again hoping to speak to someone with a little more understanding and this person was just as rude as the first. Even though the photos are gorgeous, I expected the home to be dated which is fine and reflected in the price, but it is not very well maintained. The fixtures are old and either hard to turn on or loose. One of the toilets doesn't flush properly. There were ants all over the hot tub and earwigs in the shower. There were no washcloths in the entire house or hand towels in any bathroom. There was no hand soap at the kitchen sink or cleaning supplies (or sponge) to wipe down the counters or stove after you cook. They only provide a few garbage bags and detergent pods which is not enough for a large group. The recycling bins were full when we arrived so it was challenging to add any more to the cans after our first night. When I requested washcloths, hand towels, a sponge, and hand soap for the kitchen sink, someone came by to drop off three hand towels although there are 5 bathrooms which is what I requested, no washcloths (was told they didn't have any) and no hand soap for the kitchen. I was told that they don't provide hand soap for the kitchen! When someone arrived with additional towels, he looked at the ants under the hot tub cover and noticed that there was sand all over the seats and the water was dirty. He sent someone out to clean it which was appreciated. On a positive note, the beds were comfortable and the home is large enough to accommodate a big group. The location is fantastic. The "on call" concierge was responsive to our requests although we didn't get all the items we needed. The towels, paper towels, toilet paper, soaps, shampoos, etc. are similar quality to a 2 star hotel, not something you would expect at a home in La Jolla. If these are the standard amenities provided by Vacasa and the customer service staff is that rude without any desire to accommodate special requests (which was not a big request) I will not be booking any future homes under this management. I didn't look at any Vasasa reviews before booking but when I finally did, I was so disappointed to see a 1 star average. Hopefully they take guests' feedback to make improvements as I am sure the homeowners would be mortified to read some of the comments about the management group.

We rented this home for a group of 20 and could not have been more disappointed. Immediately when walking in, you could tell the home had not been maintained as it should’ve been. Every faucet in the home is covered in lime/calcium build up so much so that it’s eating away at the finish and causing rust. A very simple upgrade, but they have not taken care of it.
In the kitchen, you’ll find the cooking supplies to be lacking. There was 1 singular trash bag for a home that sleeps 20. The appliances are from the early 90s. The stove had food particles all over it. The vent above the fridge literally fell off and hit someone in the head. We had to tape it on.
The baseboards had over a quarter inch of dirt on them. The home had 16 towels and slept 20 people. I reached out about it with customer support. They said they “try” to give one for each guest, but can’t always. We also didn’t have a single wash cloth in the house. I also reached out about that. They said they no longer provide them. Which felt like a bare minimum amenity.
We also reached out because the master bedroom has a TV pictured in the listing. There was a cable box and cords in the room, but no TV. They said they would give a refund of $25/day for not having it if they couldn’t get one installed. I heard nothing back and got no money back.
One of the dining chairs was not connected to the legs. Thankfully we were scooting it over and it fell apart then before someone sat on it.
As you enter the driveway, if you’re driving anything other than a high clearance vehicle just prepare for the entire underneath of your car to drag.
The wifi is slow. And the air filters have not been switched out in months. We checked it because the upstairs was not getting good airflow with the heat. It has INCHES of dust caked on it.
The home is beautiful and has a lot of potential. The neighborhood is great, but nothing has been updated since the early 90s. And it’s not maintained as it should be. It’s not worth the price.
Would not recommend. I’d love to add photos for proof, but I’m not able to.

While the location is ideal, the home itself was not as advertised. When we arrived, one of the bathrooms was in disgraceful shape while the rest of the bathrooms suffered from significant drainage issues, forcing our large group to use 1 of the working bathrooms. In addition, the hottub water was filthy, so not many were willing to use it. House needs to be better cleaned and maintained going forward.

