About this house rental
Located on a rare, FLAT, FENCED-in lakefront lot on Lake Rabun - great for children of all ages - “Little Lakemont” is a two-story, family-owned home in the scenic Northeast Georgia Mountains. Bring your bathing suits and a carefree attitude to this quiet section of the lake, where your only task is to relax and enjoy the beauty that surrounds.
This immaculate home, located less than two hours north of Atlanta, sleeps up to 9 guests, ideal for a family vacation, weekend getaway or a girls' or guys' trip. Little Lakemont is neat as a pin, tastefully and comfortably furnished, and offers the ability to accommodate a crowd, if needed, while still offering cozy privacy to its treasured guests. Easily accessible year-round via paved Lake Rabun Road (trust us, this is a perk!), Little Lakemont has ample parking and no daunting flights of stairs to the house, boathouse or the lake (perk! perk! perk! perk!).
Our large FENCED-IN back lawn is perfect for running around playing tag, chasing fireflies, roasting marshmallows in the in-ground fire-pit or squaring off in a game of Giant Jenga, Horseshoes or Corn Hole (all provided!) under the shade of the Sycamore trees that border the lake. Relax on the wrap-around screened-in porch – where we bet you’ll spend the majority of your time – with unobstructed views of our boathouse and Lake Rabun. You and your guests enjoying the peaceful calm of “The Narrows” and its no-wake zone, making swimming and water recreation worry-free. Explore the water via our 3-person, 17-foot canoe and 1-person, 15-foot kayak, or stay grounded and make use of our charcoal grill and the boathouse's lounge chairs, dining table and chairs and porch swing.
Speaking of the boathouse, ours is partially covered so you can sunbathe or relax in the shade. We have two boat slips, so feel free to bring your own boat (the Lake Rabun Beach boat ramp is just a stone's throw away) or rent via Michael at Lake Rabun Boat Rentals (706-782-4438) or Hall's Boat House (706-782-4981) . Just be mindful of the no-wake zone in The Narrows, and be sure to wave as friendly “neighbors” pass by, as Southern Hospitality is on full display here at Lake Rabun.
As you enter Little Lakemont through the front door (via the screened-in, wrap-around porch), you’re welcomed immediately by the open kitchen and dining area that overlook the family room. Cook (or simply eat) to your heart’s content with all the pots, pans, plates and utensils one could need. The kitchen features a gas-burning oven and stove, microwave, toaster oven, drip coffee machine, Keurig, dishwasher, garbage disposal and refrigerator with ice machine. We also have an ice-cream machine, slow-cooker, popcorn machine, shaved ice machine, blender and hand-mixer.
If by chance you aren’t taking your meals on the dining table on our screened-in porch (which features our second charcoal grill and two Adirondack-style swivel/rockers), our indoor dining table seats eight (five chairs and one bench) for casual meals. We also have a restaurant-style high chair available for your use, if needed.
The family room is cozy and inviting with a new couch (which folds out to a full-sized bed) and new, comfy, upholstered swivel-rocker chairs, all of which are working hard to divide their time between the entertainment center (stocked with a 43-inch smart TV, DVD player, tons of movies and board games) and the real star of the show, a floor-to-vaulted-ceiling stone, gas fireplace.
The two guest bedrooms are also located downstairs. One features a pillow-top queen bed and the other – in true Lake Rabun fashion – bunk beds! Both bedrooms have ceiling fans, plenty of closet space and storage, and the comfy beds are nicely appointed with crisp linens and quilts. These bedrooms share the immaculate main-floor bathroom, which features a roomy vanity/sink, large linen closet (stocked with bath towels and beach towels) and a shower/tub.
If a quick load of laundry is on your agenda, a washer/dryer combo is conveniently located on the main floor next to the bathroom.
The master suite, with a king-sized bed and attached bath, is located on the second floor, offering quiet seclusion from the rest of the home. If you’re tempted to watch television, the cleanly appointed master bedroom features one of the two TVs in Little Lakemont. Just outside the master is a sunny reading loft, where an overstuffed leather chair and ottoman invite you to settle in and enjoy a good book (borrow one of ours or bring your own) - or take a nap! - with views of Lake Rabun and the boathouse just below. Also on the top floor is a small, gabled bedroom with a single bed, perfect for a child (or an adult who would prefer the privacy of his/her own room versus the pull-out sofa in the living room). There’s plenty of space in this bedroom for a pack-and-play (not provided) for the littlest ones.
There will be no need to leave Little Lakemont once you arrive, but there’s plenty of exploring at your fingertips, should you feel compelled to wander. Enjoy Angel Falls (you can walk from our driveway to the trail head), Minnehaha Falls (a short drive to the trail head, just across the lake from Little Lakemont), Tallulah Gorge and Black Rock Mountain State Parks, all offering hiking trails and pristine views. Hall’s Marina, Lake Rabun Inn and Restaurant and Max's Lakeside are a short drive (or boat ride) away; Rabun Beach Grocery is nearly next door (for restocking refreshments, gas for your boat or an ice cream treat or two for the kids...); historic Lakemont beckons with its quaint shopping area, art gallery and café; and plenty of creature comforts (Wal-Mart, Ingle's Grocery Store, Home Depot, fast food ) are available in the nearest city – Clayton, Georgia – and Downtown Clayton is booming with boutiques and amazing restaurants.
We consider Little Lakemont our favorite place on Earth, and we respectfully offer its charm and hospitality to you as you plan your next mountain retreat.

We had the best trip to Lake Rabun! Your home is adorable. We enjoyed the dock, floating in the lake, Max’s bar and restaurant and getting to spend some quality time with best friends. We can’t wait to come back.

