Wind down at "On the Half Shell" (formerly known as "One More Day"). On the Half Shell offers 4 bedrooms, 4 baths, open great room, private pool (can be heated for a fee), glorious Gulf views, quick and easy beach access just steps away, and tons of fun for the whole family!
Bells and whistles and creature comforts galore makes On the Half Shell your perfect St. George Island retreat! With the whole house on one living level, there is room to gather and enjoy each other, or retreat to one of the 4 private bedrooms.
The central great room offers an open concept to enjoy each other during your precious vacation time together. The fully equipped kitchen is the center of activity for laughter and togetherness while cooking up the day's catch! The open living area makes late night movie watching on the big flat screen comfortable and relaxing.
The King Master Suite boasts a flat screen TV, walk-in closet, private bath with soaker tub, separate shower, double vanity and water closet. Views of the Gulf are enjoyed from the master suite and deck access is easy through the private access.
The second bedroom, also with King bed, flat screen TV, and private bath with stand up shower, has Gulf views and private access to the deck.
The third bedroom also has a King bed, flat screen TV, and a private bathroom with stand up shower.
Fun for the kids is found in the 4th bedroom with a triple bunk (full on bottom, twin on top) plus a twin pull out trundle beneath, and the 4th bathroom is just outside the bedroom door and common to the great room.

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable time. This beach house is wonderful for a large family. Lovely, well equipped, and spacious. The pool area is beautiful, and the pool heater worked great. The area under the house is spacious and clean as well. Wonderful for games and riding bikes.

This property was absolutely amazing, I cannot recommend it enough!! My family and I have been visiting St. George Island annually for many years now, and this home has been one of my favorites by far!
Our group ended up having 10 females (+1 pup), and the home was spacious enough for all of us to live for a week without feeling cramped. The large kitchen island and dining tables were a phenomenal touch as we cooked 95% of our meals on this trip.
The pool was a big hit with everyone and we split most of our time between there and the beach! Plus the outdoor seating options (deck and poolside) were well shaded and spacious! The carport below the house was an amazing use of space as well as it comfortably fit 3 large SUVS, 2 large golf carts, several beach wagons, and lots of beach gear!
I do wish there were some amber or sea turtle friendly lights installed in the outdoor areas as it was a little difficult to navigate the stairs without turning on the bright flood lights at night, but this is just a suggestion and definitely wouldn’t stop me from staying here again!!
We are all so grateful for the hosts hospitality and we hope to book this property again in the future! Cheers!

This house is clean, beautifully decorated and the property manager made everything clear and easy from check in to check out. The house feels warm and the beach views, especially the sunrises, are wonderful. We had everything we needed and more! This house is clean, beautifully decorated and the property manager made everything clear and easy from check in to check out. The house feels warm and the beach views, especially the sunrises, are wonderful. We had everything we needed and more! The kids always had something to do, either playing at the beach just across the street or playing in the pool. Even on rainy days, there was a tv in each room for entertainment. This was our first trip to SGI, and this house was fantastic and met our needs perfectly! We had 3 families in the house with 5 kids under the age of 8, with 2 under 18 months of age. This is was perfect for the toddlers, with no steps inside to worry about, the pool fenced off to keep the kids in or out, and the front balcony had the stairs gated off so we could have less worries with the little ones outside. The parking area under the house was great for playing corn hole and had plenty of seating for everybody to gather around. The house itself was clean, well stocked, they provided nice, big, thick beach towel, kitchen had plenty of cooking utensils, even a pack n’ play was in the kid’s closet and high chair in the kitchen, dishwasher and laundry detergent was also provided. The open floor plan is great so everybody can be together with plenty of seating. Beds were all comfortable with plenty of pillows and linens provided.
The beach access is across the street and 1 house down, making it convenient and easy to go back and forth between the house, pool, and beach.
We have no complaints and we will definitely be back! At the end of the week we found ourselves saying “Just One More Day” so the house is appropriately named.

Great time with three generations. Spacious and awesome view of gulf.
Home was well equipped and while we had a few glitches on arrival, they were quicky resolved. Plenty of room to spread out and come together for meals. The only downside we encountered was cold water temp in pool.

We stayed for four weeks in January- February, 2019. All aspects of the property are absolutely great. View of the ocean, access to beach, cleanliness, pool, room size, appliances, etc. The owner of this property did it right.

Wonderful family trip at Thanksgiving
Final Approach was easily the nicest and cleanest house I have stayed at in 15 years going to St. George. The open floor plan and private bathrooms for each bedroom was a real bonus for our family. The front porch had a lovely sofa and seating area with an unobstructed view of the ocean. We also made good use of the paddle boat that was provided and on two calm days got to see dolphins up close. Overall, wonderful home!!!

Brand New Beauty, Comfort & Style!
LOVED Final Approach! This 1st tier house exceeded our expectations - each room had it's own bath, the kitchen was fabulous, it was stocked with everything we needed and gorgeous to look at. We had comfortable beds and enjoyed our coffee watching the sunrise from the front porch. Beautiful views of the ocean from the family room and front bedrooms. Relaxed in the pool after a day at the beach and we got to enjoy the kayak a couple of times. We have been visiting the Island for several years and will absolutely return to Final Approach. Thank you for making our stay so memorable!

Wonderfully relaxing location!
This was our first trip to SGI and it did not disappoint! This is a beautiful home and is set up nicely to accommodate large groups. We were traveling with several young children and they loved having the private pool. When we arrived - we were delightfully surprised the house was ready earlier than expected! We found the kitchen lacking some essentials, but contacted Carla and she quickly brought us those items! Overall we had a wonderful stay. If I could provide any kind of suggestions (only to make a great thing better) would be to request to have the AMAZING front deck screened in. We spent ample time out there as there was a great breeze at all times, but come dusk the mosquitoes ran us inside QUICK! I don't know if it was because of the time of year we were there (7/28-8/4) or if the rains had anything to do with it, but it was still a bummer to have to retreat to the house every night as soon as the sun started to set - especially since we had already planned to play outdoor games and hang out under the house every evening. We would highly recommend this home to others, and would love to visit again in the future!

The home is beautiful!! It had everything we needed and more!! Having a private pool was great! The only suggestion we have is to add a handrail to enter the pool. We had grandma with us and she had a hard time getting in and out of the pool (some other adults did too). We ended up putting a chair and a cooler there to use as a handrail. The ocean view is amazing!! Even though it is across the street from the beach, you could still hear the waves and there was easy access to the beach. We will be back for sure! We fell in love with the island and the house! Was perfect for our families to vacation!

Final Approach is a beautiful vacation home.
We enjoyed out week at Final Approach immensely! Plenty of room for our family of 10.
Everything is new and clean. The view of the gulf is wonderful and so easy to access because the crossover is one house away.
Also, the pool is the perfect size for dipping and playing with small inflatables.
We enjoyed using the propane burner and large pot for making frogmore stew.
We would love to go back again!!

Beautiful house, perfect location!
This was our first visit to St George, total experience exceeded our expectations! House is beautiful, and although it’s not directly on the beach the view is gorgeous & access to beach is about a 2 minute walk. We will be booking again for next year!!!