The La Jolla Cove Beauty was an overall OK experience. It was not the original listing our group had booked via Vacasa as we were notified a few weeks before our trip to San Diego that the original house that we had booked is no longer available due to maintenance issues. Vacasa offered the group 3 different options. A full refund, a credit plus 10% that would need to be used when a specific time period, or the option to rent another one of their properties that hadn't been booked and was at a similar price. For a group of 20 people the only other house available was the "La Jolla Cove Beauty" which was then relocating our trip from Pacific Beach to La Jolla. Upon check in, you will notice that the house is a bit outdated in all of the amenities and many areas of the house did not seem like they were cleaned recently (bathrooms, stains on the couches, backyard filthy with debris on the furniture).
When the group had checked into the home around 4pm, they had immediately turned on the central AC as the house was stuffy and hot. We had left for a few hours to grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant so that the house could cool down. When we had returned it was unfortunate to find out that only the 4 bedrooms upstairs were only receiving AC and the 3 bedrooms (one room being with the 3 king beds) and entire downstairs remained hot with no air flow. The room with 3 king beds was not receiving any airflow from the central AC, half the windows were not able to open, had 1 working fan and 1 broken fan. The group of 6 that slept in that room had a terrible first night experience. In addition, as the night went on, the group of 20 people were starting to find out a number of plumbing issues, 3+ toilets were not operating and 1 shower was not draining.
Though Vacasa was able to send out vendors to fix the plumbing issues and air conditioning issues, the issues were not resolved. The air conditioning was still not reaching the rooms downstairs but they did provide a few additional fans. A plumber had come out to fix the shower that was not draining, had let us know that he needed to grab some equipment to properly snake the drain and did not return which left us 1 shower short for 20 people. Only 1 out of the toilets were repaired. Issues were not resolved by the end of our trip.
Vacasa was kind to provide a "goody bag" that included 1 paper towel, 1 spare roll of toilet bag, 3 additional trash bags, and 1 bar of soap, shampoo, and conditioner. What was unfortunate was that this was supposed to be enough for a 3-night minimum stay for 20 people. We ended up having to buy more paper towels, toilet paper, and trash bags to survive the weekend. Our group was also disappointment to find out there were not enough bath towels for each person to have one.
The house is located in a great neighborhood and with great views but was not prepared to house a group of 20 people.

PLEASE NOTE: I have never left a review like this … but I feel like it’s only right to WARN others of such a deplorable rental property and management! NEVER AGAIN!!
If I could give not just this home, but the customer service of this company 0 stars I would! Our experience at this property and it’s management was nothing sort of a nightmare!! We arrived after a very long drive to the property looking to settle down and get rest in our rental. As soon as we got to the front door disappointment set in , due to the dilapidated conditions of the outside home. Once in the home we were nauseously met by the pungent odors of a home that hadn’t been truly cleaned in quite some time. To say this house was filthy would be an understatement! From food caked on the walls… spills on the appliance’s… to spiders in the tub … hair and dirt the floor… not to mention and dust so thick you literally see the build up (note: we took 20 + pictures of these!) The list didn’t stop there, the curtain rods and curtains were literally hanging off the wall (as if a very wild party had taken place)…the other curtains looked to has fallen off and was on top fire place . Literally there was Masking tape thst held the top of the refrigerator up. Broken and soiled beds were just amoung the many things wrong with the bedroom! AGAIN, YES WE HAVE PICTURES OF ALL OF THIS!!! But to make matters EVEN WORSE …once we called customer service minutes after surveying the homes condition and SENT THEM PICTURES… THEY DID NOTHING! They didn’t sound surprised by what I was saying … as if they knew the condition of the home already. In fact management said there’s nothing they can do, because they don’t consider this an “emergency!” I explained we are in the midst of a pandemic!! How we are supposed to stay in a home that looks like it hasn’t been sanitized/ cleaned in weeks?!! The trash was even overflowing …and yet they call this not an emergency?! I asked could they put our group up for the night somewhere or in another one of their properties until these matters could be resolved… THEY TOLD US NO!!! Forcing ALL of us sleep outside in our VEHICLE !!! NEVER HAVE I EXPERIENCED SUCH DISREGARD TO PAYING CUSTOMERS IN MY 40 YEARS + OF LIVING! I could go on but my intent is to SHAME VACASA of this horrible experience that would have ruined our much needed getaway! This DID NOT HAVE TO COME TO THIS! A simple bit of consideration for your guest, and honesty in your advertisement (the filters on the photos make this property absolutely deceptive) would have gone a long way!
We did end up getting a hotel after spending the night on a bus and waiting for hotel rooms to become available the next day in the afternoon (for check in)
SO RENTERS BEWARE!!!! VACASA AND THIS PROPERTY HAS TO BE THE WORST EXPERIENCE I’VE ENCOUNTERED.
NEVER AGAIN!!!

Our extended family had a nice time at this home. It is walking distance to La Jolly Cove, wonderful restaurants and amazing natural beauty. Though there are small beaches within walking distance, we chose to drive to the larger beach at La Jolla Shores. We thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace in the backyard as well as the hot tub. The grill functioned well and we were supplied with enough propane. Be aware that the range and oven do not function properly. The dining room table has two leaves, making it big enough to seat 10. After moving the kitchen table adjacent to the dining room, we seated our 14. If you have a large group you will not have enough forks. The home was reasonably clean when we arrived, and is beautiful but tired. I would stay here again, but would prefer a home that is more fully supplied.