The cabin is so fun! The enclosed porch is perfect for morning coffee and listening and watching the birds. The boathouse is also a favorite spot to sneak away and read a book and watch the sunset. There’s plenty of room to gather together for meals, games and sharing. We feel so blessed to have the opportunity to share this experience with our family and I know we are creating life long memories ❤️

The house was immaculate! The cleanest rental I have ever been in, with every amenity/cookware you could possibly need. We had such a special time with our friends and kids we would love to make it an annual July trip. You could not beat the views from the porch and dock. Thank you so much for a special weekend.

This lake house is so beautiful, and lake Rabun is a gem! This was the perfect family getaway, only 2 hours from Marietta and my kids loved it. If you're looking for a quiet, beautiful setting that's just around the corner from the busy city - this is your place! I prefer this over the beach. We will be back!

We loved staying at Little Lakemont. Spectacular views and peaceful. Our favorite was the screened porch where we had our early morning coffee and dinners. The home “hugged” you in that it was so cozy and had everything we needed and more.

Little Lakemont is a lovely VRBO. Our family enjoyed everything about our stay. The location is peaceful and quiet, the yard is fenced and flat, and our boys loved playing wiffle ball there. Other children loved fishing off the dock. We would love to stay at Little Lakemont again, and I think if you stay there, you will be delighted just as we were.

The 3 of us enjoyed our stay at Little Lakemont very much! It was exactly as described, and perfect for our small family. We brought our own hickory firewood and enjoyed a fire every evening and morning as the cool Fall weather arrived. The house and porch were quite clean and well appointed. The kitchen was great for anytime we did our own cooking. The yard and dock were also freshly clean and maintained.
Easy outings possible for exploring old Clayton or Highlands, NC, as we did.
Having the kayak and canoe was a great plus! Note that the water in this part of the lake is quite shallow -- even more so during the dry Fall season, but the lake does not fluctuate much like other larger GA lakes. The "narrows" are quiet and still and very peaceful. We definitely hope to return!

Our family had a great long weekend stay at Little Lakemont. Everything was as described, house was clean and well equipped, and process/communications were responsive. The setting on a quiet section of the lake really is beautiful and great for lounging/swimming/kayaking, and renting/navigating a boat out for watersports was easy. Would definitely recommend.

What a great place! Everything was as pictured. Clean, neat, organized, and detailed-oriented, including descriptions for everything and how to use it. The location was very quiet, and peaceful for a relaxing vacation at the lake. Views are amazing, especially coming back from an excursion on the kayak! We would definitely return here for another vacation.

This was the second time we have stayed at this property and it did not disappoint. The house is in such a fantastic location and the home itself is fabulous. The owners have ensured everything you may need is already provided, so you can literally unpack and start enjoying your vacation. Kids will love the location for the swimming, fishing and kayaking, and adults will love that it is in a 5 MPH zone so no boats or jetskis flying by. Did I mention the bass fishing is incredible. Launch ramp is a couple hundred yards away and I pulled my boat into the slip at the boathouse out back. Everything about this property is next level impressive, and the owners are very responsive and grascious hosts. Can't wait for the next trip!

My Family stayed here over the Thanksgiving week and had a perfect stay. the house is on a beautiful part of the lake and the leaves still had fall color in them making for a wonderful setting every morning at the boat house. The house is comfortable and has everything needed to entertain a family, the kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, plates, utensils and glasses, very comfortable beds, lots of games if you have a rainy day. The location is great, you can walk a half mile to a hiking trail, Helen is 30 minutes away, lake burton wildcat trail head 25 minutes away, (beautiful hike to a waterfall).
This is the house you need to stay at if you want to stay on a mountain lake in GA.
My grandchildren are already planning to come back during the summer.

Lovely Stay at Little Lakemont
My husband and I along with our daughters enjoyed our stay at Little Lakemont. Located on a quiet part of the Lake: the Narrows, the location was perfect for kayaking, swimming, etc without the worry of busy boat traffic. We rented a boat and were able to explore Lake Rabun in it’s entirety.
Billy was a wonderful host; he included recommendations for dining, grocery shopping, rentals, etc.
We can’t wait for our next stay!

Tranquility at Little Lakemont
Little Lakemont is a dream home-away-from-home. The screened-in porch offered an excellent inside/outside place to perch. There were two finely tuned swivel & glide Adirondacks that frequently called our name. Down the path, the two-story boathouse provided glorious views of mountains freshly painted by clouds & sun, the Tallulah River calmly floated by, a gaggle of geese happily honked in a nearby cove, & a majestic osprey soared high overhead. It was an enchanting place to fish, canoe, kayak, dine, read, write, rest, play.
We are so grateful to the owners of Little Lakemont for opening up their home to us. We hope to return soon.
Sincerely,
Steve & Amanda

The most beautiful lake house for a family!
We had SUCH an amazing time at this lovely little slice of lake house heaven and wish our stay was longer. I can't say enough positive things about how wonderful this property is. The views are stunning to say the least, and the house itself is great. No complaints at all. Our young children absolutely loved the large backyard, canoe, outdoor games, fish in the lake, and campfires of course. I would 1,000% recommend this house.

Perfect Getaway
Little Lakemont is magical. The house is clean, the beds are comfortable, and the lake is beautiful. We enjoyed coffee out on the boat house every morning and played horseshoes and cornhole in the evening. My only complaint is that we didn’t get to stay longer.

We had a wonderful & relaxing long weekend at Little Lakemont! We rented a boat & paddleboard from Michael as suggested by the owners & had a great time on the lake. The cove at the house was a perfect spot for our young kids to practice kayaking & paddleboarding. We also enjoyed shopping & eating just a short drive away in Clayton & had a fabulous brunch at Lake Rabun Hotel & Restaurant. We highly recommend this property & all it offers for families!
