The home is perfect for a family like ours. We have the 3rd floor bedroom. My younger daughter, husband and their son have the 2nd floor. Our older daughter and husband have the 1st floor. Every one of us enjoy this house and hate to leave.

We loved the house and the location. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to feed our crew, even a crock pot! The bedrooms were spacious, and decorated nicely, but the mattresses were lumpy. There were ample bathrooms througout. We spent a lot of time playing pool and enjoying family time! We had a family of nine staying at Coastal Charm for the week. The middle floor was excellent for the kids in the family! The top floor master suite was amazing—perfect view of the shore. It was great for the older adults in our group that the elevator was quick and fully functional. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and we were able to visit the nearby FoodLion whenever more food supplies were needed. We enjoyed easy access to the beach, a lovely hot tub on the porch, and plenty of indoor spaces for playing games and doing puzzles. Thank you!

The property is well positioned on the beach with a public access next to us. Don’t be concerned about an increase in the number of people on the beach. It never happened. The house décor showed the owner’s pride in the property. Compared to other properties we have stayed in over the past 25 years, this rental is at the top of the list.

The cleaning crew did a great job - the place was spotless when we arrived. The house is beautifully decorated, the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, utensils and small appliances. The beach couldn't be closer! We had a great week - went to Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, rented bikes and had a delicious dinner at Cafe Pamlico. One morning when going for a walk, there was a race, so we joined them and discovered a great route out to the sound. Would love to rent this house again!

We have stayed in many, many rental homes. We have never had to experience as many cockroaches anywhere as there were in this house. There were roaches everywhere - we killed them constantly - on the outside decks, in the bedrooms, the game room, the kitchen - EVERYWHERE! The house seemed clean otherwise, but the roaches were huge!! Additionally, amenities were sorely lacking: most rental homes include at least a binder with restaurant/activities recommendations - not here! There was no soap in the bathrooms. There were no spices in the kitchen. There wasn’t even any extra toilet paper or paper towels. So, despite the excellent location and quality of the home, we can’t give it even 4 stars. Because of the ROACHES, mostly, but also because there was little to nothing in the way of hospitality. We’ll not be recommending this to our clients or friends - we’ll be steering them away from this property.

The 3 stories gave my wife and me, my younger daughter her son and husband and our older daughter and husband each a separate floor for privacy. The kitchen was very well equipped, more than we needed. Who goes to the beach to cook? The elevator saved my 80 year old body from hauling suitcases, cooler, food, etc up 3 flights of stairs. The view is fabulous from any of the 3 decks. The pool table added some extra fun. We are already looking forward to our stay next year.

This home was immaculate! Whoever cleans this home does a fabulous job. Best home feature was the elevator. It made move in and move out quick and easy. The kitchen has lots of utensils, gadgets, glasses and dishes. However, it would be helpful to have a few more pots for cooking. There was no hand mixer there, however all other appliances were there and the ones we used all worked fine.
The hot tub wasn’t working when we got there. After a phone call and a couple of days it was working again.
The view from the deck was fabulous. We had a great vacation and totally enjoyed this home. We would definitely choose this home again!

Family vacation at Coastal Charm
This house was just the prescription we needed for comfort and relaxation. Several family members traveled to join us and were thrilled with their accommodations. The house provided all of the amenities to make our stay pleasant and worry free. The furnishings and decor were tasteful and comfortable. And views…nothing short of breathtaking. We would definitely stay here again!👍🏻😎

Nice house but needs some attention
As far as location goes this is about as good as it gets. Your are steps from the ocean! Unfortunately for us the house was not clean when we checked in. Hadn’t even been touched- dirty sheets/towels, popcorn on the couch, clothes left in rooms, and very dirty bathrooms. When we called they had people out within the hour but it was still extremely inconvenient. The kitchen really needs some TLC. There are very limited tools (only two small frying pans, no can opener, broken knives, etc). The rooms were spacious and the furniture was comfortable. I think the owners need to do a walkthrough and replenish the kitchen.

Overall a positive experience
Overall it was a positive experience. Great location. Comfortable beds and furniture. House does need some minor "fixes", the key pad door is difficult to turn and the knob is loose making it tricky to enter. The screen door on the top floor, off the kitchen was torn almost in half. The frying pans were very used and could use some updating. Only 1/2 of the toaster worked. We were unfortunately only provided with a set of 2 bath towels between 6 people. Multiple messages were left for house keeping across 4 days. I sent a message through the VBRO account, and the manager did resolve this that day. I learned the housekeeping had no staff due to a death in the family. I would suggest that the answering machine be updated and that an alternate option be offered otherwise the customer just feels they are being ignored.

This house is as close to the beach as you can get. Just a few step out the back and you’re on the beach. The 2nd floor pool is a feature that I did not see at any other house along the beachfront. It was awesome. The home itself is very well equipped and a beautiful home. It had everything you could want with the exception of a dedicated game or movie room. However, the living room tv is large with multiple movies available. But, we don’t ever use those features choosing to spend our time on the beach and in the pool and hot tub. Oh, and the elevator was a nice bonus. Groceries and luggage straight to the different floors. We hope to reserve the house again next year. Sea Monkey was the nicest home I`ve rented on Hatteras Island from about 8 houses over the past few years. The decor is thoughtful and high quality without being `worn` in the slightest. The easy walk to the beach and panoramic views from the decks is very unique to this property and provided a constant feeling of awe. Outerbeaches was by far the most pleasant property management group I`ve worked with on Hatteras Island and I`ve rented from all of the largest 3 or 4 companies. The house is a cute and quaint little place right on the canal. We have a boat so it was perfect in that respect. When we first arrived, I`m not for sure the house had even been cleaned. We had to wait until almost 7pm to check into the house (that`s when I got a text saying it was ready). The floors hadn`t been vacuumed, there was food splatter on the stove top, and crumbs on the island. On several occasions there were roaches found and mouse droppings behind the beds. It`s an older home, so I wasn`t super surprised by that. They provide a vacuum and there were cleaning supplies, so that was nice to have. We did have to bring our own linens, pillows, towels, paper towels, and toilet paper. They did provide one roll of paper towels and a small dish liquid. Given the circumstances were in right now I didn`t mind bringing my own. The lady that lives two houses down is so sweet! She knows everyone in the neighborhood. She`s been a local for almost 30 years, so she pointed us to all of the best restaurants and places to go. Check out was 8am, you pretty much lose two whole days that you pay for because of the check-in and check out process.All-in-all I would probably rent this house again.