Our son got married at La Valencia this weekend, so we filled the property with friends and family. We had to stock the basics, and there were a few hiccups, but overall the property worked beautifully for us. Amazing location, amazing views, and we really enjoyed the ability to gather both indoors and outdoors. We had a fantastic weekend!

The house from the outside is lovely as are the yard and landscaping. It was certainly large enough for our group of 20. The house is outdated, especially the kitchen and bathrooms. The stovetop in the kitchen is very old, the refrigerator and freezer were missing shelves, the ice maker didn't work and there was rust in the bottom of the freezer. The wood on the cabinets in the kitchen and bedrooms was peeling off. Two curtain rods fell down during our stay. The first time my husband took a shower in the spacious master bathroom, one of the shower handles fell off. The bedroom that had the 3 king beds, had one small bathroom for the six people staying in it . When we arrived the hot tub had sand in it and the balconies and patios had not been swept. If the price for the week had been half of what we paid, it would have been okay, but not for what we paid. When i wrote to Vacasa, the management company, and asked for a refund, they credited me only $200. We have stayed in VRBOs many times and this is the first time I have ever written a complaint. The house needs to be updated, the management company needs to be more conscientious,l or the price for rental needs to be drastically reduced

The La Jolla Cove Beauty was nice but wasn't what we originally booked. 2 weeks before our arrival I was contacted by Vacasa and told the property we booked 3 - 4 months prior and had paid for in full, was no longer available secondary to ongoing construction. The original property was near the children's cove, across from the ocean with an unobstructed view. La Jolla Cove Beauty was roughly 1/4 mile away in a neighborhood and had a significantly distant/obstructed view of the ocean. Furthermore, we chose the original property secondary to its proximity to places we intended to visit. The La Jolla Cove property was far enough away that we needed to drive to those areas and then had to pay an additional $200-$250 in parking fees/valet/tips.
Vacasa did try to remedy the situation by offering 3 different options. A full refund, a credit plus 10% that would need to be used when a specific time period, or the option to rent another one of their properties that hadn't been booked and was at a similar price. My wife and I were celebrating 15 years of marriage and had already made many plans/reservations locally, thus, rebooking wasn't an option with such short notice.
I was given 4 different properties to choose from and while the La Jolla Cove Beauty was nice it was not what we wanted. This home is very large and was way too big for my wife and I. Furthermore, the view of the ocean was drastically different then the property we preferred. The La Jolla Cover Beauty was a few hundred dollars more which thankfully we weren't asked to pay the difference.
Given the details above the La Jolla Cove Beauty gets its 4/5 stars but Vacasa gets 2.5/5 stars for the experience

Wonderful Vacation
This home gave us wonderful views of the coast and the house had enough rooms and bathrooms for our family of 19 people. It is a little dated and needs some updates in the kitchen and bathrooms, but overall our stay was spectacular!

Great location, nice furnishing, bad customer service
Great location and views. Room furnishings were nice. Kitchen should have been equipped better given large home capacity. Newer appliances would be nice, too. Existing were old and rusty. Customer service is not good at all. Had trouble checking in as digital lockbox was no where to be found. Additionally, issues with lights not working was never resolved., even after following up several times with the property management. We had to use our cell phone flashlights to use the bathroom at night.

Great House, Lots of Beds and Space
We fit our family here very comfortably. This was a very well set up house with many beds and a nice hot tub amenity. Truly a gem and we are happy with our stay!

Close to shopping and restaurants
The house was very spacious and the location was great. However, we were given the incorrect lockbox code and when we called the person who answered the phone could not give us the correct code. We did not receive the correct code until the next morning. Once we got into the home the home was nice with comfortable beds and clean sheets.

The house is located in a beautiful neighborhood only a short drive or 20 minute walk to the beach. It's large and is great for big groups. I gave a lower rating because for the price you pay and the grand features in the home - the amenities are LACKING, especially for the quality of the home. Like Motel 6 quality towels and sheets. Windows are broken, ants are crawling all over the jacuzzi and there are tons of spiderwebs. Unfortunately, it just isn't kept up like many other rental properties. Many great features like the seating areas and bedroom views from the Master and top floor, cute decorations, large patio and grassy hill in the back and plenty of parking.
I selected this rental property to support a local rental company and then it switched to the larger brand of Vacasa - which made me a bit sad and less personal. There was a welcome gift wrapped with tissue paper and inside was a ziplock bag with a few dishwasher pods and garbage bags. I never write critiques but this was a really special long weekend for me and it was just disappointing overall, frankly.

Loved this house
This house had plenty of room for our group of 8 adults and 4 kids. We used the hot tub and grilled for a couple of meals. Our kids walked to restaurants in La Jolla.
