We have stayed in other rentals at Lake Rabun before. We loved being on the lake this time and having water access. The location and views are incredible! This is the first time we have not rented from the property owner and used Vacasa. We checked in and immediately noticed issues with cleanliness so I messaged Vacasa. There was debris on the floor, counters, dirty dishes in the cabinets and drawers, coffee stains on the dishwasher and cabinets. The bathroom surfaces had toothpaste and a brown smear on the wall and light switch and the sink surfaces weren’t clean. There were cobwebs attached to beds and furniture. I contacted Vacasa who said they would notify the local manager. The next day Vacasa texted and asked for photos which I sent. The 3rd day Vacasa emailed and asked for photos which I sent. Vacasa replied and agreed cleaning needed to be addressed and the local manager would contact me. They never did. My 78 yr old mother in law did the floors and I washed the dishes and silverware, cleaned the cabinets and drawers. We sanitized the bathrooms and hoped for the best. I would not recommend renting from a Vacasa managed property. A family member was staying in a nearby rental that was pristine cleaned. If they had a question or issue they simply texted the owner and received a reply. I got a reply from Vacasa at 2am! I don’t know where they are located. Note to the owner… we killed several yellow jackets inside downstairs. Might be getting in thru cracks in the doors.

It was difficult to find the “front door” which was the only key that worked to open the property and wasn’t the front door when you first approach the house next to where the key is located. Upon checking in, my son said, “Dad, this place is sketchy and disgusting.” There were insects and spiderwebs all over the house and a very depressing decor. This house is located on the ugliest part of Lake Rabun, behind a marina on the other side of lake Rabun road where you hear cars driving by and lighting up the room at night. The hiking from the boathouse to the house will make you never do it again because it’s so exhausting. Terrible Lake experience.

The location was so peaceful and beautiful.the house accommodated our large family perfectly.tge decks, patio & dock we're great for making use of the narrows - whether swimming at the boat house or docking our boat when we weren't using it.

The house was great and the outdoors was even better. The only thing we did not like was that there were bugs and that on the master bedroom on the main floor the bed was full of dog hair in the sheets. If you can fix these 2 issues the house will be a perfect getaway.

Relaxing Vacation
The house itself was nice. The floors could use a good cleaning. There were lots of black carpenter ants and spiders in the house. Pest control is definitely needed. I don’t think the place gets used a lot. A lot of spider webs on the deck. Deck needs to be pressure washed. Location is very remote if your looking for quiet. Roadway is pretty narrow. We had to make 3 point turns to get in and out of the road. We drive a truck.
